Has the badge text of any Vet award/power ever been different between heroes and villains?
I just think it'd be a little weird if they actually were different that way.
Let's just say I'd never ask that kind of question about them at any rate. *shrugs*

P.S. Congrats Turgenev. I guess you only got this one a week too early this time.

[/ QUOTE ]

The flavor/body text, differs on some example

And thanks!

[/ QUOTE ]
Well I obviously never bothered to compare them. That's why I asked the question in the first place.

But honestly if had to have guessed about this I would have assumed there were no factional differences. It's not really all that intuitive that Vet badges which could apply to any -player- regardless of what characters they are playing would have those kinds of differences.

I'm not suggesting it's right or wrong, good or bad.
Just something I would not have really expected to see. *shrugs*
I guess as they say you learn something new everyday.

Is the fog-of-war lifted permanently from the zone when you use the power, or does it come back once you log out or leave the zone, and then you'll have to use the power again once you come back to the zone?

Good question. Maybe Terg will answer that for us.

But as an educated guess I'd say this power affects a zone exactly the same way a player would. In other words the removal of the fog of war in zones has always been permanent so I don't see any reason why this power would work differently for that. The Devs would've had to go out of their way to make it be -less- useful for us and I just don't see that kind of effort wasted on this.

Besides I figure it'd make this silly little power that much more silly if we kept having to reuse it on zones over and over again.

Confirmed: It's perma.

You have to "claim" the item under Vet badges. The power's data:

Activation: 1.5s
Recharge: 5m0s
Accuracy: 1.00x (It'd be funny if a map could have a DEF against this)

[/ QUOTE ]
Five month recharge???
Oh, 5 minutes, 0 seconds. Carry on.

(Yes, I really did read it as 5 months initially.)

Does it clear multiple leves for mission maps (i.e. - an office with 4 floors)?

<QR> So out of curiosity.. does it work on your mission map?

[/ QUOTE ]

MB: Works on mish maps. The graphic for it doesn't kick off as well though. You get the device animation, but not the awesome "holodeck" grid superimposition like you do in a zone.

[/ QUOTE ] To expand on this.. While on a mission map, does it clear it only for yourself, or does it affect the rest of the team as well (since we uncover the map differently in missions).

Well at least I can see why they bothered to put something like this on a 5 minute timer. It's a cool looking effect but I could just imagine people using it to grief public gatherings like costume contests or whatever.

Yes and no; it's not nearly as spammy duration0wise as Freezing Rain, which has about 10 secs on the FX timer, for instance. The whole effect, from start to finish, took about 2-3 seconds, and went away neatly. We were testing this on objects as well (players, benches, vehicles), and the textures only overlaid on the actual terrain and stationary objects: People and vehicles were unaffected.

(Hmm. I didn't try atop the blimp...)

'sides, anyone who's been here for 63 months? I'm far less inclined to say they'd use this for spamming CC's and whatnot, especially when there are far more efficient spamming powers out there (like the ice armor drive-by buffs).

I was just coming at it from the "why did they bother to make it have a 5 minute timer at all?" perspective. If this thing only had a 10 second timer then things might be different. On the other hand 5 minutes is definitely more reasonable than say 30 minutes.

As far as 63 month Vets being "mature" enough not to spam powers to grief, well, let's just say there could be old timers out there who'd easily be bored enough to be tempted if it were easily possible with a Vet power any of them could have regardless of AT/powersets. I doubt there will ever be a Vet power that'll "overlook" that possibility.

On a related note, it would be nice if the entire AE studio was under the power suppression field and not just Studio B....

Does anyone's account that has NOT gotten this awarded list an award date for this badge? In other words, does your account say "Badge will be awarded on August 1st" for instance?

[/ QUOTE ]

Since that part hasn't been updated yet, no. But I do have "To be Announced August 1" or whatever. That's my bill date.

Well I was gonna ask if there was some reason this badge wasn't awarding, but apparently "da devs hate meh" again, so it's off to file a bug report.

It's not just you. Sadly I've had to petition for several of my last 5 or 6 Vet badges. It now seems completely random as to whether or not I'll get a Vet badge to properly trigger automatically as it should. I could understand the thing either working or not working, but the fact that it's different for me each time is extra annoying.

I had a look at the screenshots, and the displays you're seeing are the Pet and Power Attributes windows. Both are in-game features.

To activate the Pet window, you need to go into your options, and "Enable" the pet window option. The word "Pet" will then appear in your team window which you can click on to open the separate pet window.

To activate the Power Attributes window, open up your Powers window, and click on Power Attributes. Select the desired attributes you want to monitor. It's a pretty nice feature.

Both windows can be placed anywhere on your screen, according to your preference. I place mine up top.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.

Thank you.

I don't play Villains, so I didn't know.

I monitor power attributes (specifically, debt, exp to next level, and inf) on all my characters, hero and villain. Talek also monitors things like threat level (for his invisible characters, it tells him if he's visible or not) and speed (if super speed is on or not), as well as various other useful notes.

Pet window can be handy for controllers, as well, but since heroes have less control over their pets than MMs, mostly they don't use it. GR might change that, however, and the fact that pets will now zone with us may also make the pet window more handy in hero zone.

Windows. Love 'em, use 'em.

You're welcome.

Also, to be clear, the Power Attributes are for your toons, not for your pets. My apologies if I made it seem like they were related in my previous posts. The power attributes feature can be used to monitor your individual toons, such as defense, regeneration and recovery rates, for example. Very helpful for heroes and villain alike.

I also use the pets window on all my toons, both red and blue side. Certainly, it is probably most handy for Masterminds, but all pets show up in this window, including the powers/buffs used by those pets.
