April Fan Art Battle - Elimination round - VOTE!

OK so we need an elimination for April before we can move on. Unfortunately this means that the natives have to vote someone off the island. I really hope the artist chosen to be eliminated won't have their feelings hurt. It's just a friendly competition :P

The entire forums can vote! No matter who you are! Even if you are a lurker that rarely posts. Your vote counts!

Now with the limited time i am gonna hold this to 2 days. We need to get May going. So out of the 5 pieces below i need you to chose ONE piece that in your opinion didn't make the cut for the "VS" theme for April. Even if one person votes then it will be counted for the elimination so make sure to lobby for your favorite artist if you don't want them eliminated. Also get the word out quick! 2 days is pretty short!

(try to remember, you're voting for the piece, not the artist)

<ul type="square">[*]Milk_Weasel
<ul type="square">[*]The_Foo
<ul type="square">[*]Xertul
<ul type="square">[*]Crestent
<ul type="square">[*]Aprosaath
Also remember you are voting for the one piece that you think did not catch the mood/feeling/vibe of the "VS" theme. The artist chosen will be eliminated from the FArt competition. Best of luck guys! The clocks ticking!

I know this is a hard thing to ask you guys to do but remember we are voting on the piece not that artist.

In that vein i am going to have to go with Milk_Weasel. With that piece i honestly could barely tell what it was. With the VS theme it didn't seem to catch it at all. I know you were in a hurry Weasel.

I said I vote for me!

Wait, that's not right. I vote against me?

Milk_Weasel. I couldn't tell what was going on either. Didn't know what it was until I looked at the title (I skip the title so that I'm not influenced.)

I'll go with Milk Weasel, he had a different idea but the action was all clumped up at the top and hard to understand.

I think they all have charm, but will vote for Xertul's, because they seem less like they're fighting than the others.

I'll go with Milk_Weasel as well. I barely made out what was going on via the title.

Ouch, not that I want to help pull the trigger on anyone; I vote for Milk_Weasel, even though the battle would naturally be quick, the piece is more like an after-fight scene rather than a vs. I know MW had a limited amount of time to accomplish it and with more time the piece could have fleshed out some of its potential.

UGH! and I thought just picking one favorite out of several great entries was hard! THIS is brutal!

But I'll have to go with Milk_Weasel's entry

I must say - I like the *concept* of a Giant Monster vs. a little Rikti Monkey, but it *is* very difficult to discern what's going on and who the combatants are. We're just not seeing enough of either of them.

This is not fun, but I have to vote for Crestent. I feel like Milk Weasel had a more complete idea and form, though both are very light sketches that are quite rushed and not nearly what they could be. Milk Weasel's idea also has a bit of "ouch" to it, as well as a sense of fun.

I think both could have worked much better as pictures (the concepts in them could be very interesting/intriguing), so I'm sure that a lack of time is mostly what inhibited them (though if you're going to be in an art contest, even if it's fun, go for it! don't dally!). Execution and giving yourself enough time to work is a huge part of any creative effort, so I hope no one runs out of time anymore.

I've got to go with Crestent this time. Mostly because it's just a quicky, and I can't even see it before zooming in.

we have to this the other way around next time ... voting to keep someone isn't as painful as "kicking someone off the island"

[/ QUOTE ]Only one elimination per round means this is how it has to be done. Voting to keep someone means, unless there's two people to be voted on, more than one person would be eliminated.

(and if there's only two people to be voted on, it's basically "kicking someone off the island" anyway :x )

Call it what you want, but I prefer not to vote against anyone. I'm more than happy to state my opinion on which I prefer, though, but not single out someone in the negative. Voter's prerogative.

at first i thought everyone liked me when i saw my name alot. Then i realized it's voting the other way.

The image is supposed to be a view from just above the knee on a tree GM when he footstomps on a rikti monkey. Guess it didn't look like that to anyone else.

Perhaps for then next elimination round, TA should gather PMs for everyone's votes. For example, have them all titled "X Month Elimination" so he can easily identify them to tally votes.

After all, I would rather shoot someone in the back of the head than in their face...just saying. Now just don't shoot me for stating this
