Anyone knows the recharge time of fluffy and how long he lasts? Because I've read on the US boards that fluffy his recharge time is to long to have him on perma, even with 3 recharge so's.

PS. How does this build work out in PvP?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't have a lot of experience in PvP atm, because I don't care about PvP until end game. So this is more of a PvE based build. For a PvP build I would try to take hasten and the single hold and slot more acc ench in the attack powers.
About your fight with the blaster, that's actually how it's always going to be. Blasters have burst damage due to build up, so it's quite normal for them to take out a lot of your health in a few hits. Their only change is to take the other one out quickly. We on the other hand don't have burst damage, so we need to be more patient in our killing. Lucky for us, our seconday supplies us with the skills needed for holding out in a long fight. -

Well, I'm following this build to the letter, and at lvl 20, I find it quite annoying when faced with 2 enemies who aren't close enough to be both affected by Fireball. Using Rain + Patch is a waste, as the cooldowns are still long at this lvl. And when the mobs are yellow, it's even worse.
[/ QUOTE ]
Use any obstacles you can to herd the mobs. It will be easier for your cone attack as well to hit them all at once. If you see 3 mobs standing close but not close enough for a fireball, hit one with fireblast and hide behind a box or corner. There are a lot of things in most missions which you can use to hide behind.
Rain of fire and tar patch is a great combo, but don't waste it on 2 minions. Wait for when you see a chance to herd a bigger group.
If you follow my build to the letter, I hope you mean the second build, because the first one is not that good -
I played a FF defender before CoV came out, and the main reason why I started a */dark corruptor is because the every 3 min shielding thingy started to annoy me. I wanted to be more active during fights. So now I can heal if I need to, but the real joy comes from the debuffing and control part of the dark set.
There are a lot of dark MM's out there, and most of them don't have a clue what valuable powers dark has. They take the heal and think that's all they need. But most seem to forget that debuffing speeds things up or makes you take on higher lvl mobs. -

/agree. Spot on. DN slotted 3x End Red and 3x Acc Debuff ftw!
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't slot 3 end red in DN (unless with TO's). 1 end red SO and 3 slotted stamina is all you need (and 3 tohit debuff SO's ofcourse).
Slap DN on the lt or boss, forget about him and kill the minions, then take on the debuffed target.
Tar patch is something I would take asap. Especially if you are all about AoE. Some AoE powers that are otherwise fairly useless (like Rain of Fire) are becoming real killers with tar patch. Put 3 recharge SO's in it. -
I think fire is a bit of a gamble in pvp, either you do a lot of damage to your target, or it gets totally resisted. Like one said, a lot of melee chars have pretty descent fire resistance.
Even if you plan to do a lot of group pvp fights, fire isn't really all that good I think. Sure you have a lot of aoe damage, but in group pvp battles, the heroes don't often stay side by side.
Ice/Cold seems to be the preferred pvp corruptor atm because slow is one of the least resisted powers.
That said, my main is a fire/dark corruptor, mainly because pvp isn't really my main goal. -
I think I've read somewhere that the more health the mob loses, the bigger chance of scourging. Also, I think the mobs health must be below 50% to be able to get a scourge off.
-
Good suggestion about recall friend, maybe I can wait with tactics and take recall friend instead, and take tactics when the lvl cap is raised.
I have a question about fluffy's darkest night. Is it a single target debuff or is it a targeted aoe debuff? I've read conflicting statements on the US boards about that. -
[ QUOTE ]
I really like your build and is a concept I will be rolling a Fire/Dark myself when I have time.
I think your build is pretty spot on. The only comment I would make would to suggest if possible get Darkest Night at the earliest opportunity and slot it as a priority. It's probably the best de-buff in the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thx for liking my build
About darkest night, I didn't really needed it at lvl4. At lvl8 it was about the right moment to get it, by then the LT's started to hurt me without itI will be slotting it a bit sooner than the build I've posted though, as it is indeed a very good debuff. For minions I don't bother though, they are dead fast enough to not really hurt me, especially with tar patch and rain of fire. If only tar patch could be up a bit faster

What I dont like about that build is 12-20 you're only gaining needed powers and nothing fun, I hate stretches like that, they drive me nuts, I'd probably move hover forward a bit to break it up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I'm at lvl 16 atm and I already feel the need for stamina so the next 2 powers I will choose will be for necessity reasons.
I think about every build has that annoying travelpower - stamina routine you just have to get past. Once you are past lvl20 and in SO range, the fun can begin -
Made a new build after doing a bit more research

Do you really need recharges in rain of fire? How often in a fight will it be useful? Probably only when tar patch is down.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I intend to use rain of fire a lotAnd only when tar patch is up. Rain of fire without tar patch is rather useless as they run out of the area, but like others said, with tar patch, fireball, rain of fire and fire breath, mobs die nicely and fast. No need for much slow enhancements as they don't live long enough
[ QUOTE ]
Fearsome stare and Petrifying Gaze are very powerful when slotted with fear/hold enhancements
[/ QUOTE ]
I know they are very powerfull, but I'm not trying to build a controller. I'm trying to make an offender, with a decent amount of defense. I'm not saying I don't want to slot those powers, but there are far to many good powers in both fire and dark, that I can't slot them allAt least, not until they up the lvl cap to 50. Then I'll prolly slot those powers too.
[ QUOTE ]
Base damage res from shadow fall probably makes those 3 slots a bit pointless
[/ QUOTE ]
To be honest, I don't really know how good this power is, but from the US boards dark defenders seem to love this power and most slot it with damage res enhancements. I think the biggest plus this powers gives you is the resistance to psionics. -
I've started myself a fire/dark build, as I thought it would turn out to be a good combo. Please feel free to drop some comments on my build.
