Game Differences?

Hey im looking to purchase the game and im wondering if there's a difference between: (CoH: Good vs. Evil edition) and (CoH: Architect Edition).
I've looked over both of them and noticed they both come with City of Heroes and City of Villans. Besides the mission creator in Architect, is there any variation between them?

Yes the Architect edition is newer so if you have get the disk you don't need to download as much stuff. And you get to pick from Super Booster I: Cyborg or Super Booster II: Magic.

If you buy the Good Vs. Evil some powers and other stuff look at link for more info.

Biggest difference is this:
Good Vs. Evil: current through Issue 7
Architect: current through 14 (most recent edition on live)

If you are purchasing the boxed edition, I would recommend Architect Edition. That way, you will only have to download the most recent patches since Architect Edition was issued.

If you purchase the Good Vs. Evil Edition, you will have to wait for Issues 8 through 14 to download as well as the latest patches, which will take longer.

Once you have an active account, you can alway buy the Good Vs. Evil Goodie Pack to get the cool stuff from that edition.

The specific goodies vary from box to box, and as they said, the disks are more updated on the Architect.

For clarity, if you already have the game installed and playing it, you do not need to re-install the game from the disks that you purchase; all you need to do is use the "Upgrade" option in your PlayNC account (which is not the log-in screen for playing the game) and apply the game code (not the "Buddy" code) to your trial account.

Be sure to use the "Upgrade" option and not "Add" option for your PlayNC account so you can keep using your current characters and you won't accidentally lose access to any names that you have used for characters you have already created. If you use "Add" you are creating a brand new account. There is no difference in cost, just that you want to be able to use the characters you have already been using, along with your log-in name.

Personally most of us here on the forums seem to find the GvE goodies more useful to have - the Jump jets and Pocket D teleport both help you get around, in different ways.

Lot more than anything the booster packs or mac edition have, anyway.

I dunno, the Mission Teleporter is really damn good, even after you have all your other ways of getting around.

Isn't the Mission Teleporter from the Mac Edition?

If you want the stuff from Good Vs. Evil after buying the Architect Edition box, DON'T buy the GvE "Goodies Pack." Either buy the GvE box or the full GvE edition from the online store. It costs $20 but includes a free month of play, making the total value $5 cheaper than buying the $10 goodies pack, which doesn't come with a free month.

You have to weigh the availability of a power w/ its effectiveness. I can use the GvE jump jet every 10 mins or so... at least several times in a single mission and in between.

All active accounts have access to the Mission Architect.

Architect edition not required.
