Is a Villian Group base a necessity?

Still trying to get my head around this marketeering thing. At the same time I'm a pretty new player so I'm leveling up a few characters. So far I've mostly used tickets from the AE to outfit my character with enhancements, and sell the one's I don't want. Even doing this I can't seem to store enough salvage. I'm reading about you guys bidding on stacks of recipes and enhancements, or having several sets of IO's and I'm wondering if it's a must to make my own base in order to really get anything done. Is anyone out there doing any serious crafting or marketeering without a base?

No, I even used trial accounts to pad my villain groups to get prestige to make sure I could have bins for storage.

total kick to the gut

Bases are super handy.

If you're crafting for sale bases are awfully convenient. All that storage + the crafting table makes life a lot easier.

But for a weirdo like me who just flips stuff, they aren't necessary.

Whilst I am one of the crafters for the Super Group I am in, the SG crafting and my personal crafting for sale is kept seperate.

I don't use bases for any marketeering bar the crafting tables there, just keep inventory ticking over pretty much whenever I bring a character on.

I've got my own base on both the blue and red sides, just because of the convenience factor mentioned above. If all you're doing is flipping recipes and salvage, it's not necessary. But if you're going to do much crafting, you can save yourself a LOT of travelling time.

Warning that this doesn't work anymore. I tried it. Trial accounts aren't allowed to join Super/Villian Groups anymore. I had to subscribe a second account for a month to do my padding.

It was a long time ago when I did it. But there are people around here who will roll up a temp guy to help people fill their SGs with their alts and then delete that character.

Same.

I made seven or eight trial accounts during the time of the bonus prestige grant, with the increase to Supergroup capacity, and went to town filling both sides.

Have a friend roll up a some characters to temporarily pad your group for the entry prestige. Should be enough for two or three bins.

I personally have four personal groups. Two per side.

Seventeen enhancements bins and one Inspiration bin in the main ones I do most of my selling and slotting out of.

Eighteen enhancements bins in the others, with eight complete sets of two different IO sets in each.

A base isn't necessary, but I'd recommend it.

Sure. The ONLY time my base comes into play is when I'm crafting enhancements for someone else in the SG - my characters or someone else's.

I'm pretty sure if you delete the characters it deletes the 'sign up' prestige with it unless you're also over number of toons to get the bonus (15?).

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

Just spend the prestige before they delete the characters and it's all good.

Yes, but the point is people want to populate their SG with only their characters so they have someone else fill one spot to invite all their alts then that character is deleted.

I've only stored any items off the market once in any of my marketeering. That time was when I bought 2,300 of a rare salvage. I prefer super low volume, super low risk, super high margin.

I like to keep everything in cash.
