Well invisibility usually stops you fom using any powers that affect others. It might stop you ordering your minions around but maybe they'll probably still attack people if you leave them in aggressive mode. That's just speculation though.
It doesnt stop you ordering them, but you cant buff your pets.
There's only one slight flaw in an otherwise cunning plan.
If you're seeing robots/zombies/ninja/mercs wandering around coordinating fire, then you're going to KNOW that there's a squishy mastermind nearby. After that it becomes a race between those chasing you trying to find you, and your minions whittling away their hitpoints.

then again, that's probably what sneaky use of goto and the half-decent command range is for; you can go invis and hide somewhere and play your minions like a point a click game. The range of goto isn't amazing but it's enough to make finding you rather tricky :3
PvP based it might be very handy, since your pets will be out of range anyway the no-buff doesnt mather anyway. Put it put together with fly and you can even manouver above/around them for a bit better overview.
Do note it seems the PVP zones do some pretty weird stuff to your pets AI. If you dont give them a "attack" order or put them in passive they start to run basicly everywhere, that is realy realy annoying. Second to that, i still dont understand why the battledrones (with superjump) never do a jump attack on those flying mobs/hero's.
Downside is their fairly low damage output, even 6 pets shooting 1 target takes a while to take it down, its more to annoy the hero's and even worse for the primairy-melee pets.

Yeah them MM like to think that they got a big shock when bam bean bag hit em square in the face. Even when your invisble its best not to stand around in a pvp zone if I can see ya then others can as well. 
What about combining invis with grant invis? Then there's a big crowd of invisible deeeeeewm and you can stay near them for the initial alpha strike :3
One thing i allways wondered, Does supremacy still buff your pets while using invis?
