Give defenders love! You buffed doms!

Since the dev's buffed dom's to borderline ridiculous the dev's really need to give/fix defenders some love now.
Defender damage is very poor with lack of control & yes super squishy.

Give defenders love! This is why you don't see defenders in pvp anymore!

I agree completely. But don't worry, the vocal defender crowd will show up in here and insist there's nothing wrong with anemic damage, a boring, and unnecessary inherent, and squishiness. I'm quite certain there will be numerous rad/sonics saying that since they can do good damage, there is nothing wrong with the AT.

Or they'll say its just not the style of gameplay for everyone. Or that you just haven't gotten your defender to a high enough level to be powerful. Or that you just don't know how to play your defender.

Either way, there seems to be A LOT of people who are just completely opposed to becoming more powerful either by increasing damage or by any means. What can you do.

I have 3 lvl 50 defender's. Match up a defender & dom in pvp see who wins, the dom will kill the defender in 2 sec's.

If people think there is nothing wrong with defenders I don't know what they are smoking. lol

I'd say defenders might be dead last or tie with a WS/PB on the pvp scale. It's very sad!

Defender are & have been useless in pvp since these garbage game ruining nerfs.

Emp fenders still do ok.....I've seen good rad/sonics as have already been discussed, but overall i agree, defenders need a little bit of a boost. Bbbbbut since we're asking for a buff devs will prolly nerf everything so bad defenders do good.

It was just an example, a buff/debuff class yes but not anymore with the pvp nerfs. The dev's totally pushed defenders out of pvp.

Sonic/rad... comon now, you can say something good about only 1 build? it isnt that great.

BS. My results dont show this. I've even been able to kill a pain dom MM with an lol dark/ice defender in an arena duel. I've beaten and stalemated psi/em's, lol'd at regens, If anyone wants to duel I'd be happy to obliged. The only thing i have trouble with is TK + DP, or TK+KB or Elec/Therms level end drain but even then the matches are really close or ties. i could take the easy route and just get TK and blackhole and have guaranteed ties, but that wouldnt be fun. And i would miss my 754 HP heals even with Heal Decay on. DR off? GL.lol.

Defenders dont need buff. They heal and debuff and do OK damage considering they are defenders. If you want to be a damage dealer in pvp, roll something else, or roll the right build.

actually the only defenders that need some love are TA's and maybe sonic.....with slows being what they are and everyone at resist cap....they have no way to defend themselves or dont bring anything new to the table.

The new garbage pvp nerfs ruined the defenders usefulness as healer/buffers.... Have you seen any in pvp? I havent seen 1 in weeks. Ever hear of DR? it has taken AT's uniquness AWAY!

I have seen plenty. I have even played a few, myself. While some sets could use a little help, not all defenders are completely useless.

And Emps still make a change in the zone, even if it's not as big as it was before.

Yes i have seen them. Rads, cold, emps, and trick arrow toons. Most did fairly well.

Not sure. Maybe nothing... easy. That's the thing, the defender needs to drag out the battle.

However, I do agree that debuffs, buffs classes are weaker. They really should get rid of heal decay and travel suppression for the heal. It really only penalizes the debuff/buff classes.

One last thing (maybe this is a call for a buff), debuffs are generally restricted to just one target. Sure, things like darkest night and rad infect have a radius, but it is too small for zone pvp. Patches as well.

Let me preface this post by saying i'm not disagreeing that defenders sit far below doms when it comes to pvp.

However if we're looking at buffing classes for pvp I think that Widows/Fortunatas need loving more then defenders do. I'm kind of biased because my main and character I play most is a fortunata, but lets compare...

PvP Base Damage at lvl 50

Defender Psi Blast
Mental Blast - 97.53
Subdue - 102.05
TK Blast - 80.10
Dominate - 102.1

Fortunata
Mental Blast - 97.53
Subdue - 106.56
TK Blast - 75.59
Dominate - 84.05

While you guys are complaining about defender damage, fortunatas actually do LESS.

Defenders get inherent resistances in pvp, combined with their epic shields i'm sure that puts them near whatever dr cap has been set (not 100% on this as i don't have a defender). Comparatively Fortunatas have defenses built into their secondary. A soft-capped Fortunata will sit around 32-35% defenses in pvp, and only recieves 10% resistances. But thanks to DR Mind Link can not be made perma in pvp, so part of the time defenses will be sitting below 27%. Even with mind link up, since elusivity was scaled back, everything hits like the defenses aren't there at all. (Not saying elusivity didn't need to be toned down, but it was hit too hard considering how much defenses are decreased due to DR)

Defenders also have buffs/debuffs/heals to increase their defensive/offensive capabiliities, Fortunatas do not.

I don't want Defenders to get more damage. Their damage is fine for what they are intended to be.

The problem is they can't be what they are intended to be because team buffs are useless. Slows are useless. Heals decay, making them next to useless. Support in general is useless.

Give Defenders back their ability to fully support a team and I'll be happy with their damage.

I support this. Anything that is done to increase defender support would take some reworking of the current pvp system. I think all of us agree that would be a good thing.
