I've been playing City of Heroes since the first day of the beta and i've loved every minute! So i have been playing a while now, i've created tons of alts and if i had stuck with a charachter i would have my PB by now. As of recent i created doomsayer, my fire ice tank. I've been through te hassles tanks have been given and am still working him to 50, i love tanking and have made some good friends keeping with the same charachter.

The idea of khelds getting made available at an early level simply boils my blood! You dont get any fancy FMV or anything like that for hitting 50, you get a badge and a kheld! Hell thats good enough for me!!! Change it you're going to wind up a load of the 'old school' players!!

Khelds are just another AT, you either love them, or you hate them. I personally can't get into any of mine, but, I have only played a WS to level 12, so I can't give a real opinion.
The free travel power makes the early levels go faster, which is quite fun...just a shame the missions are like utter hell to solo!

I never found my Peacebringer hard to solo with, particularly. Sure, there were one or two "oh [censored]" moments, but he rocks.

Peacebringers don't really come into their own until the late teens/mid twenties, when the melee attacks start to arrive.

Nova is fun, and has the basic use of "now you will die". Dwarf is very dull, in my opinion. It's pure damage absorption, with as much damage output as a potato. It is useful, however, as a way of putting off faceplants.

Build up > Nova > AoEs > Dwarf is a very reliable way of taking out half a mob without tasting pavement. I usually finish mobs off in Human, because it can do a bajillion times more damage.

Oh, and voids are fun! It's a challenge to see if you can Incadescent Strike them before they make you into paté.

you could have my kheldian...unfortunately its all gone to the americans....

I want to throw my support in with those 'you can have mine', 'they suck' type comments above.

I don't like them, I don't think that they are very much of a worthwhile reward for reaching level 50. I don't think the word 'Epic' describes them at all.

Maybe when you ding 50 it should instead say 'Congratulations, you have unlocked new ill-conceived ATs!'.

Shrug. They don't seem well thought out.

Personally I don't think we should need a reward at 50. It promotes powerlevelling far too much. I wonder, if the khelds were in fact unlocked at 40 (for example), would we see as many 50s? Or would those PL bunnies just stop at 40, since now believe they are 'epic' *spits*.

'Congratulations, you played through pretty much everything we have made for you, now do it again, with an AT that we haven't finished.'

They should make reasons to BE 50, rather than reasons to stop there.

Meh.

I have to disagree with the 'they suck' and 'not a worthwhile reward for reaching lvl 50' comments.

My PB is lvl 35 ATM and i thoroughly enjoying playing him.

To me he does feel epic and a decent reward for reaching 50.

That said, I entirely agree that there should BE reasons to be 50 apart from a reward, like extra content etc.

I imagine my lvl 50 toon is much the same as a lot of lvl 50 toons, played infrequently to help high lvl 40 somethings and to generate influence for my other toons.

Just an observation, but the ones who seem to get on with Kheldians the least are those who hit 50 with a tanker or a blaster. Kheldians,in their human form, are akin to blasters with shields, neither of which are as powerful as the "real thing". Tanks *generally* complain that they are too squishy, and I've heard complaints that "they can't blast properly" (they can't get a good Human attack chain for a long time if you go 3-form).

I came from a defender, so I was impressed by the damage and thought the shields to be a nice addon, nothing more.

I think of Kheldians more of "something that happens when you hit level 50", more than a reward. If you play the game all the way to 50 for the sake of a Kheldian, then you'll probably be disappointed. They are only godlike if you can use them well (the same as any AT); they have a weird playstyle and there are more than a few problems (slotting, for one).

That said, the Kheldian story arcs are cool!

[/ QUOTE ]An anti-Void gun! They have energy that hurts us, why can't we have something to hurt them!

A temp power would be lovely!

Voids aren't a problem. Go melee. Stand toe to toe with them. Build Up, IS, RS, dead void.

A base damage increase would be nice though.

My first 50 was a blaster, my first character was a blaster, my alts were defenders and controllers, yet now, after having a warshade (more in a bit), I couldn't find a single AT better than my WS, who I also got to 50, and no regrets there. I'm not running my PB through the 30ish.

I peronally went tri-form with my WS, and done no human form blasting. The WS in human form, for me, was nothing but a buff between forms.
Also, I found a great human attack chain with my PB, and it is also nothing like blasting. More like scrappers (with shields) and a few ranged attacks I had to pick.

I did that with my blasters, and I know at least 6 other people who are doing that right now, just to have a kheldian.

Sorry, I'm not sure if you're including me in this observation, but since my post was 2 above you maybe you did. Just wanted to note that though he's not listed my main used to be Skull Bender, an Illusion/Empathy controller. He dinged 50 before I started working on Tech, but has been erased from most people's memories as I5+ really hurt him.

I knew that MIB neuralizer would come in handy one day.

Oops, by the way, take a look at this glowing red dot O *pushes button on neuralizer*.

Muahaha.

My first 50 has been a controller, not a tanker(2nd one)..
Now I'm trying again my hand at the WS and I have to say it ain't THAT bad...
You just have to do loads of stuff not as good as any other AT, they're a mix of everything, hence not very good in anything..
