Welcome.... my suggestion is to "play the game" and take your time with the content (if that's for you) and I mean really get into the lore and character development from your own creative end. Besides tailor sessions and a diverse community that's where the fun is. Figure out which type of concept is amazing to run with for you the first time through and really get lost in it and take your sweet time.
It's only my humble opinion that the first time through is amazing to look back on after a good mmo year has gone by. You get to say.. "omg.. I remember when..." and that in itself makes for a great time ahead.

Jake Roberts my main was created before the 2nd year anniversary.. don't remember when but he has that badge... I still remember way back when.. I was apart of a awsome VG Ominous on Liberty and we would rock the house with Base Raids... but sadly all those cats have moved on to other games.. heh I remember meeting William Smith on Liberty now that was a strong cat letting me lead the way and utilizing my scouting skills..
Ive been playing CoH since its conception and have always come back after trying other games... heh I play every day just about so well see you all eventually...
