Best secondary for Gravity?

Hi everyone,
I've played quite a few toons, and I notice I never really see Gravity controllers except maybe once in a blue moon. I know this is because the early game is a bit rough, since the good soft control powers come late.

I was wondering, if I were to roll a Gravity controller, what secondary synergizes with it the best?

Well, since I've heard Grav control considered that "worst control primary", a good controlling secondary pairs well.

So, TA, Storm, Force Field (at 35...so not really)

But you get the point, anything that helps your primary control better, that'd be a good choice.

Grav/Rad is really quite good. I've also heard very nice things about Grav/Storm. Grav/TA looks good on paper, but I'm not certain if that translates into real performance.

/kin works well.

Spines/ D A lvl 50 Scrap, stone/wm lvl 50 tank, Kat/reg lvl 50 Scrap
Grav/Kin lvl 50 Cont, Fire/Enegry lvl 50 Blast
Warshade lvl 50, PB lvl 39, nightwidow lvl 50, crab lvl 42
plant/thorns lvl 50 dom, ice/fire lvl 40 dom, grav/nrg lvl 41 dom

Every primary pairs well with Radiation.

Grav/Storm has some unique aspects because the AoE Immobilize, Crushing Field, does not stop knockdown. Therefore, Freezing Rain's knockdown will continue to work when the group is immobilized. On the other hand, sets like Fire, Earth, Ice and Plant, whose AoE Immobilize includeds -knockdown, can use that with Tornado to turn Tornado into a pure damage power, and Grav has to rely on its hold for -knockdown. Another advantage of Storm -- Thunderclap is a Mag 2 Stun that stacks with the Stun in Wormhole so that you can stun bosses. And for added fun, the storm powers blow around the stuff from Propel.

I find that Grav is my least favorite of the Controller primaries, but I'm still working on my Grav/Storm. Once you start filling in some of the Storm powers, it gets to be a lot more fun.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

I wouldn't classify Grav/ as "bad". It's not an EASY primary. But it's eminently workable. And once you get Singularity, things become vastly easier.

I too would vote for /Kin.

Grav/TA has been great up to 26 so far. Since Gravity lacks AoE control until later in the build, it's nice to be able to use some of TA's single target control early to stack or cycle, so you can control more baddies at the same time.

It makes for a "clicky" combo, as there is always a power you will want to use or queue up. I don't like Propel or Lift for the most part, so I tend to cast, tab, cast, tab between immobilize and hold powers and can easily control one spawn at a time without using wormhole. I can also use Ice Arrow and GD to lock down a boss right away.

I am expecting this to get a lot better as Wormhole gets fleshed out with more slots and I pickup Oil Slick Arrow. Between Wormhole, OSA, and two ranged AoE Holds, there should be plenty of controls in the higher-end build.

So, Grav/TA is sufficiently powerful in the low to mid levels from my experience (not as powerful as some of my other controllers), and feels more like a "real controller" from a thematic and playstyle standpoint.

It was when I was speccing out my Gravity/TA in Mids' that I discovered something about how Holds "ought to be" slotted. Mind you, this was in reaction to the release of the Basilisk and Lockdown sets for Holds:

<ul type="square">[*]Basilisk Gaze: Acc/Hold (single target) -or- Acc/Rech (targeted AoE)[*]Basilisk Gaze: Hold/Rech[*]Basilisk Gaze: End/Rech/Hold[*]Basilisk Gaze: Acc/End/Rech/Hold[*]Lockdown: Acc/End/Rech/Hold[*]Lockdown: Chance for +2 Mag
<ul type="square">[*]Basilisk's Gaze (2): 2.5% Defense (Energy,Negative), 1.25% Defense (Ranged)[*]Basilisk's Gaze (3): 2% (0.03 End/sec) Recovery[*]Basilisk's Gaze (4): 7.5% Enhancement (RechargeTime)[*]Lockdown (2): 3% DamageBuff (All)
For a 6-slotted hold power, these are "insane" set bonuses ... especially for a Gravity/TA where you can have four Hold powers by level 38 (and fully slotted up by 40). Stack up four copies of the above combo (in Gravity Distortion, Ice Arrow, Gravity Distortion Field and EMP Arrow) and you've got ...
<ul type="square">[*]10% Defense(Energy,Negative), 5% Defense(Ranged)[*]8% (~0.13 End/sec) Recovery[*]30% Enhancement (RechargeTime) [*]12% DamageBuff (All)
And on a Controller, that Chance for +2 Mag proc (20% chance) stacks up with your Inherent ability to proc an Overpower (20% chance) for additional +1 Mag on Critters ... dramatically increasing the odds of being able to Hold a Boss with a single click. This makes every single Hold power you have very powerful at all times (even against AVs).

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

Mind posting your build? I've been mulling over a perma-Hasten build for mine, but it is looking pretty expensive.

Here's mine:

Grav/kin is a ton of fun, and works great with my playstyle, which is teaming. It's also fun solo after singy.
