Healing Ice tankers are realy useful since they tend not to get interupted, and on PvP teams are likely to be overlooked.
I really should do something about this signature.

The medicine pool is a nice pool for tanks as a low recharge self heal makes a vast difference to survivablity. Also given that heals are based on % of total hitpoints a tank healing someone else may well be pretty effective even without heavy slotting.

Is this true? I thought heals were flat HP
on my herobuilder it says 20% ally so maybe its worth looking into! I have stimulant and aid self on my scrapper so i cant test it a confirmation would be nice. On my invuln i can not imagine not getting interrupted but if i had ice patch i see a good opportunity there

Its 20% of your actual HP, And tanks having the most give out the biggest heals off of the pools 
Very interesting. If they ever hand out a respec,I might dust of my lvl 30 ice/ice tank. Slot aid self with 2 x heal, 2 x recharge, 2 x interrupt, might be interesring. COmbination of high defence and ice patch would make it viable
mr cuddles has aid other shannon but I hardly ever used it - just took it as a precursor to aid self 3 slotted with heals and 3 slotted with interrupt reducers so it works as a combat heal.

[/ QUOTE ]Pah, for sure you can't herd full maps of +6 anymore but tankers are still very viable, you just need to adapt, all these people crying their eyes out because they are nerfed and gimped and 'Ah, those were the days..' are just too lazy to try and adapt!!
We all had to adapt, I lost 3 pets with I5, I had my AoE holds severly gimped but STILL you see loads of people playing controllers..They've been tuned down to the other ATs, maybe for tankers have been more dramatic because they were SO OVEPOWERED that it was ridiculous, so they suffered more for the loss, but ANY AT HAD TO ADAPT, WHAT'S WRONG WITH TANKERS THAT THEY CAN'T ADAPT BUT JUST CRY?!?!

Adapting an inactive character ( perhaps because they are lvl 50 ) to new rules ( ie nerfs or buffs ) is probably more of a pain than adapting an active character, like my tanker Golden Golem who was in his early 40s when I6 hit. It took me a good 2 weeks to actually want to adapt and when I finally did use it I was pretty happy with it. I like my tanker still, despite the fact that I perhaps only play him once a week.

[/ QUOTE ]I adapted my troller 2 times, had to relern how to play him twice, he's not uber as it was used to be but still I play him, maybe there's some people that only want to play overpowered toons, like the current MM(soloing AVs, facing team sized spawns, taking on +6 foes, all things I've seen with my eyes)but they will cry yet again when they'll get tuned down, scream, yell and whine when they'll get 'nerfed' (not brought in line, mind, always NERFED)..Pah..

If for you being non-gimped means making the work of a whole team all alone while facing +6 enemy, then you ARE gimped, but in any other way, there's no gimped toons(not as gimped as whiners keep saying anyway)why you don't see any defender(at lvl 50 now they can heal, buff or debuff less than they were lvl 30-35 before ED, but they don't cry), controller(our control has been so weakened that's just ridiculos now), scrapper(SR anyone?But still i see loads of people playing SR scrappers) or blaster whine and reply to every post always with the same reasons('We're nerfed, we're useless!')?
Maybe because everyone had to adapt, but there's people willing to and people that just want their life easy, because there's hell loads of lvl 50 out there that instead of complaining just made some work and brought their toons up and running...
When tankers were the uber herding and unkillable god-like machine you could've found loads of them online, everyone and their brothers playing tank for the easy route to 50, now that they are a normal AT you barely see 10-15 of them online server-wise, lol!

You chose to adapt, they chose to play other characters. Both you pay the same money, both have a right to that choice.
I chose to stop playing my DM/Regen way before the nerfs and start a DM/SR because I was finding regen boring. Should I have learned to addapt to a powerset I didn't like, or was it alright for me to play something else? With that in mind there are tankers that no longer like their powersets, should they carry on playing something they dont like, or is it perhaps permissible that they can play something else instead. Maybe if they were paid money to play rather than paying to play they should carry on with what they dont like. But as they play the game for their enjoyment I think its fair enough for them to play something else.

Personally I picked a tanker for my first character because it sounded like a survivable AT for someone trying out the game for the first time. If I wanted to be "uber" I certainly wouldn't have gone with war mace as my secondary I haven't been playing my tank a lot lately because I've been concentrating on my controller. I still enjoy playing my tanker though and I'm happy with his current build and abilities.

Imho mr cuddles happens to be one of the good tankers out there who actually found his fun in the herding of maps and not one of the bad tankers who could herd maps. I'm sure he could adapt if he tried but his fun his lost now.

Attacks? My attacks have got twice as good! Against some AV's i may have to hit unstoppable but my damage is adding to my survivability by killing them before i crash. Its an edge i like! If i built for more sustainable damage, i could in lower damage teams die more against an AV by my weaker offense, and in pvp OMG!! i am having fun

i met a tanker the other day played by a young lad i wont give names, but anyway 4 lvls above me he offered me a chance to just sit back for great xp and let him do the mission. how nice i thought but i hate xp as i play for storylines, so i took the sk.
We face malta and worrying for him i tried to move in on sapper at exact moment he did and use cryo freeze ray. Well i was a sec to early and took a hit but he still herded and lay down icepatch where the sapper was to knockback enemies. Then out of the blue to my amazement he said "come close so i can heal you" LOL! and he tanked really really well too.
i have to love his totally original build and i am tempted to try it on my ice/ice tanker if i ever get her past 40.
