Holding/messing with stuff has always amused the heck out of me more than blasts (which I find boring) and I'd love nothing more than to be a mind/ice double dominator 
Well, Ice assult powers can be slotted for slow, which is a kind of control.
I like my dominator.
I really should do something about this signature.
I'd probably slot them for slow if I had a clue how much and how long the slow effect of each lasts but we know how detailed the power descriptions are in this game :3

Yeah that would be cool, but then dominators would do even less dmg. Ive got a fire/fire dominator and I already take about 10 minutes to kil 6 even lvl mobs solo- mind you i dont get hit once during the 10 minutes!
Heres a though BTW: The Devs insist on making respecs overly difficult. With my main I only just managed the first respec on my 8th attempt. I was reluctant to take even 1 dominator in the team by that point.
When the mission is to kill 72 vines in stupidly quick time whilst getting shot at by something that can easily 2 hit you: who wants to take an AT that deals very little dmg? 
The Devs are creating discrimination in the game!
I've been toying with different alts over the last few days trying to find a main to play. That is until I rolled a mind/energy dominator which is great 
Domination is the best thing ever
I'll point out again that not all dominators are hard pressed to get damage out there. A properly slotted grav/energy dominator could be pretty devestating on average. I'd actually like to hear if any other combinations are conducive to blasting or not, or if I just got the best one for blasting damage.
Full set of SOs at level 32 taught me that the dom damage can be good. My pet out blasts me, but I out blap him. I guess it felt so low before because brutes and corruptors dont need SO's to get the high damage, Fury and Scourge does it for them. Stick it out till SO's then when domination hits you'll feel like a god............ or course when it runs out you can end up eating floor and building it up can sometimes feel painful, but for that brief time....................

Fury really kills damage comparisons for your average controller, yeah. Once a brute, early on, starts rolling he snowballs as fury comes in. Dominators not so, we get Domination one to three times per average mission. Still, I like that sweet Domination spot way more than I like brutes and fury for playing myself. Dominators rip apart bosses better than any corruptor or brute can claim. And face it, it's the bosses that are scariest, not usually the minions.
Yeah, always loved boss killing, I guess stalkers do it better than us, but we do it with style, and without causing everything else to attack us if we get it right............. I dont mind being second best at boss killing, suits me fine.

Was thinking of a Grav/Psi controller over the weekend. The damage combos would mean you'd never have an enemy whose resistant to all your attacks. Plus Psi has a long range so it might keep you out of trouble.

I've rolled one of those. Personally, the damage output strikes me as a bit floppy (10 with the first power, 25 for the next ranged one that has a rediculously animation, and abput 35 in a cone with psychic scream). However, the -recharge is nice (especially in pvp, when their most basic powers take forever to recharge). Mind probe does about 30-60 dmg depending on what your fighting, which is nice. Drain psyche has got to be the best power ever though. Jump into a mob, activate it, and leap to the back of the group. Your end bar WILL NOT go down. And you'll notice that you suddenly last longer than ever before with the +hp regen. Gravity is also great. Crushing field is awesome (aoe immob that recharges faster than it runs out... with DoT damage!) I also took the medicine set, as a grav/psi can draw quite alot of aggro. +130hp from aid self in battle can quite literally save your life. and the interupt time is only like 1 second, which won't really be stopped unless you've been poisoned or are taking continual dmg.
And keep in mind that /psi has some of the longest animations out there.
What I want to know is what the grav pet is like. Are there pictures of it? What does it do exactally? I NEED ANSWERS! >_>

Unless they changed the graphics it's a giant whirly ball of energy. Or to be a bit more accurate it's a bunch of rotating energy rings with lights inside.

Its like a pet tank/controller the sing is, very funky, very hard.

Well if it helps, have to say my mind/thorns dominator, has a far easier/faster time killing stuff than my corruptor did at the same level. The damage seems to be pretty good even on training origin enhancers.
I'm the other way around. My Dark Kinetics corrupter has a lot easier time of it than my Fire/Thorns dominator.
Mainly because the Fire/Thorns is such an aggro magnet with Fire Cages and the AOE of Thorns.
Anyone else ever wish you could play all your alts together in a team? It'd be such fun and I always seem to build mine so they compliment each other anyway.

Tried doing some timing. Against even con minions the slow from ice assault powers apears to last about 4 seconds, and reduces movment by about 20%. I think it is quite sensitive to level differences though. Can't realy tell what it does to attack rate, would need to try is against a human opponent.
I really should do something about this signature.
If I weren't booked for CoH tonight, I would have taken up that challenge, I've always wanted to try the arena, but haven't really had the opportunity.
My Ice/Dark corruptor wouldn't be doing anything much different than my Ice/Ice dominator.......... probably not much benefit from me teaming with myself

Playing a Mind/Psy dom.
I can tell you, you other dom's have got the damage down pat, although where my bonus comes in is if I sleep or hold them they don't attack back, which does increase my life expectancy somewhat.
So far I've only taken powers off my Main Mind set, the only Psy power I have is powerbolt and that only 2 slotted with one ACC and one DMG, but that's ok, I know a Grav Dom that I play with often and althogh he can hold them, his DoT is nice, compared to my one shot damage on only my single holds, but like I said, I sleep 'em they can't hit me.
Dom's pull a lot of aggro though, you don't even have to hit something for the mobs to go str8 for you ingnoring your teammates.
And of course, playing with another Dom / AOE'er can be a pain, 'cause you pull off a sleep and then they go wake 'em all up.
But one learns to live with it.
All in all, I love being a Dom & the people that I've played with (when they notice) love me for my sleeps and holds.
