I don't think dm has enough AoE to be able to farm quickly.

[/ QUOTE ]

You haven't seen my DM/Regen farm the Cimeroran Wall then, have you? I routinely take out Cimeroran Spawns several times faster than AoE centric Brutes and Scrappers because Shadow Maul is absolutely *awesome* (it may only hit 5 targets, but it will come back up more than twice as fast). Mg+Smite to get them to group up around me. Throw down with Soul Drain. Bounce back to get a 5 person Shadow Maul (which will get me 5 kills thanks to Soul Drain). Siphon+Smite+MG (kills 2-3 more targets) and then another 5 man Shadow Maul (for another 5 kills).

With Shield Charge and AAO, I'm more than confident that, with a decent player, DM/Shield could farm crazy fast.

Moving on to more important things, considering that every is suggesting and there has been no voting, I'mma just go ahead and decide that we're going to work on BrandX's MA/WP build with the following requirements:

A AV soloing sustainable attack chain that uses Eagle's Claw.
Softcapped SLEN Defenses
Enough END to sustain attack chain/toggles
Unlimited Budget and any IO sets OK.
Near cap (but doesn't have to be capped) HP.
Flight

Nihilii's build should work as an excellent jumping off point, but let's see if we can actually meet all of those requirements.

I can put a word for DM/SD farming the Cim walls stupid fast.

Bounce in, wait a few seconds for them to bunch up, Soul Drain, Shield Charge, MG + SL the surviving lieut. Very quickly bounce to the next spawn, MG the surgeon (dead usually) and start going to town with SM. I usually SM - MG - SM and kill the second spawn before SD has run its course which leaves me just in time to run to the next spawn and do it all over.

Sweet as it is (and my all time favorite baby) I'm tempted by a FM/SD and see if it gets even higher there in the damage, but having no luck in fitting aid-self + hasten + CJ and still softcap.

Posted

Actually, I just took the DM/SD on a spin versus a +1 all boss mission. Died once because I got three spawns, but one spawn at a time (five PP bosses) is certainly doable.

After seeing SM rage for 650 damage I'm just left wondering if FM can really keep up. Sure FSC hits 10 with no need of positioning, but it also recharges in around 7 seconds instead of the 3 SM needs.

I think my real goal with a FM/SD would be able to squeeze two FSC in one BU. Something like FSC - SC - Incinerate - FSC. Even a boss would be left gasping after that IMO.

Posted

SM and FSC have both a ~3s animation. One SM every 6s, or one FSC every 10s... Seeing as FSC can hit up to twice as many targets, it's almost as good as SM by itself.

Now, if you can use SM efficiently, you can also use Breath of Fire efficiently, and then FM leaves DM in the dust.

OKay, for DB/SR...here's the best I could get. Close to Nihilii's, but going by the requirements, I think this might work just as well...

+3% Defense PvP IO in Tough
-RES Proc PvP IO in Sweeping Slash
Panacea PvP IO set (5 of them) in Aid Self (for an additional 7.5% Global Recharge, on top of the 5 you get with LotG).

It cost a bit of time on Conserve Power, but it's still up half the time.

But it gets AS closer to SS's cast time. Using Arcana Time, 1.452 seconds is Sweeping Slash's animation time, giving you .1 second gap, you likely won't even notice (I would think).

However, another way to help with END USE is this...

Move Hasten down to lvl 50.

Move powers up, ditch Focus Acdcuracy, replace the Mako's in Blinding Feint with GSF-C: BU Proc.

Take Energy Torrent, slot 5 of the Purple Set.

That's more recovery and more recharge, and should still keep you high on the Accuracy.

Take that left over slot from FA, put it in Conserve Power so it's up more often.

If the only reason you want GSF-C is for the proc to happen. It will have a greater chance to fire off every 5second in BF, than every 10 seconds in FA.

That would be a dream being able to put all the powers in *and* have hasten *and* aid-self *and* be softcapped ^^

Still, I got the attack chain right for the boss farm and can take 5-6 at a time (only +1 though). SL - SM - SL - SM. I really feel DM/SD spoiled me for scrappers much like my Archer spoiled me for blasters.

Here's the second build as a data chunk for you, that ditches FA, putting the proc in BF.

You could replace the defense IO in Weave with a +3 Enzyme. Actually, I'd do that anyway since it's better defense, not worse.

[/ QUOTE ]

Werner, I just wanted to touch on this point real quick. I'm pretty sure mids does not display the Enzyme correctly. The defense on it if for defense debuffs, not defense buffs. Check it out and let me know if I'm correct or if I have been missing out on some awesomeness all this time

Defense debuffs and defense buffs are actually enhanced through the exact same mechanism, so putting a def debuff enhancement into a def buff power will actually enhance the def buff in the same manner as putting a def buff enhancement in. Think of it as being similar to End Mod: the same attribute is used to increase both reducing a target's endurance and increasing your own. End Mod was simply combined into the same enhancement value whereas defense buff/debuff was simply left alone, most likely for simplicity's sake.

i see what ya did, BrandX ... and the alt as'well was a valiant effort, but yeah, wasn't just for the proc, proc was just the iceing, the 6set bonus is just fanominal,... also i'd point out a few things for your help, ... the agile, dodge, and lucky can be sloted with a lotg def in place of one of the basic IO's to eak out some more regen from the 2set bonus with the same def values, and the stamina endmod IO can be replaced with the P'Shift endmod/acc and will actually yield a higher return on recovery with the 4set bonus,... theres no denieing that the apoc set is very favorable for scrappers... i have gathered a good ammount of insighton the matter concerning a few dilemas, and, hehe... as Werner stated, i wonder just how close we did get to Shred Monkey's actual build

If we are on suggestions, how about a DM/SR, with as high as defense as possible when exempted down to Posi and Synapse TF levels.

Goal builds are:
Tto be a very sucessful Posi and Synapse soloer. Preferably have a fair number of well slotted attacks.
No travel power necessary.
Purples allowed.
Do proc's work when exempted? If so, would prefer to have a fair number of proc's available along with decent +dam slotting.

If what I'm thinking is true, you could probably slot purples in powers taken later in the build, and slot lower level Kinetic Combat sets into the powers, so that you what get very high melee defense and fair end recovery/recharge.

As Umbral indicates, you've been missing out on some awesomeness all this time. Mind you, I haven't confirmed whether or not this has been “fixed” in I15, but the “bug” has been around forever, so I suspect it will be around forever. You're just not allowed to blame the devs or me if it suddenly stops working.

MA/WP build with the following requirements:

A AV soloing sustainable attack chain that uses Eagle's Claw.
Softcapped SLEN Defenses
Enough END to sustain attack chain/toggles
Unlimited Budget and any IO sets OK.

Nihilii's build should work as an excellent jumping off point, but let's see if we can actually meet all of those requirements.

It was rather late when I made the build (4am). I should of caught the LotG: Defense IO.

But according to the MiDs, you get the same END Recovery with or without PS: ACC/ENDMOD.

But the first set did have softcapped Defense, with the GSF-C in FA, and eeked out a bit more recharge.

It was also a more expensive build, as it had Panacae in Aid Self.

Pretty much exactly like my DM/EA brute does it, only my brute uses Dark Obliteration, too.

The lack of AoE in Dark Melee is greatly overstated in the forums community. It's really quite solid as long as you're solo, or have enough aggro to herd groups into your Shadow Maul cone.

That said, I'd pick something else if I only wanted to farm. My BS/SD scrapper does it faster than my DM/EA brute.

So far, this is the closest I've gotten. 39.#% Defense to SLEN, and able to chain Storm Kick -> Eagle's Claw -> CAK -> CK -> Repeat with Hasten up.

Gives about 204 DPS (but it is all smashing, and unlike other sets can't get -RES procs).

If I put in Assault instead of the Rez (I just put the Rez in because the added END use from Assault didnt seem to warrant the additional 7DPS).

You're calculating DPS with Tactics turned on. Because it's got the Gaussian proc in it, it assumes that you're checking for damage while the Gaussian proc is active (that's just how Mids does it). You're calculating damage with 100% +dam that should really be considered 2.625% +dam (100% +dam with 5.25 sec duration, 5% chance every 10 seconds).

Ok, here's my own request in a more formal manner:

FM/SD with softcap, Hasten, CJ and Aid-Self.

Build objective : fit two Fire Sword Circle in one BU.

No purples or PvP IOs.

So far I've managed this, but no CJ, and I look longingly at GFS but BoF is just too useful IMO despite the general hissing done at it. if I eventually get hooked by the character I might try to farm my way to a PvP IO which will open up wiggle room in the slotting, but that's far, far off.

P.S. The powers are still taken at random levels, I've not cleant the build in that aspect yet.
