Soloing AV/GM's
My top pics for AV/GM soloing would be
/Traps
/Rad
/Cold
Dark would be nice as well if only there was a way to kill regen in dark.
Um, Twilight Grasp is -500% for 20sec (as powerful as Lingering Rad but with 10s less duration) and Howling Twilight is -500% for 30 sec.
A DM corr (especially with Fluffy out) can easily flatline an AVs regen. |
A /dark corr cannot even come close to flatlining an AVs regen.
Twilight Grasp is -50% regen, and Howling Twilight has a 3min recharge.
A /dark corr cannot even come close to flatlining an AVs regen. |
Thanks for catching that
Edit Post has been deleted, heh.
The Melee Teaming Guide for Melee Mans
I was concerned about the lack of solid ST attacks as well, but Dark's ST attack's animation times are all quick(sans snipe), and Gloom provides excellent dps, so I was hoping that between Darkblast, Gloom, and Life Drain a good chain could be found. APP attacks could also help fill in a good chain perhaps. Also, it's damage type is less resisted than most.
I'm good at Mids builds, but I'm not good at figuring out attack chains and the required recharge. Once I get the toon leveled some, I can go ask the Scrapper forum number crunchers for some help. |
Depends on how patient you are. Thanks to mortar scatter you would need properly slotted challenge/prove in your chain.
or web nades and caltrops. the slows work suprisingly well (or at least they did on scrapyard for my en/trap)
Twilight Grasp is -50% regen, and Howling Twilight has a 3min recharge.
A /dark corr cannot even come close to flatlining an AVs regen. |
+ twilight grasp form you and your dark servant, which means -100% regen
So...i think you can manage it to kill an AV with /dark cor or as a dark def...definitely worth a try
BANG BANG!!!
As far as Sonic Traps goes for AV & GM soloing.
What exactly are we looking to do ?
Are we looking to get to the Defense cap ?
I found this build, it was from a Archery Trap build someone posted. I stripped it down and it covers the AOE and Range Defense cap

Just wanted to give this thread a nudge.
Above I posted a Traps only part of a build. I removed super speed and 6 slotted shout and combat jump to get me closer to the AOE / Ranged Defense cap of 45%
Resistance totals are in the high 50's to 60s. Am I missing some key element to pull this off ? I never did this, I understand and have read up on the Defense cap info. But never fought a GM Solo.

I never said you can't somehow manage to finish off a weak AV, I just said that /dark alone can't shutdown an AVs regen by itself. -100% regen is a laughable value against an AV, so you're gonna need a blast primary that does over 90 DPS (after debuff interruptions, AV self healing capabilities, resistances and defensive T9s are factored in) in order to kill one.
|
My main would disagree with you. I have no problem fighting AV's.
And for the record, it's energy/dark for... the... win.

t Gaidin, Yeah. Unlike with Scrappers where it really is a case of maximising attack chains and DPS, given the -regen in Rad you have a lot more wiggle room. So uh yeah, I think you should almost certainly be able to solo AVs, just not so sure about GMs. I'll be keeping an eye out for that thread, I'm interested myself
