Temporary option for the ladder

Banning res sheilds was an idea I had about a month ago. At first it seemed like a good one, but it isn't.
Reason One: Where do you stop? Do you ban powers like tough and sonic dispersion?
Reason Two: such a measure would probably make stalker/kb based teams even more effective, given that many powers used to slot significant KB res bonuses will be banned.
The idea that forcing teams to run resistance buffers will help balance the current state of things is a double edged sword; it also means that people may have to run kins for additional KB protection. The resulting lineups will be stacked defensively and have little room for toons with offensive capability. I then suspect that the way to get kills will be hold/tk spikes from controllers followed by a single AS and scourges. That's pretty borring.

DR on and no repeating AT will solve most of problems we have.
Some really good points guys. I'm cool with giving it more time to let ya'll play around with it. You should come out thurs nights though and watch Renegades fight Easy. You should be aware that for the past number of weeks they have been trying lots of teams without stalkers and had no luck.
Do you want to put it to a vote already or wait a bit?
To answer your question Silit, the idea is that we'd be trying to simulate just no global resists, so things like tough etc would still be allowed. Losing that KB proc though is the most serious issue IMO. I'd have to look at builds to see if you could get by without it.
IDEALLY my hope is that it would allow for stalker teams to still be effective AS WELL AS blaster teams being able to compete. Maybe that's a dillusion though.

I honestly hope you do!
Though you might not be fighting our normal team tonight after all. Many of my players got temp bans and/or toons we use deleted.
Don't know about our group. I came through fine, but don't know about everyone else. Don't think I'm staying sub'd much longer anyway.

There is no PvP.
We keep on trying though. but they keep on banning us and deleting our toons. And deleting our threads talking about it.
I don't like banning powers that aren't broken. On the other hand running DR on is plainly pathetic. I'm not anywhere near the best emp in this game, but I don't think one should ever feel they are unable to contribute to their team.
But I can't fault people for using what works either. Good answer would be if we could get some freaking dev support for [censored] we actually care about when it comes to PvP. But, we'd probably end up with no jumping no running no talking.
The 2 stalker team. Do I hate it? Getting there.
