Rad: EMP Pulse

Kind of an odd question but...

What does EMP Pulse look like?

I have a high level blaster and respec'd into the power on my blaster, just to see what it looked like (on test), but I was curious if the power looked the same for Defenders (or Corruptors)

Thanks!

I created a vid of the EMP animation on a lvl 50 /rad troller. The quality is kinda iffy because the combination of Mac client + screen capture utility causes all the objects to blink in and out. Weird. Anyrate, here it is, although it might take youtube another 10 minutes or so to fully render it:

Thanks guys!

Um, no it isn't. The blaster EM Pulse is a stun and the graphic fx are quite a bit different.

The Def EM pulse is a stun as well. Not sure about the animations being the same though, as I haven't played a rad blaster.

The Def EM Pulse is a Hold (either that, or all those times I used it the stunned enemies just somehow decided to sit still and there's a bug that lets it take hold sets...):

While the Blaster EM Pulse is a Stun:

Edit: And so far there are no rad blasters (much to the chagrin of blasters, apparently, but proliferation will eventually get there, I guess)... Unless that means some def or corr with rad blast...

EMP Arrow is also a "hold" versus a "stun" but looks like a "stun" by animation.

The animation looks like a stun on both (swirly circles around the head) for some reason. It stacks with "hold" magnitude for certain though (otherwise my TA/Electric wouldn't be stacking so much).

That's right, my mistake. The enemy animation had me confused for a second. They all do that same "stroke-like" pose that stunned heroes perform.

it's the same animation that Dominate uses (except that most of the time, a dominated hold guy does the writhing in pain thing)

No

I think you underestimate our fools, sir.

Why /duel is a bad idea

Oh...cause the animation looks exactly the same...with the throwing the arms out and everything....

Which is why I said graphic fx and not animation. The graphic fx of the two powers are apples and oranges. Of course with the similar names, and the odd stun-like held animation, I can see how you got confused. No biggie.

And nitpick of the day, it is EM Pulse or EMP, not EMP Pulse. Even the devs made that mistake though, took them a while to fix the name.

Except that they stand there in one place waving like seaweed in the current, not skating around at high speed the way stunned NPCs do. It's the immobility of a hold with the 'woozy' figure animation of a stun.
