Just to add my data point, I still can't. Currently doing the runaround with tech support...

The patch before yesterday's caused my installation of test on my Mac to die - iPatcher started running, told me "these files already exist, do you want to overwrite them?" and of course I said "Yes, I want to overwrite them, I'm updating." Test refused to start up after that patch (iPatcher gave an error and then quit shortly thereafter). I went to my Windows install and SMB'd into the Mac to copy my Windows test files to the Mac's test install (to bypass having to download all the files again) but discovered that the updater had deleted not only the entire game directory, but the "Windows" directory in the application as well.

The issue is still totally unresolved. At the suggestion of tech support, I have even gone so far as to completely delete the test server installation from my mac and attempt to re-download it from scratch. Every time, the very first thing the updater tries to download is that busted "cider-COHD-Updater-002591.tgz" file, even before it starts downloading *any* of the game files such as piggs. And, of course, as soon as it tries to download the busted file, it goes right back into that endless loop. Getting really annoying...

I only get a bug sometimes when logging in and retrying usually resolves it. Otherwise a restart will fix it. I did the new SF last night, and crashed a couple times, but nothing terribly out of the ordinary. I find the game crashes occasionally on loads. It will hang up during the load screen.

Too many alts to list.

I get the same thing - occasional crashes on load screens, but that is usually after a few hours of play.

I was on the test server this morning for a while without incident. (Mac OS X 10.5, MacBook Pro 2.2GHz, 4GB RAM)

I just tested on a quad core tower using a copy of test that hasn't been updated in months. It updated correctly first time and logged right into test without issue.

Yep, issue seems to persist only if you tried to update at least once during the time the bad patch server was up. Somehow, doing so seems to screw something up on your computer so that patching fails even now that the bad server is gone - even if you completely wipe all traces of the test server from your machine. Yay computers.
