Opinions on Fire/Dark build
Well, I'm following this build to the letter, and at lvl 20, I find it quite annoying when faced with 2 enemies who aren't close enough to be both affected by Fireball. Using Rain + Patch is a waste, as the cooldowns are still long at this lvl. And when the mobs are yellow, it's even worse.
Perhaps I need to get Blaze, to speed things up.

Use any obstacles you can to herd the mobs. It will be easier for your cone attack as well to hit them all at once. If you see 3 mobs standing close but not close enough for a fireball, hit one with fireblast and hide behind a box or corner. There are a lot of things in most missions which you can use to hide behind.
Rain of fire and tar patch is a great combo, but don't waste it on 2 minions. Wait for when you see a chance to herd a bigger group.
If you follow my build to the letter, I hope you mean the second build, because the first one is not that good
I know how to herd enemies. I use Darkest Night to herd mobs, as this skill will aggro anything standing between me and my victim.
My whole point was that, when facing 2 enemies, then fighting them is a tad bit annoying. I need Blaze I think, and the sniper shot. :P
PS. How does this build work out in PvP? I'm looking at the skills and I think it should do nicely, but than again theory is not always the same as the real thing.
So far my expirience in PvP (low lvl villains against not-completely-scaled-down-heroes-with-high-lvl-SO-buffs) is that PvP sucks. I had a go at a blaster yesterday in BB. Lucky me, a friendly brute had his full attention, so I could try and hit him without worrying too much. Besides the terrible accuracy in PvP, I seemed to be doign verry little damage (He's a blaster! They're supposed to be squishy, no?). And once the blaster turned on me, he took more that 50% of my health in a few hits. Lucky me, the healing worked, Darkest Night prevented any further attacks, and a nice Fire Blast in the back ended his existance in the end. But it didn't seem right at all...

I wonder... is Shadow Fall really that good? I was thinking of taking Flares instead of Shadow Fall, thus slightly modifying the build.

On my Dark miasma MM I wouldn't trade Shadow Fall for much. It's +20% resist to Psionics (pink Fortuna attacks. very few powers resist psi), energy and neg energy which is great.
But the best thing is that it's a Stealth power. Plenty of missions I've entered and there's a group right by the door. As a squishy it's very useful not to aggro them upon entering. Plus since it's AOE the team will be hidden too when they enter. Unless they summon, sometimes. If they summon the mobs may see the minions and attack.

I don't have a lot of experience in PvP atm, because I don't care about PvP until end game. So this is more of a PvE based build. For a PvP build I would try to take hasten and the single hold and slot more acc ench in the attack powers.
About your fight with the blaster, that's actually how it's always going to be. Blasters have burst damage due to build up, so it's quite normal for them to take out a lot of your health in a few hits. Their only change is to take the other one out quickly. We on the other hand don't have burst damage, so we need to be more patient in our killing. Lucky for us, our seconday supplies us with the skills needed for holding out in a long fight.
One last question about Shadow Fall.
You say it's a stealth power... does it mean I will have a limited stealth in PvP as well?
Yes, it provides stealth in PvP. Any +perceprion power will see right through it though.

Anyone knows the recharge time of fluffy and how long he lasts? Because I've read on the US boards that fluffy his recharge time is to long to have him on perma, even with 3 recharge so's.
on defenders i'm pretty sure recharge is 4 mins and duration is 4 mins, so when he goes you can get him back straight away. its pointless slotting recharges in cos u cant have more than 1 anyway, but on Tufty i can definately summon a new fluffy after the other has gone.
It's not entierly pointless.
I have a recharge in fluffy, because it lets me use my Fluffy Alpha Debuff Extravaganza opening to an AV/GM fight.

Ok, a PvP based question.
I have recently started a fire/dark build as I reckon due to the high damage, the capability to snipe and the potent debuffs will make it a very potent PvP build. What I'd like to know is, can Shadow fall and Super speed provide an effect that's close to invisibility, or is it still kinda worth taking seeing as stealth won't stack with Shadow fall.
And that Fluffy de-buff extravaganza tip is brilliant! I'll have to try that!

Uhm... a corruptor with SS is kind of a weird choice IMHO, even if it'd allow stealth. Also, I don't think SS gives stealth in PvP (as I always see enemy heroes with SS), barely aggro reduction on mobs.
SS does NOT provide any kind of stealth in PvP.
So, go for invisibility?
Flares has a slow, slow animation. With all the AoE options you have in fire, blaze and fire blast are usually enough to take care of the few single targets left.
