1 V 1 in Sirens Call

Is it wrong to interuppt 1 V 1 in Sirens when this person who is taking part in 1 V 1 is your your juciy bounty?

I bring this up because I was recently ina team, that decided to take on some heroes in 1 V 1, I didn't mind a few battles, but when it became on-going I started to get frustrated because the bounty was going to the Villains who would keep winning and taking the damn bounty, so I decided to cut myself loose and go intruppt these fights and claim the bounty for myself.
Of course the guys from my team were not happy, but I wasn't about to wait and waste.

So was I wrong, would you hold a grudge against this sort of thing, not that it bothers me, you got my bounty and I want it, I expect no less from others.

Siren's Call - and the other PvP zones - are "free fire" zones, not 1on1 duelling areas such as the Arena .

Don't see anything wrong done...

Well there are no rules and it is PvP but I still wouldn't do it. If it has been called out I will leave them alone (even if its my bounty - another will come along just as quick).

I suppose its difficult/different for you because you are a stalker. You can't really fight one on one. Your greatest strength is your surprise attack.

I dont know how I stand in relation to others but myself its not the done thing. I dont expect everyone to respect a one on one so am wary of others joining in.

If a person joins in mid fight on an annouced one on one (trying to kill steal) that would [censored] me off and probably result in them my next target and my next and my next ....

In the case for yourself, I could probably forgive you (you are after your bounty and it would normally be a quick kill). If the person keeps on doing it then it would [censored] me off. I could forgive someone attacking and killing me for my bounty but to continuously attack and interrupt is a def no no.

You want people to keep coming back to these areas and giving them a bad taste in there mouth will not help make these areas busier.

People can argue you should go to the arena but it is not as fun. I have often come to Sirens to make it more fun for the hero's and my friends. Normally there is around 5+ heros and only 1/2 villains. I have afew fights and then probably insist on one on one's. Being heavily outnumbered and ganked is not my idea of fun and thus one on ones is the only way of fighting (well giving a sporting chance). Abusing the one on one results in me leaving the area which ultimatley stops you gaining any more bounty and having any more fun.

I personally wait whenever I see a one on one, simply because stealing kills is extremely lame.

But I get KSed plenty of times by stalkers who suddenly pop out with an AS when I'm holding a one on one duel.

Stealing Kills in PvE I think is unfair, but PvP there is no real incentive so I ain't all that bothered really, I am interested in hearing your thoughts though.

Well no Incentive I say, but those Lv 43 Enhancements I can get from Sirens are actually nice to have, so yeah, bounty Hunting is worth it, and I think Hogging the Bounty for 1 V 1 is just asking for trouble.

Well, you're slowing down their gain of reputation, and you need like...200 for a badge.

I kill everyone I see really. Or atleast try to.

Ahh I didn't know that, in which case my Rep comes first >=D...shouldn't be too far off of that now.

Well, you'll get reputation far faster if you kill yourself. Killstealing will only get you some reputation.

Yeah I noticed, I'm not at all into Kill stealing for fun I don't find it fun getting 33.0.

I just want my bounty in Sirens.

Greed...it's all part of being Evil. >=D

Im far more interested in the perceived reputation I gain from the enemy. I love it when you see names you hate/recognise.

I maybe squishy but I try hard to give back just as much as I receive (going back to the original topic). Sometimes you feel hard done by and want abit of revenge. For example beating up the opposing person and his teams comes in to his rescue. I tend to enjoy abit of banter which will often lead to a one on one confrontation to settle our differences/score.

I feel this is part of PvP and that interfering with these battles does not do your reputation any good. The only thing it does is sour peoples enjoyment and make you a marked person (and all this for a tiny bit of bounty!).

If people are dueling but you are missing on the bounty just ask, if they say yes or are weird about your request then you will not mind interfering

If people need a bounty or rep boost when its quiet Im always happy to play punchbag

Don't care. If your name is orange, then you die. Unless, of course, it's orange because you're already dead. Then it'd be pretty damn stupid to try and attack you.

Personally I will follow the fight until there is a victor or I lose track of one of them, then attack the one left in my sights.

Thats my stance with couple of exceptions.

For my own reasons i not attack in PvP zones:

1)RPers engaged in RPing
2)badge hunters
3) people who declare a very valid reason to not do so or they send a tell asking

I try not to deprive people of their hard earned defeats/victories, but if you want a 1v1 then post a broadcast telling everyone

That said, I had an awesome 1 on 1 with a corrupter in sirens the other night, a truly epc battle (Well for me anyway,I hope the villain had fun too) that required a much needed rest to regain end part way throug And that was after about an hour of a teleportation chase through the zone....good times

If you have clearly said over Broadcast and people have replied/seen the msg then i wouldnt atk , its jus when u get some nub to proceed in atkn u have to turn around and slay them to the ground lol , and even when they keep coming back its jus stupid. Thats when the duel moves and its worse when you are thr bounty lol

From your third comment im assuming a reason like a dual is not valid (as would have thought you would have put something like 4) wont attack people dueling or something similar).

I find it funny that you have these exceptions yet you dont mind attacking someone who is having a duel. They are not interferring with yourself (like all the exceptions you have mentioned). You dont attack people role playing cause you will ruin there enjoyment but you will attack an one on one and ruin theres. To me that dont make sense. It is also a reason why at the end of the day you should expect nothing in sirens call. There are no rules! Everyone has there different motives and there own rules/guidelines they adhere to. Its nice when you are fighting like minded people but then again getting revenge on the person who aggravated you (for whatever reason) is also very nice.

Earlier today I was the only hero in bloody bay with 5 or 6 villains. Rather than ganking me over and over, we arranged over broadcast some 1 on 1 duels. This was great fun. After a couple of battles I had to go afk, so I informed the villains i was duelling and asked them to not attack me while I was gone. I came back, and, lo and behold, they were good to their word and had not attacked me. After ten or fifteen minutes of various duels (i could never beat that one stalker) with various rules (I couldn't even beat him when he didn't use AS), I returned from the hospital and was arranging another duel when a spines stalker started attacking me. The other villains told him to stop but he kept it up so I started fighting back. As soon as I did he accused me of griefing him. We tried to have some more duels but this one stalker kept on deliberately ruining it. And when I finally dueled the stalker, he ran away as soon as I got his health below 50%. It all broke down into a big battle over the broadcast chat. My point? Just because it's possible to do it within the constraints of the game, it doesn't mean it's acceptable. If I wanted I tp a team-mate to a very high height and have them land in a high level mob, but do I? If you see people having an arranged 1 on 1 duel, leave them be.

EDIT: Oh, and don't ever give anyone the '1 V 1 IS FOR THE ARENA' [censored]. SHAMELESS PLUG!

Actually, the arena IS for 1vs1s. It's meant to be there as a controlled PvP environment rather than free-form like the zones are. If I kill you when you're having a "private" 1vs1 in a PvP zone, you'll get the same reply from me every time.

Posted

Personally, if I know someone is having an arranged 1 v 1 fight, I'll leave them alone...but as soon as it's over I will attack (assuming the villain won).

Posted

Ah but the arena is so [censored], under-used and impossible to find an opponent you can't really blame people for having 1 v 1 in PvP zones.

Just because you can do something, does't mean it's acceptable.

Actually, there was this thing a while back you might have heard of. It was called S4, and there were a whole LOAD of entrants. We also used to have PvP fights of maybe 10-14 people in the arena on most nights of the week, but now that the PvP zones have come in people are using the arena a lot less.

The arena isn't [censored], imo. It requires a lot more skill to win a fight in the arena than in an open PvP zone, because there are a lot more things you have to factor in when you fight in the arena. If you need an opponent, you just have to ask. If all else fails, you could always ask over SG chat and I'm sure one of us will oblige

In a PvP zone, everything is open. Every villain is avaliable to be attacked, and to attack. If it's within the games mechanics, and I'm not exploiting anything, then its acceptable in my opinion. Besides that, it takes all of maybe 2 minutes to send a tell to someone to ask if they want an arena duel, set one up, send them an arena invite (syntax is /ai <playername> in case you didn't know) and then start the match. Nobody can interrupt you in the arena, so you don't have anything to complain about.

One huge problem with the Arena is not being able to choose maps.

Weasel can quite easily dominate on the Town and Perez maps; but get him on the Cave, Balcony or Crey maps and a lot of his abilities get royally wrecked.

In Siren's etc. I can pick what ground I fight on to my advantage.

And I don't think Stalkers would like "No Stealth Powers" enabled

One thing I would like to ask though : When has falling damage been allowed to kill you?
