Ticket Cap: Option3

I was born a strategist. I obey the rules but from within the rules I maximize my ability to be the best of the best. I strive to have others /cheer at my accomplishments.

I dual box a 50 brute and 50 corr. I farm all 52 boss mobs that use super strength and can fly. I use no exploits what so ever. I typically pick up a 3rd person for company.

Last night I made 6500 tickets per mission per character per 30 minute run. I leveled up a nub from 11-21 in 20 minutes.

I enjoy earning tickets. I enjoy helping my friends level. Have I broken any rules? No. Have I used any exploits, no.

I fail to understand why so many people vilify other people for working within the rules to maximize their rewards.

What's on the agenda for tonight? The exact same thing as last night, but with 60% more loading time.

Who does this 1500 ticket cap effect? The casual 8-man groups that are trying to earn infamy by playing AE.

Nerfing the cap is funny. FUNNY!!! Why? If you analyze the problem. Players are gettting too many tickets from AE and are using focussed tactics to earn these tickets. How should we fix it?

Option 1: Lower the drop rate. Most obvious answer. No, we can't do that because most casuals won't feel AE is worth there time.

Option 2: Alter the ability of MA so that custom groups MUST have a minion class and lt. class mob. <--- duh

Option 3; Place a cap on how many tickets you can earn from the missions.

Well after reviewing all options, we've decided to pick option 3. It gives the appearance that farmers won't be able to farm any more because no one will EVER be able to post something about earning XYZ tickets since the cap is only 1500. Now all the casuals will think we've done a great job stopping the farming, when in reality all we've done is make them load more often.

Okay, what kind of logic is that? I don't have a clue. Anyway, I'm off to earn another 20,000 tickets ... I've got an hour to kill.

Thank you for the insightful response to my post. I see you made it to the 5th word, quite an accomplishment.

Would you like to continue discussing genetics or perhaps we could discuss the main topic of my thread.

I would absolutely adore an intelligent conversation on psychology, genetics, development, etc. Unfortunately, I have to get going for class (funny enough, a psych class), but I would be happy to read and respond to whatever you have to say on the subject when I return.

Welcome to America. That's how it is here in the good ol' U.S. of A where people love to tell people other what to do due to some misguided sense of self righteousness and moral guideline. This mentality was first reflect through the international policies forumlated by government (see manifest destiny) as if it is the responsibility of the U.S. to advance the human civilization. Over time that thought process slowly filtered down to the general public until it has reached the level of what it is you see today. As a result, we as a society loves to meddle in others affairs. We love to forcefully insert ourselves into an issue which we may *percieve* as an injustice whether it is actually justified or not. We love to villify anyone who may disagree with our moral agenda since we are supposedly a nation found under christian principles thus we hold a higher moral authority (what a farce). The best you can do is to ignore those people and do things your way as long as it is within the confines of the law/rule of course (which farming is without doubt, within the confines of the rules in this case). In anycase, the words of those meddlers are only as influential as the ramblings of an hobo driven mad by extreme poverty.

Edit: Oh, almost forgot to mention. Another reason why people like to meddle is because their own life is unfulfilling or unsuccessful. As a result, they try to fill that void by dictating to them how they should live theirs. That false sense of empowerment and authority can seem fulfilling at first. That is until the people they are dictating to stop playing the victim and brush these people off as just another nut.

The "ticket cap" is interesting for many reasons. Peoples reaction to it even moreso.

I see nothing posted that would make me think anything was "wrong" with how you are playing the game. Sounds like you are having fun and plan to continue to have fun. CHeers.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

BTW Darth, have you noticed that someone made a map of nothing but Voids? I think the arc was called Dubya Tee Eff or something of that nature. Talk about a challenge arc for a Kheld...

Surprisingly, I actually took my All-Kheldian SG team (6 Kheldians team, if I remember correctly) through an Arc (not the one you speak of) where for the better part of two missions, we were constantly ambushed by Voids. Believe it or not, it was quite fun, despite the wipes. I believe people may learn teamwork from wipes, rather than from u883rly-built characters.

Now, soloing an Arc that has nothing but Voids... that's just nuts for a Kheldian.

I believe that a Kheldian Gold Standard should be based on SO's, and for anything above that... there's Platinum!

Exactly - one group of players is getting nerfed the other group is just adjusting to work around the imposed cap.

Um, no. There aren't any casual 8-man groups composed of three characters (a two-boxer and a dead weight) fighting only level 52 boss mobs.

And the 1500 ticket per person per mission cap is really only going to be an issue for the latter.
