I'm about to hit 50 for the very first time on my Fire/Kin Corrupter and I REALLY want to try a SOA.

My question is this:

I want a down and dirty , in your face toon with the ability to take some punches and deal some hurt. Basically, I want as far away from my corrupter as I can possibly be.

any recommendations on AT or build ? Thanks in advance.

Well, I would think that a Bane might fit that... but honestly, any of the VEATs will roxxor. A soft-capped Widow is your friend, as I hear tell. Personally, I have a Huntsman that I am absolutely loving to death.

Also, get a team of VEATs and watch the invulnerable players wreak havoc on unsuspecting NPCs.... it is bliss.

hey , thanks for all the replies. It looks like night widow will be my choice. By the way , what is a huntsman , I don't see it listed anywhere?

The Huntsman is a sort of 'unofficial' variant on the soldier AT - it's the name that's been given to a spider that sticks mainly with the wolf spider gun attacks, probably dipping into the bane trees for such goodies as surveillance, the bane armor, or build up. It usually also takes extra power pool leadership powers with any leftover power choices. It ends up playing somewhat like a more team-focused doppelganger of the crab spider - they both put out tons of AoE, and the huntsman trades a bit of personal protection and some of the crab tricks for more team buffage and some of the bane tricks. And, of course, you lose the silly legs and become about 276197547 times more badass looking (imo, of course).

There's a nice guide to the huntsman here, written by Aisynia (who popularized the concept and came up with the name).

This is what it means to be a tank!

Either Bane or NW, the NW can take a hit fair bit more than the Bane once the scaling resist kick in. And they have DDR, which the Banes lack, for whatever reason.

The Banes have some nice KD affects, a nice smashy feeling, and nothing says I Love you more than a Executioners Strike while hidden.

If you want a real challenge you can make your crab a tank like mine. However, anything works, honstly. A great way to start dabbling in the SoA pools are by seeing if you can even levl one of them to 24. Once you get that far it's all pretty self-explainatory.

I just got my SoA to 50 on Friday. I'm gonna recommend going Bane. You get pretty good defense combined with good damage and the ability to crit... I feel completely and obnoxiously awesome when playing him.

Up to Lv. 24, he felt awesome right off the bat. You'll have fun with your SoA no matter what you pick - I've honestly never heard of anyone not doing so.
