Much as I appreciate your enthusiasm, GC, I once again find myself having to point out the rules about 'bumping' threads - and now 'spamming'.

Please, don't do either.

Thanks Bridger, was going to post about that myself but thought "Would that be spamming aswell..?" Anyway, I have more ideas.

I want to go back to my idea about "random happenings" that I had a long time ago. The basic idea is, random things would happen after a certain amount of time after completing something (finishing a TF, defeating a GM, receiving a badge ect.) just to spice up the game a bit more.

Each event would be short but fun, so that you will not be left with a timed mission with an AV at the end when you decided to go badge hunting at three in the morning because you cannot sleep. Instead, they would include things like;

Completing a TF:
The hero/other who gave you the TF would come over to you and thanks you for your help, but that they had forgotten something. They could either;

Ask you to receive a reward which they lost somewhere, so you would have to travel to different parts of the zone to find it (a glowie basically) but, they would have to be within 100 yards of where you are when they say "Hey, thanks for the help but.."

Ask you whether you actually did take them out, this would open a small mission where you would have to look around a small map for a boss/AV you defeated in the TF, sometimes they will still be concious, sometimes they will be lying on a bed. In order to complete the mission, defeat them (since they are weakened from the fight, they would be turned into minion level, so that minion damage, health, end..) or you would have to defeat any guards around them and click on their body (glowie.) completing the mission.

You could have to explain to them what happened, but to do this you will have to remember how the TF went. So they could ask you what happened when you went to take out old Slinky Brain or whatever ( ) and you would have to click on an option in the dialogue box which actually works along with the mission in the TF, so in this instance, you would click on "Oh he went down like a slinky on stairs, but he did bounce back a few times."

For completing these, you would get a third level inspiration, DO/SO, TFO (Taskforce Origin, more on this later..) or special salvage if you have access to a base.

Defeating a GM:

When you defear a GM, what happens? You get some experience, bit of inf/prestige, maybe a badge, but that's it... How about something actually happening about it instead of a guy walk past called Wendy saying "Wow, Generic hero 1028475230 defeated Lusca!" How about, faction face-off?

This idea is basically, most villain groups have an enemy group, what about by defeating a GM that has something to do with a villain group who has enemies other then heroes, you get a temp power? Call enemies? It could work by, say, you defeat Eochai, by doing this you get some Cabal come up to you and begin praising you, or some Tuatha de Dannon come up to you and begin to praise you? From here, you can do a small mission for them, then you get a temp power to call for help from that villain/hero (gotta think of CoV) group? They would last for five minutes, then they would be attackable, but they will not attack you or anybody else first. You can only use these three times every 15 minutes, but once they are summoned, the only way to get rid of them is to defeat them.. Fun

Badge(r)s:

When you get a badge for defeating a certain amount of enemies, wouldn't they be mad? If you get a badge for keeping other heroes alive, wouldn't villains still be mad? If you debuff villains till they hit single digit numbers, wouldn't they just be madder? Yes, they would. So, what about, every now and then when you get a badge, something happens depending on the badge? For example;

Debt: Debt badges, rewards for failure or pure heroic deeds. When you get one of these badges, how about the hospital teleporters might give up on you due to "overuse"? When you get the badge, the next time you are defeated, you do not get the "go to hospital" option, but, you are given a temp power instead. This temp power revives you, and when you are back on your feet, you are completely invulnerable, but you cannot effect people or be effected, nor can you use any powers (no sprint/siphon speed/teleport ect.) This effect would last for a minute, which is more then enough time to run to safety. This power would have a recharge time of three hours and only be able to use it ten times.

Other possible events could be, when you get a badge for defeating a certain type of enemy, you get a spawn of them come after you like an ambush. They would have to be -2 levels compared to the person who got the badge, so not to be overpowering.

Each one of these special rewards only have a 15% chance of happening, just to make them a bit more random. You can collect more then one of each temp power, with a maximum of three.

TFO's

No not UFO's, TFO's, I am not suggesting another Rikti invasion.. TFO's are, you guessed it, Task Force Origin. Alot of people are getting tired of doing TF's because they heard "Oh, it's the most boring one evah" or "Oh yeh you can see whats going to happen, it was so repetytive"

TFO's would be awarded for completing TF's. They would be different to other enhancements because 1) They are available for all levels, but will be awarded three levels above your current level on completion of the TF. 2) TFO's give you a choice of what they enhance, so when you put it into a power a window comes up with all the different types of enhancements the power can take, you click on the one you want it to be and it will be put into the power as that enhancement (a small "Are you sure?" window would appear though). They would enhance the power somewhere between a DO and SO, but this could be coupled with Random Happenings so that some of them give you the choice of the TFO enhancing more then one aspect of the power, say, 20% chance for two choices and 5% chance for three choices. You will only be awarded one of these at the end of a TF, but if the contact that gave you the TF comes up to you afterwards (See Random Happenings) then you could get two.

Those are my idea, what do you think?

Actually, I post every single idea in my head, not just the best ones. Oh, and here's one aswell.

New Dominator primary: Death control;

Undead assist: Undead beings from beneath the earth grab on to a targetted foe, holding them in place, but the undead you summon can be defeated in battle; Recharge: short; Damage: minor

Bone spear: You make a giant bone erupt from the ground underneath a targetted foe, causing them to be thrown into the air and to land stunned; Recharge: Moderate; Damage: Moderate

Fallen comrade: You show the body of a fallen ally of your foe, causing those of the same faction to trmble in fear. You must be near the defeated body to be able to use this power; Recharge: slow

Rib cage: You summon giant rib cages to stop many foes in their tracks, but they are still able to attack; Recharge: slow; Damage: minor

Well sorry, but my mind has gone blank and I need to be up in the morning, I shall post the rest when I am alive.

*/Fire and */ice blasters:

I have noticed, that compared to energy/electricity, fire/ice (this in manipulation, not blast) are very very slightly lacking in power. Now before I get flamed to death, I understand the secondary is called support and the powers are different because they are more about control/melee form of primary.

This is my idea for fire/ice, instead of the level 38 power you get now, how about you get a pet instead? So basically, a power from them would have to be taken out. I believe that hot feet from fire manip would be a good plan to be replaced by fire imps, and frozen fists to be taken out of ice manip for jack frost, which would also mean that at level 2 you would be able to get ice sword from ice manip, which would help blasters with /ice do more damage from an earlier level.

Also, with support being the name of the secondary, I would say that the reinforcements of pets for blasters would be support. What do you think?

Alrighty, new ideas. Epic AT for CoV, first of all, how to unlock it..

A series of missions from Grandville which test your eeeeeevilness.

Mission one) Plant bombs in Steel Canyon. You are set loose upon Steel Canyon in a Mayhem Mission, but the objective is to plant bombs around the statue in the middle, then blow it up. Once done you get a cutscene of the statue falling over into a building and everything crashing down with a loud BANG!

Mission two) Defeat all in area. You can set loose in a Mayhem Mission inside of Perez Park, it is your job to take out all of the Skulls/Hellions/Clockwork/Circle of Thorns/Hydra in the area, including Kraken which will spawn if you are lucky. The enemies will be put up to your level.

Mission three) Steal Flag on top of Atlas Park city hall. Mayhem Mission in Atlas, objective is to get to the flag, take the flag, then take it back to a *safepoint*. On the way there, +1 Longbow will ambush you, once at the flag a random signature hero will spawn (Back Alley brawler, Sister Psyche ect.) and once you have defeated them you have to return, +2 Longbow will ambush you on the way. Once you are back to the *safepoint* you will be asked to destroy the flag by using it as a weapon to take out a high ranked Longbow. A large group of Longbow will ambush you, which includes a Hero class Longbow officer. You will have a temp power called 'Impale' which makes you use the flag as a weapon, you must use it as the finishing attack for the mission to be complete.

Mission four) Invade Longbow base. You will be asked to get into a Longbow base, defeat all Longbow inside and steal a secret device inside. A simple smash and grab.

Mission five) You will be asked to take the device to the sewer system in Paragon City. You will have to navigate yourself through it and plant the device in the middle, then take explosives to the entrances of the sewer system, once done you have to escape through Boomtown. A cutscene will happen which shows the sewer entrances exploding and all that is left is a pile of rubble

Mission six) You will not be teleported into the Abandoned sewer system and asked to go into the sewer system again because the device did not activate, so you must fight your way through Rikti and Hydra until you find a door which leads to the sewer system. Once there, you will find even level Vahzilok which will attack you and come in large ambushes every 5 minutes. When you make it to the device, you must activate it. A cutscene then happens showing a green gas filling the sewers and you falling over as if you were defeated.

Mission seven) You were infected with a virus which is the same as the vahzilok virus you can get on CoH. You can get rid of it by going into Atlas Park as a Mayhem Mission, run through it to the sewer system and destroy the rubble in the way, go down into the sewer system, destroy all even level vahzilok/Hellions/Skulls in your way (They would have the virus aswell, so will be extra easy to defeat) and you must find a hold in the ground, click on it to go into a new area called 'The Pit'. Enter mission eight.

Mission eight) Defeat all in your way, find cure for yourself. You are now in a section of the Abandoned Sewer System, you must find your way through it, fighting Hydra and Vahzilok on the way. You will find a very big room, which contains an Archvillain Doctor Vahzilok, but this one has extra implants like Rikti armour and teleporting devices, cue a cutscene of Doctor vahz and a large group of Rikti fighting, this is where you can make a choice. Either fight the Rikti and get Doctor vahz on your side, fight Doctor Vahz and have a temp power to summon a large amount of Rikti monkeys (10 uses, no recharge), or fight them both for an extra 20% XP with the mission bonus. It does not matter which choice you make, as long as you can complete the mission by defeating whoever you chose to defeat.

MISSION COMPLETE! YOu HAVE NOW UNLOCKED AN EPIC ARCHETYPE!

Madman.. Shall explain this in the next post.

Madman;

Primary: Melee
Secondary: Ranged
Inherit: Killing Spree; When you have defeated 50 enemies, you gain a 100% damage boost, 50% accuracy boost and 100% defence boost for 3 minutes.

Primary: Three choices of which primary set, 'Blades' 'Electronics' and 'Bare Hands'

Blades: This includes knives, machetes and axes.
Electronics: This includes Chainsaws, Circular Saws and drills
Bare Hands: This includes breaking bones, poking eyes and throws

Secondary: Two choices for the Secondary set, these include 'Throwing Weapons' and 'Boomers'

Throwing Weapons has throwing axes, throwing knives and maybe a heavy rock.
Boomers include shotguns, hand guns and missle launchers.

I am not sure on what powers you could have, but 12 powers per set would work I think.

What do you think?

New powerset: Tech Gauntlet

I'm not sure what AT this could belong to, possibly a blaster secondary/scrapper primary

Power Claw Strike: You extend blades from your fingers on the Gauntlet and strike your enemy for moderate damage; Recharge: Moderate; Effects: -Def

Spiked Fist Slam: Large spikes come from your Gauntlet and you slam the enemy hard, possibly causing the enemy to become disoriented; Damage: High; Recharge: long; Effects: Disorient

Power Fist Punch: You punch your enemy in the chest, causing damage and knocking them back; Damage: Moderate; Recharge: fast; Effects: Knockback

Power Saw Cut: You create a circular saw from your Gauntlet, it does moderate damage against normal enemies but extreme damage vs objects; Damage: Moderate/special; Recharge: Long; Effects: Does extreme damage vs objects

Power Claw Spin: You extend the power claws from your fingers and spin in a circle, causing damage to all foes within melee range; Damage: Moderate; Recharge: Long

Power Fist Slam: You charge your Gauntlet with energy and hit the enemy in the head for high damage and a disorient; Damage: High; Recharge: Moderate; Effect: Disorient, knockdown

Power Fist Grapple: You shoot a spike at a targetted location, and use it as a grapple to pull yourself there. Similar to teleport but a shorter range and if used while targetted an enemy, it will cause moderate damage to them and bring them to you; Damage: Moderate; Recharge: fast; Effect: Short range teleport/teleport foe

Power Fist Web Bomb: You shoot a web grenade from the Gauntlet at a targetted location, all enemies who are within the area will be immobolised with a webgrenade and any enemies who enter the zone shall be slowed; Recharge: Long; Effect: Immobolisation, Slow, -fly, -recharge

Power Fist Energy Strike: You charge your Gauntlet with energy and jump into the air, hitting the group with it. The resulting attack causes a shockwave which causes damage, knockback and disoriant; Damage: High; Recharge: Long; Effects: Knockback, disorient

I'll proberbly have more ideas later, but how's this for now?

I'm back, and I have an alright idea.

Something has been bugging me lately. I have been playing on villains alot and so have been listening to alot of the atmospheric music being played, and I thought, wouldn't it be great to have that on my computer so I could listen to it whenever.

So how about, you can download the music from CoV from the website, but only if you have an active account ( so you log in and download the music )

Reason being is that the main CoV soundtrack I really like and would like to listen to while playing on heroes, or a completely different game.
(if you can already do this, then that means my ideas are so good they are put in before I think of them )

Hey dude, I'm completely flabbergasted that one mind can have so many ideas, its awesome. There are people who would pay top dollar for the imagination you have.

HEY BRIDGER.

The best idea for you guys would be to give this guy a job, you'd never run out of stuff to put into CoX.

There are a couple of real gems of ideas in there and a few that are way out there. All I can say dude is all the best in whatever computing field you end up in

Here is a new idea for a way for Cryptic to get more money to help make CoH/V better then it is now. How about, creating clothing with the costume designs from ingame? You could have a Fade Lines T-shirt, Checkers Trousers or even a pair of Tribal Gloves? I personally would like the lines detail from CoH on some of my clothing, and I'm pretty sure some other people would like this aswell.

Probably because the cost of maufacture on tee shirts is as high as what people would expect to pay for them, especially on limited runs. This is why tee-shirts are often used as promotional advertising - they are sold at a loss.

I really should do something about this signature.

Right, after looking at the third year of veteren rewards, I have been inspired

Origin specific travel powers.

After doing a certain thing, or reaching a certain goal, you can unlock an origin specific travel power and a respec to get it if you so desire. These travel powers would be epic and special, here is what I had in mind...

Technology: Mech; You summon a large mech which you climb into and control. It travels by a mixture of superspeed and superjump. Although a good combination, each are not as fast as their average travel power selves. While in this thing, you cannot attack any enemies but you have mez protection.

Pro: Very defensive and looks cool
Con: Has limited verticle movement

Natural: Vehicle; I know what you are thinking, but how about a new way of doing this which wouldn't break the game? Let's say you get three options; car, bike and 4X4. Each of these have different properties which can help you travel differently. The car is fast but is harder to drive and low armour. The bike is fast and is easier to drive then the car, but it has lower armour. The 4X4 is slightly slower then a car, is about the same to drive but it has higher armour.

When you use the power, you enter a mission version of the city, where you get those invisible walls around the place which stop you from going into water, down stairs ect. While trying to get to your destination which would be in the same place as in the normal map. While driving your vehicle, you have to keep away from the cars on the road. If you hit one, you take a certain amount of damage and you cannot move for a short amount of time. You will also get villains from the zone try to attack your vehicle. Once your at your destination, you go back to the normal zone and you come down the road near your destination and get out/off your vehicle.

Pro: Looks cool to do, can be faster then normal travel, possibility of badges for getting to your destination.
Con: Cannot be used in hazard zones

Magic: Mystic step; You turn into a ghost-like being which can fly and teleport to destination markers on the map, you basically turn into an invisible person in the normal map, but your body stays behind. This can be done by simply having a copy of your character left at the activation point. While in this form, you cannot be seen by any villains or heroes, and no other powers can work on you. Some magic origin villains will be able to see you and attack, if they attack you, the power will be deactivated and you would not have traveled anywhere.

Pro: Can go from anywhere on a map to anywhere else near a marker in a few seconds, it also leave you intangable and invisible
Con: Can be interrupted

Mutation: Your body shoots into the air due to an unknown mutation, when this happens you end up in another zone with no map or anything. You are above the clouds, above the zones. From here you can fly to anywhere you want, but only if you know where it is without a marker. You can fly from zone to zone, by simply flying in the direction you want to go then turning off the power when your above your destination.

Pro: Can go from any zone to any zone
Con: The are no map markers, so you have to know how far you need to travel, how far you have traveled and which direction you have gone in. It can be hard to get to exactly where you want to, but if you are expeirenced with this power you could get anywhere you want.

Unfortunatly, I cannot think of one for science origin, but I think you can see what I mean here. Any feedback is welcome.
