I'll keep that in mind. I'm just happy that I've got my first set of Patron Powers unlocked

Don't need patron powers. Just lay down a /Traps guantlet. Laydown 4 minutes worth of Trip Mine, Poison Traps, flavor with a spread of Caltrops and top it off with an Acid Mortar. Pull EB/AV to run through the field and viola! Your problem is 1/3 solved. (YMMV)
If you stand in a different place than your henchies and can manage to keep the aggro on you, you'll be fine. The AoE will hit you, leaving your pets taking only what they bodyguarded from you. When you fix that up, you're good to go. Then it's just a matter of maintenance.
He beat the hell out of my plant/thorns dom several times, with the difficulty at 4th or 5th level, making him really tough. I remember him regenerating pretty quickly and negating much of the weak damage I was dishing out; he also broke free of my stacked Domination holds on him near the end when I almost had him.
He's just like any other boss against a group though. I have yet to try soloing him with a melee character.
I got him down the 1/2 health as an av with my thugs/poison but he kited me all over the map and regened. I dialed him down to an eb and wiped the floor with him.
My Bots/traps has soloed six avs so far, I lay down a gauntlet of mines as one of the previous posters mentioned.

I recall my Earth/Psi Dom didn't have too much trouble with him, though I have a fondness for munching Inspies like candy and using Shivans. I think Shivans are just compensation when you're a dom going against AVs with PToDs.
