Its actually the ghost of Scrapyard, an apparantly monstrous lvl 30 Giant Monster who kicks some serious [censored] even when you are a high enough lvl to ignor the minions. I killed him on beta and you dont get a badge for him 
You do get the hammerhead badge for the minions though. I recommend going in with a rad debuffer for those who intend taking him down.

Yeah post-squishfest I went back with someone who was a rad debuffer 
there was about 16 people and I think I tagged him once, still got the xp though

ran into this guy a few days ago.
thought i'd tag him and bolt, just for the hell of it..
activated superspeed, superjump, targeted the GM, let of one blast and went to run.. i got maybe 2 steps.
anyone know if he spawns on his own and gathers minions or if he spawns with the 20 or so mobs i saw him with? i think on his own he'd be less of a problem as most of the damage i took was from the following crowd.
also, being a big fan of storylines, can anyone let me in on what missions/contacts may give this story in full? i heard the mob talking about him being killed by mako and i'm intrigued.
This guy is tough, I guess he doesnt scale like normal giant monsters cause the guy took out 4 of our 7 team members in 1 hit. ( My self included). And this is a team that took down the AV in the first strike force in 30-60 secs.

oops and I meant be 30+ too asmentioned he doesnt scale in the same way as the GMs of COH it seems. Bit miffed he doesnt give a badge and from what I heard neither does Deathsurge, any COV GMs that do give a badge for killing the GM?

Ok, not sure if it's been done before but i managed to broadcast and gather a large number of heroes and after awhile we took him down. At first we seemed to sustained no casuatlies till like 25% and then i saw about 5 corpses fall at once. I managed to get the killing blow too =D
Regardless, yes there was the Hammerhead badge for defeating his minions, and i also got the 'Hammer Down' badge for taking down the big man himself.
Awesome, we didnt get a badge for the GM on beta, guess they are starting to add the missing badges. Did you beat him after todays patch?

Yup we did, watched others try and bring him down too later in the day but they got wiped. You need a seriously big group to take him, lucky i suppose he was next to the ferry when we did it.
I was in the group that managed to take him down about 4.30 this afternoon, as a lvl 17 I wasnt much help, but boy was it a crazy fight, that guy took a whole bunch of us out in one swipe!!
No badges though, poop.
Speaking of the hammerhead badge...You can also recieve that if you help repel the massive random attack of scrapyarders on the Arachnos outpost. I've only seen it once, although I haven't spent that much time on Sharkhead. Was lovely fun though, seeing them splatter against the drones and my team 
As for taking Scrapyard down...It is hard, yes, and you'll need more than one team unless you outlevel them by a buttload. The burning patches from the demolishers in his entourage hurts like -heck-, even if they're all grey to ye.

was talking to the pirate contact in sharkhead (arr...) and as i turned to run in the direction of the arbiter (mish maybe past it, cant remember) i noticed this huge group of scrapyard and something big and blue. cue numerous sticks of TNT, a large blob of red damage and me on the floor wondering what happened. res'd and follow him, wathcing his group nail everything it came across. planned revenge and got a team together. things went slowly, and unfortunately one of the minions annoyed an arbiter drone near the ferry which proceeded to wipe out everything hostile, INCLUDING THE BLASTED GHOST WE WERE FIGHTING!!!

WHAT!?! Just curious as to if anyone's tried forming a team to take him yet, i was unfortunate enough to SJ past what i *thought* was a mob of angry scrapyarders, only to be annihilated seconds later. Upon further inspection, returning to the scene of the crime, i see the faint outline of what appeared to be a big hairy lumberjack in the middle of the crowd. I saw another Brute accidentally SS past him moments later, yet apparently not fast enough.
As for spawn points i'm not sure, this incident was to the right after you get off the ferry, just past the end of the first big building.
