unlike say going to random places and asking folks.
to give an example I have seen someone posting in the ARs technical forum , city of heroes section trying to get folks whom would be otherwise unintrested in voting to vote on their particular person so that person a would edge out person b

Its a FAN art battle that should be able to be appreciated by any FANS of the game.
And how come having an admitted bias is OK just because you're an artist? Bias is bias. I'm not saying its wrong for you to want Shia to win... but then don't say other people who might be voting on just the pieces themselves shouldn't vote just because they don't happen to frequent this forum.

If I'm still aloud to vote, I'm saying Tacky Tricky. There were a few really good ones that made it hard to decide, but Tricky Tacky just had the most style. Good Stuuf all around!

Yes. My point WAS that you saw people pandering for votes... but did it actually make a difference? I asked that question BECAUSE you never said it actually had a bearing on the vote.
So... you supported my point. There was pandering but not an unfair outcome. So why can't we try to let a lot of people participate? The few bad apples DIDN'T spoil the fun for the bunch!
If there really was a month that had an unfair win because of pandering in other sections, I would have totally agreed with you. I wasn't asking to be mean or accusing, I was asking because you only spoke of the pandering, but not of someone winning who maybe shouldn't have.

Well, that wasn't when I was asking the question... so you're right, it wasn't straightforward.
It was sarcasm, but I was doing so in a playful manner. Admittedly, I could have put a smiley or something in there. So if it was offensive, I apologize.

Sure - I put a blurb in my sig, with a link to these threads, encouraging people to come here and vote - and I include a link to MY entry. Other people put links to their work in their sigs. I've posted a couple of threads in some of the Server forums encouraging people to come here and look and vote for thier favorite piece of art. I've even blurbed a few times on broadcast in game to come vote for your favorite peice of art (but I try not to do it more than a couple times on any server). I've been doing that for several of the month's battles - but I really try not to be excessive about it.
I was just trying to get more people to join in the fun. I didn't see the harm in that. If that was objectionable - well, it wasn't intended to be.
Don't worry Apro, if there is any confusion about spreading the word among the forums then everyone can refer to the first post where TA advises everyone to make sure and get the word out that anyone on the boards can vote in this contest.
