You need it. Never skip it. There will always be enemies around that can mezz you. In the late game it'll be a non-stop mezz fest for you. If you wanna see how big of a deal mezzes are, go check out the Blaster forums.

It will be a problem with AV's and even soft capped you need it also realize that quite a few psi attacks late game have no postional defense and you will get chain mezzed by carnies and the like

SR also doesn't provide defense against Dominate, which is Psi based only (Melee, Aoe and Ranged def does not work versus it). Face any foe with Dominate and you will be held constantly.

Back in the really early days of the game (back when Unyielding Stance nailed your feet to the floor, and it was either/or with some other armor, and there were no Break Frees) I went without mez protection to level 32 or 33. It got bad in a hurry. I spent about eight levels flattening Crey power armor in revenge.
Level 30: Mez becomes big and ugly and frequent in melee range. Freakin' riot cops will stun you and they are minions.
Level 35-40: Ranged mez starts getting really prevalent.
Level 41-50: Is there anything in this powerband that doesn't knock down, stun, sleep, hold, immobilize, or drain endurance?
As a test, see if you can find an AE mission that has Crey power armor in it- should auto SK you up to about 30 or 35. Do a couple missions, see how it goes when those big-damage, mezzing hits land.

Yea... I gotta say... Leveling a claw/sr scrapper I never realized how much mezzing is in the game. I saw enemies doing the mind control sleep, and I assumed it was wasted graphics.
Then I rolled a blaster. Man oh man oh man. I'd never realized till then freakshow can stun you for instance. The only mobs I knew had mez were tsoo yellow ink men, and lost bosses. Didn't realize how much mez Malta does either... until my mastermind started geting stunned for a minute at a time from one single grenade.

Granted, that don't happen often. I have gotten held by CoT just outside Portal Corp though, I get immobilized by them slightly more often. 3 times instead of 1.

I remember my BS/Inv opening a door in some Crey mission and there were about fifteen guys in power armor behind it. I _think_ they stunned me and then killed me through the low resistances, but it happened so fast I couldn't tell you.
Takes a lot to mez a scrapper.

Practiced Brawler is the best mez protection in the game, and there is no good reason to skip it.

I love how click mez protections still give the mez resistance if it's overwhelmed. Toggle mez protection doesn't.

That is true. But for those times the click mezz res powers activate and then things go south and you end up making a trip from the hospital, that mez is most likely not back up yet and that's annoying to wait on. No waiting with toggles.
At least it can become perma in normal sitations unlike the troller's version of indom will in the psionic mastery set. I look at that power as a tease but I'd never skip it if I take that pool.

You can get PB at lvl 10.

Honestly? By the time I get back from the hospital PB has already activated most likely. It charges fairly quickly with quickness and 2 SO recharge redux.
