Limit on MA Souvenirs? Why??

Noticed yesterday night that I only seem to have four souvenirs for the MA Arcs I've completed. And I've completed a lot of them (okay, not a lot, but definitely more than dozen). The remaining four are just the last four arcs I've completed on my account - not the character, as you all probably know, but on my account.

I like the fact that we can collect these souvenirs on every character on our account, but it's sort of ridiculous that I can only keep FOUR of them. The PVE content doesn't give you a limit on these souvenirs, why would the MA content?

I can't grok this one; anyone out there explain? Has this come up before and will there be a patch to allow us to review all of our Architect Souvenirs?

To my knowledge, there isn't a limit.

They just get deleted everynow or then.

I know, not a great answer.

Buh? Why are they erased?

I don't think it's an unpublishing thing is it? I'm very certain several of the arcs I'm missing souvenirs for are still live ("Two Girls at Once" and "Hero Therapy!TM" for example).

Maybe it resets when an arc is RE-published? But then, all of the souvenirs I have are from arcs I've done this last week. So, it sounds more like an expiration date?

Devs? Anyone? Bueller?

Nothing to do with republishing. They just all get whacked every now and then.

When MA first came out, I played a LOT of arcs through to the end -- some great ones, some good ones, some mediocre ones, and some that were so totally awful that they were funny. To those, my subconscious kept crying "well, this arc's GOT to get better -- it can't POSSIBLY get any worse!" and my subconscious was WRONG.

One day I noticed I had a TON of souvenirs -- like, 30 or 50 or something. Some were cool, some were horrid and reminded me of an agonizing arc. "Oh, look, we can delete individual souvenirs," I remember thinking. "But this could get pretty unwieldy down the road."

A few days later, I tried to tell my friend about one I got from an arc we'd played together a week prior. I opened that section and I had ONE souvenir from the arc I'd played that afternoon.

I petitioned. Short answer: "Yeah, we know about that bug/problem -- we had it back in beta, too."

I replied "but will we get them back? Some of them were COOL and/or funny!"

Short answer: "We don't know, but don't hold your breath."

It's been weeks now; I haven't gotten them back and at this point don't really expect to. *sigh*

Backup your souvenirs file every week or so. It blows that the souvenirs Ger deleted like this.

I've read that opening up your souvenir window every so often (maybe once per play session, or once per storyarc?) will keep your souvenirs from being deleted. It seems to work for me, but backing them up is probably a good idea, even if you have a really good memory and remember to open the window everytime.

How do you back them up? Sorry, this must seem like a total noob question.

Maybe you could copy them and put them in word processor file, i.e. Word, MS Works, whatever. Then you'll have them all on your hard drive.

I haven't checked mine in a few days, but I deleted a few last week. I really didn't want to remember some of those horrendous arcs.

The MA Souvenirs are stored in a plaintext file in your CoH folder. can't recall which one right off the top of my head, but 'backing it up' is as simple as copying it to another file periodically.

The file is PlayerCreatedSouvenirClues.txt, and it's in your main CoH folder.
