Most annoying PvP build 3\/34?!

I stink at PvP. There's no getting around this fact. However, my SG has a big 4th of July PvP even comming up and I'd like to join in the festivities. It's clear I won't be doing any killing during the event but I would like to throw a wrench in the works of our enemies.

After looking around I noticed that a Grav/FF/Ice/Stealth pool would have access to two caging powers, 3 phase shift-esque powers in PFF, Hibern00b and Phase Shift, a Teleport/Disorent power, some KB/KD and a hold. I thought that if i can't kill I should try to annoy as much as possbile and I think this is the AT to do it.

Have any of you out there in PvP land come across anything like this? Do you have any sugguestions or build ideas? I could use a lot of help and welcome your feed back. I'll also try to post a build for your review.

Could you explain you answer further? What is it aboot Earth/TA that makes peeps want to tear their hair out? I currently have a 50 Grav/TA/Ice troller. Would he be an effective PvPer?



Never mind, just read the "To kill a Stalker" thread. Could you tell me how it is that earth powers disrupt hide at a range of 500ft though?

I have on of them. I liked it better under i12 where -maxrunspeed let the combo just tear open people so you could even get solo kills.

It is still very effective disruption though. Why it is good.

3 patch powers that annoy and can be spread out to annoy a lot of people - sand, quake, vg
heaps of -def
An additional 'sticky' annoyance glue arrow that you can easily get perma on two people even if they aren't near each other. If/when you come across multiple foes it is great.
Great -fly, it one shot drops people in hover.
Some decent auto hit powers so even if you are heavily debuffed you can still wreak havoc.

As for stalkers at range: you often get a glimpse of them when they come into render range (or view range). Lots of stalkers just chill out thinking they are completely hidden and safe to.. well stalk.

You catch a glimpse and zip over to their location and bomb down some patch powers thatare auto hit and suppress stealth+stealth IO, making them much easier to see and target, then you smack em with glue and acid (long dot keeps them out of hide) and which point it is phase or die.

Yea, pretty much what dombegone said. It is the ultimate thing to mess up stalkers. I don't care how good a stalker is he is not going to land an AS in Earthquake. What i mean is most stalkers run Hide+stealth+Stealth IO. When a stalker gets in quicksand or volcanic gasses it suppresses Stealth and the Stealth IO so their Stealth Radius Drops from 1189 feet to 500 Feet meaning anybody with any form of perception will see them. The reason you can't see stalkers now with tatics or cm or both is because the Stealth cap is higher then the perception cap. Grav/TA would be ok just make sure you 6 slot and it has tons of knockback/up. Most villains...including me dont see too many grav and mind controllers in RV, so most of us don't have to do crazy slotting to prevent KB. But i still think Earth would be better with the tons of disruption to go along with TA.

BTW does anybody know if Glue arrow does -KB...cause if thats the case grav/ta would be a bad combo.

nope, the KB should still work with glue arrow

I suggest an uber end drain build if you want people annoyed. Something like an elec/thermal/mu or elec/kin/mu. People really hate having their end bars emptied.

for earth/ta; the powers that negate knockback are: entangle, stone cages/prison, and fossilize. I think they are all 10 sec worth of -kb.

So you can glue and still knock people.

Grav/FF takes more exp and skill to be as annoying as a /TA user. Cages lasts 5 sec and lol Wormhole

This (bolded part) was untrue last I checked. I have a sonic/devices blaster with Tactics and a +perception IO, he is at the perception cap, which is 1153 feet. According to numerous sources (ParagonWiki, actual in-game experience) the stealth cap is 1143. How that works out is, if both players are at their respective caps the stalker will be visible within 10 feet of the perception capped character. The reason you can't see stalkers with capped perception is they are not close enough to you, you should see enough of an outline to target them within 10 feet if you are at perception cap.

As far as I know that is the current state of things, unless things have recently changed.

Seems to be the case when I play my Fire/Devices Blaster...I can spot out a stalker when I'm right next to him.

Since SoAs have a higher perception cap, I'm thinking ppl will roll more of them to be Stalker killers (or spotters) when Going Rogue comes out.

if a stalker stands still next you they are either bad or about to AS you...and by the time you notice them ASing your probally too late.

Yeah, I normally see them right b4 they AS or try to AS is what I was talking about. You'd be surprised how many AS attempts you can bounce away from with maxed perception.

i literally fought someone with my earth/storm troller and they got so pissed because they couldn't do anything that the guy slammed his hand on his laptop and broke 4 keys, or so he told me a week later when he rolled an earth/storm and tried to get my build from me.

Yes Earth/TA or Grav/TA are EXTREMELY annoying, and for any arch type not just one =p
