Stalkers in PvP
Glad you had fun LP. PM me with the build you eventually went with?

Ice/fire and devices blasters are a cool and effective anti stalker setup, come to defiant, Sirens call is usually fun when filled with the regulars.

It's funny, I was thinking only last week that rain of fire might be welcomed back into my build for pvp after I ridiculed it for 30 levels or so!!
Any AT that can pull out a continues AoE around themselves is practically immuse to stalkers, although Dominators dont get fooled twice.

There are ways around everything and only a poor stalker is reliant on AS

I didn't put it round myself - I dropped it occasionally on heros when they were about to get AS'ed (I could see the stalker approaching).
It was fairly obvious by the end of an hour who the 'good' stalkers were - they were the only ones left in zone... one of them even managed to get a hit on me without me seeing them before hand, in a truly spectacular fashion that I'll be stealing for my stalker
Energy Melee stalkers REALLY hurt though

Good you had fun LP thats what its all about really
Yeah I don't get the stalkers are overpowered theme myself. I don't play a stalker myself but I fall to them regularly(ask any of the regular stalkers in siren on defiant server) . I'm a kinetic/dark defender and as such I have no protection against their AS.
Now I accept I have no real chance to avoid faceplanting against them but does that mean they are overpowered? Not in my opinion. They have their stealth and AS going for them and thats it.

Docbot, my defender, is a kinetic/electric, if you have the repel power, and keep it turned on, I think it messes with a stalkers AS. Anytime they attacked me and i have the power on, I can only remember them scoring critical hits, not AS. Should give you at least a chance of getting away.
On the other side, I finally got my stalker to lvl 15 and spent the last 2 days in bloody bay with mixed results.

If repel works on the Stalker, they won't be able to use AS. If they move or take damage after they launch the attack, the AS is interrupted. So, if they were constantly being repelled away from you, they'd be stuffed and have to resort to a normal attack.

You can AS someone with repel on, its AOE effect is too small to prevent it. That said it requires more careful set up and many stalkers will not be aware they can get through it.

I do have repel and personaly I've had it work about 0% of the time against AS. I was really thinking of respecing repel out as I see no use for it except amusement factor plus it messes up our heal if we try and heal ourselves. If anyone has found any good use for repel in pvp aspect please let me know as I'd love to hear it
Could be that the stalkers on defiant just know how to work their thing and thats why it's useless
I dont think i've ever been AS'd with repel turned on, could be wrong though. One stalker attacked me, got pushed away and i heard him saying "oh. repel, bad idea!"
This guy seemed to know what he was doing as well.
Other than that, repel is a good panic button. Last night a team mate was getting swarmed by a MM pets and loosing energy fast. I put him on follow and pushed all the mobs away.

Now I'm well aware there's a couple of threads about this, but since everyone else see fit to start a new one ....
Seriously, this isn't another 'Stalkers are overpowered in PvP' rant.
I still have toons on the US servers. Lots of them. All with lots of banked respecs. Probably going to let the account lapse, so not that bothered about them. I have an Old Fire/Dev, back from when smoke grenade was king *sniff*. He even has a proper backstory, name and bio, he's that old...
So I rebuilt him for PvP, with targeting drone + leadership and all the single target blasts maxed out (+stealth). I had some advice from Syn, who PvPs a lot more than me and I took him for a spin in Sirens on Pinnacle. That's the Fire/Dev, not Syn.
Those poor stalkers. They'd get this close to someone and I'd snipe them and/or rain of fire them. some of them eventually quit, as they couldn't get out of their base without me going after them (left everyone else alone, apart from one MM who though he was safe in the base perimeter...).
Most of them were good sports and I ended up chasing one poor guy all around the zone. We eventually called it a draw and I logged.
So yes, I have a specific build that is great for single targets, particularly those with stealth. But given the paper scissors rock nature of PvP, this is not that surprising. A corruptor got hold of me and it was not pretty...
The only point of this post is to provide a counterpoint to all the 'stalkers are overpowered' ... no, they may well be over specialised, but regular ATs can stand up against them without gimping themselves in PvE...
Should you have to? Well, if you're willingly going into a PvP zone .... expect to see some people who take it very seriously.
P.S.
I had so much fun I'm seriously thinking of having the blaster moved over. Defiant or Union?
