'Nade Proliferation

'Nade Control

'Nade Blast

'Nade secondary for Blasters, and Corrs.

The primary could be mostly big AoE, with med-high damage fire/smashing damage; balanced by little to no ST viablility.

Secondary to be a mix of TA and Traps.

I know it isn't possible, due to the different animations, but I'd love some launcher costume options, and a no weapon option.

Please make my Demo Dave a reality!

I'm not sure that lacking in ST would really balance against having a lot of AoE. Limit the size of the AoE, I suppose.

There would have to be a lot of different types of grenades involved, especially for what you've mentioned
A Blast set I could see.
A Control set, maybe.
Secondaries for Blasters and Corruptors (who usually get a version of Defender Primaries) would be harder for me to envision. I don't see buffing your team via Grenade, but DeBuffing your enemy via Poison Gas Grenades, Acid Grenades, etc would make sense. Of course, anything that does damage could be considered a "HP DeBuff", but that's another tangent.

I really like this idea.

But I think to balance it, I have a better suggestion. Maybe almost ALL attacks in the set could be Location AOEs, which minor accuracy penalties.

You could have a variety of blasts and debuffs, with only one "Targeted AoE" attack, which also gains an accuracy bonus. But that's the only attack with the smallest radius as well.

The "Nuke" could be the actual atomic blast we've all been asking for.

Basti'nade: You beat on somebody with a stick. Since this is already part of a tanker set we will discount it.

Fanfaro'nade: You attempt to intimidate your opponent by bragging about your great skill and legendary successes.

Harlequi'nade: You join the Carnies.

Lemo'nade: You open up a yellow inspiration stand.

Mari'nade: You douse your opponent with a savory mixture of spices in a liquid base. Then blast them with fire.

Prome'nade: You surprise your opponents by casually strolling around.

Sere'nade: You sing to your opponent songs of love in an attempt to win their heart.

Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!

The corr secondary would be a bunch of debuff, with some soft control.

Read OP. I said cross of Traps and TA.
I'm not sure how that would be acomplished, hell, I'd be happy with a second animation option for TA.

I assume we're talking about grenades.

But it's not really clear, so I'm just guessing. Pretty sure I'm close. Which counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

A hand grenade powerset, then? I'm not sure I could go behind this. I mean, sure, Bomberman is cool and all, but it doesn't quite work to a sufficiently... Cool level to have a chap go around lobbing grenades as his only power. I'm not sure a grenade launcher would be something I could support. Grenades as a complement to a rifle goes hand in hand. After all, some actual real life rifles come with a single-shot grenade launcher attached.

I guess I could see a revolving drum launcher with different types of ammo. Prototype had an interesting take on this, where it was a grenade launcher in name only, and actually launched something like high-calibre kinetic rounds. It could even be fun to play around with, with it being given incendiary grenades, explosive grenades, kinetic rounds, a beanbag clone, a couple of missiles and even an auto-fire version. 9 powers may be a stretch to work with, but with all the different types of grenades in the game (before we even get into cloning Trick Arrow effects), it shouldn't be TOO hard.

The real problem is that it becomes only a somewhat modified version of Assault Rifle, which has 40mm shell instead of a buckshot, an AoE grenade salve instead of Full Auto, an incendiary grenade instead of a Flamethrower and so on and so forth. It's another gun, essentially, and given the call for new powersets, I don't see that happening. If we ever get even remotely close to having another rifle, I can almost guarantee that would be an energy weapon, likely an extension of the Robotics Pulse Rifle.

A grenade launcher blast set is a lot like a two-handed sword melee set - it's cool in concept, but too close to an existing powerset to be viable.

Good stuff there. Especially the last few.

Only /signed if this doesn't preclude an explosion blast set where the character causes explosions by pointing at things.

What's worse is that I originally read it as " Nads Proliferation". I heard that was some freaky, mad-sciency stuff in the upcoming Science expansion pack, but that might be a bit much.

Ide be more down if the game didnt suppress travel when attacking. Ide be waaaaay down to strife around tossing grenades ambidextrously; constantly in motion, arms flailing.
