You could argue that going in game(which is what I think they did) and recruiting is not the smartest move.

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, they recruited through PMs on the forums. These forums, owned by NCSoft, their senior competitor.

[/ QUOTE ] Same difference really. That wasn't a smart move. They would have been better off getting the message to those players a different way.

I've read all the posts now and I still don't see the issue.

I see why PS had an issue with it, clearly and understandably.

I see why some people with a sense of entitlement have an issue.

But I still don't see a valid consumer complaint. Well nothing that goes beyond complaining about viagra spam emails

carry on though.

If it's okay for Cryptic to recruit players off the CoH/V forums, it is okay for Paragon Studios to recruit players off the ChampO forums. Then it's okay for SOE to try to recruit players from both forums for DCUO and vice versa. And then WoW comes along and tries to recruit everyone.

End result (at the least) - forums no longer have a PM function enabled.

It's wrong because it leads to a lot of negative behaviour among competing companies.

This might just be me being ignorant of the world of copyright law, but Cryptic Studios doesn't make the game anymore, and when they sold the game to NCSoft nearly every member of the CoH team went with it. (As I recall there was like one guy who didn't make the move.) So why is the Cryptic logo still here on the forums, the official site and in the game itself (to the exclusion of the Paragon Studios logo in-game)?
