Can PB PvP well?
I'm not really sure. Generally the kills I get are against stalkers who expect me to instantly die if they AS me in dwarf form and corruptors. Can't even dent most brutes atm(maybe it'll get better once i hit 50), though. One thing that PBs have going for them, at least, is survivability.
I have been having tremendous success in zones with mine. I stick to human and nova form (the switch to dwarf for the heal takes too long imo.)
The range in Nova and the survivability of human form make it very dificult to kill a PB (even by several opponents) and getting kills is a pretty easy.
This is the first time I've had a PB and I built him specifically for PVP and it is quickly becoming my favourite PVP toon. I do need to do more duels in arena with him though. I expect to have trouble with sappers (who doesn't) who will most likely get kills on me. I don't expect to die to fire/ss tanks (or ss/fire brutes) or regens but I doubt I'll be killing them either.
I've had good success with my all-human form PB in every PvP zone I bring him in... Specifically against stalkers. Had a stalker try to kill me for 20 straight minutes in Warburg once (Without success). Was quite entertaining. Had another *epic* fight against a stalker in RV on top of a building... That was really fun... I barely won that one, and the stalker must have had the same "epic" fight feel that I did, because when I got the kill, he said "Wow! Great fight!"
I haven't had a lot of good experiences in PvP, but that one was a good one. Not because I won--because there was good sportsmanship after the fight. Was certainly a rare villain breed I fought against, and I'd fight him again any day of the week, win or lose.

Can it?
I haven't run my Khelds in a PVP zone since the changes, really. (Actually, I take that back, I took two of mine in at 20 into Siren's to snag the stealth, and fought knowing I was underslotted - but everyone was just BS'ing around anyway.)
Before that... I've had some great fights, and some "eh" fights. Most of mine have ended in a draw.
Favourite ones:
First time I took my (first 50 PB) into Bloody Bay, not long after the zone opened. She's a triform, I was snagging meteor shards. Brute comes up and hits me. OK, stunned for a moment - hit a breakfree, heal, switch to Dwarf. His reaction 0
/l "Mommy...."
We sat and pounded on each other for a good five minutes. I couldn't get out of dwarf very often because of the stacked stuns, he couldn't get my health down. Eventually we just said "let's call it a draw" and went on our way.
Same PB had a lot of fun with a stalker - pretty much any time we were both in the zone, it'd be "Hey, it's you!" and we'd go after each other. The character's RP (yes, RP, and not on Virtue!) was that she hated to be called cute - so it'd inevitably be "Hey, there's that cute Stalker!" and we'd be off to fight. Haven't seen them around for a while, though.
Come to think of it - same PB. There's one person I've *always* seen in the PVP zones on Pinnacle, diehard PVPer. Ran across his Fortunata, PVP-specced and IO'd out. My PB... not. Usually when I see him, I pretty much expect I'll be dead, but it'll be a good fight. My PB ended up surviving much longer than I expected, and getting him down to around 1/4 health... which, if it were someone on a non PVP/IO'd build, means they'd probably have been dead. So, quite honeslty, felt good about that loss. (Had a good long chat with him after, too.)
And from the other side - SquareOne here had a warshade they were trying to build for PVP. I ended up taking him on on my... probably 24, since I was lich-less, Nec/Poi MM. Took him down a few times, got him used to how to deal with ME (IE, get me away from my pets, so no bodyguard or wall of incoming fire.) Fun overall, but it wouldn't quite work the same with the PVP changes, either (IIRC, there's a short invulnerability when the target of TP Foe, so I'd be able to get out of range of Grav well or Inky while my pets caught up.)
Yeah, can't say how they do *now,* but they can be fun to play with.
Thx for the advice
bummer, I thought the switch and heal in Dwarf form would be awesome life saver if needed
do Warshades also PvP well?

WSs dont. PBs do pretty good if build and played well. think not as high damage blaster with better survivability.

My PB can rip up zones and does great in the arena, won the last 2 pvpec things with her. PBs aren't a total joke in PvP anymore
Take all 3 heals, phase, and slot up your nova form single target blasts with centriole hami-o's
Pre-13, PBs had very good survivability but too weak damage to score many kills, though you could quite often surprise inexperienced/non-pvp doms, corrs, or stalkers and take them out. Brutes, well, I don't know if I've ever beaten a brute 1v1 with my PB, either before or after I13. Electric armor used to be a very popular set in pvp zones and it gave them 90% energy resistance... not exactly a good matchup for a PB
In i13+ pvp, PBs are still very, very survivable - one of the more survivable ATs, in fact, and the only one to get a dull pain clone, a reconstruction clone, and a phase shift power all as part of their main sets. The status effect changes work strongly in your favor and nova form's ST attacks are now both brutal and evil (100 foot base range, good damage. Slot a little range and odds are good if you can see it, it's in range to attack).
Human form damage is... very weak still. You'd probably be better off using Flurry instead of incandescent strike, for example, even though their activation times are similar (flurry is actually a little faster).

Human form damage isn't as good as Nova by any stretch but with gleaming bolt you can slot a couple procs in it (like the purple and PVP procs) and go to town. That with gleaming blast and you can set up a nice ranged attack chain with blast, bolt, bolt, blast, repeat (if your recharge is half decent.)
Incandescent Strike happens to be one of the hardest hitting attacks in the game. It's base damage sits around 199 at compared to 151ish for flurry (on PBs.) Flurry is no slouch but I'd take the whallop of incandescent strike over the dot of flurry anyday of the week.
I've had success PvPing with a PB. They're alot easier to pvp with since the i13 buffs.

Actually, you are right. However you, need to learn when and how to use the switches to maximize their effectiveness. I would never recommend skipping Dwarf form. The heal recharges very quickly and provides another level of survivability. In fact, it can be used in aerial combat if you set up binds/macros correctly to drop the form and activate the appropriate travel power.
Like many have said, I'd focus my build on the single-target Nova attacks and heals. Go for +rech and +acc in your bonuses and you'll be hitting everything.

Listen to Soilent and you won't go wrong. I based my PB off of his forum advice and do decent in PvP with it. Human form to find who you want to fight, switch to Nova and shoot em up. Fly away and use all 3 heals if needed. Rinse, repeat and have fun.
You may get webbed a lot and if Quantum Flight isn't up (got mine down to a 25second recharge on phase), then build up your resistances in Dwarf and suck it up til you can TP away, heal and fly again.

Sorry...I meant to say, "Listen to AlienOne AND Solient and you won't go wrong."
Some good advice from everyone. I do use the heal in Dwarf also though. If you can get your resistances up...you can use your heal and survive unless catching damage spikes from large group.

Dawun kills me everytime I see him in a zone. The first time he attacked my brutem I thought "lol PB in PvP"
About 5 seconds later I was dead, looking at my screen like this.
Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?
I am working on my 1st PB , currently lvl 20 and having a blast
I playing with mids it looks like I can build a good PVP toon, but I have never seen one in RV. Now that might be because they do not do well, or they do soooooo gooood that Pvp is too poring for them, or I have not been in PvP that often.
note I have only been playing the PvP game for a few months. had fun with my blaster and Kat/regen, and thought I would try something new
