List of ways to promote your arc!
SG/friends gets the job done for me
I don't agree w/ sending tells to people though...or the ticket whiners who get mad cause you 1 star'd their arc even though it wasn't fun at all.

Just saw this in a recent post:
<ul type="square">[*]Include an exciting or tempting screenshot in your mission description! (a preview of your custom Boss or Enemy Group would be great)[/list]Best of all: no art skills necessary!
Craft your inventions in AE!!
Play "Crafter's Cafe" - Arc #487283. A 1 mission, NON-COMBAT AE arc with workable invention tables!
how about posting a youtube video promoting your arc, like showing the gist of what to expect in your arc, I would post a link to my video in a thread containing my arc but I don't thing it is allowed here. but still youtube is a good place to advertise your arc.
Youtube vid is already on the list, and yes, you CAN post a link to it...just keep it clean

I've just finished up an external site to track player reviews of MA arcs... always up for feedback.

Someone in another thread suggested by mentioning one of yours when you send a review on someone else's. This could be incredibly cheesy if done wrong, but it's still a thought. If nothing else, just make it a polite suggestion - the better your review (meaning thoughtfulness and helpfulness, not number of stars), the better I'd think your chances would be.

Add to it!
Party Clown,
For players on Virtue, I've added the in-game channel "Virtue Publishing" for promoting arcs and seeking MA teams. Obviously a global channel is great for promoting, but I feel each server should have their own so that teaming is made simpler.
Hope that helps!

Arc #15364 Frostfire's Plea
if not noted - for arcs that are story driven (not for a challenge, farming, etc) - add the tag SFMA (for story focused mission arc) in the description.
There are 6 pages of them already, and people will search for the tag.

Please, no. Immersion is abused enough already.
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.
What ever happened to in-game ads? Has anyone ever seen them? How much do they cost?
Hmmm, while I've got my account reactivated... try the site that the EU have put together for mission reviews and listings - seems to be a bit more comprehensive (so far) than some of the offerings here...
City of Guides Mission Listings and Reviews
Nice site, but are we allowed to post US arcs on it?

Of course! Nothing stopping you and we can play your arcs over here too.

I think arcs and comments/reviews written by players on the US-servers are more than welcome at City of Guides - especially while the ingame comments don't work between the US and EU server groups.
I suspect that you may need to list an arc at the site before you can leave comments, but I may be wrong on that!

I used the reverse today - contacting people who'd previously commented on my arcs when I published a new arc.
I've been keeping a txt file of feedback received on my arcs and so used that as my 'mailing-database' when I published a new arc today...
So the people (on the EU servers as that's my main home) who had really enjoyed one of my arcs that was similar (in both tongue-in-cheek humour and length) to the new one were sent a tell something like this:
As someone who enjoyed my sense of poor humour in the past, I'd like to let you know that "City of Norms" (arc 132944) is my new JD-style-humour look at the recent events on the EU boards. Hopefully you'll enjoy it if you try it!
Now I think by keeping to people who really enjoyed a similar arc I managed to:
a) Keep the mailing list small;
and
b) Avoid it being just a spam mailshot to all and sundry.
Not sure if it's the sort of promotion idea you're after in this thread - but initial results suggest that (done carefully/sensibly) it seems to work.
Everyone should try my ARC on Virtue called "The One Hit Wonder and the Untold Conspiracy" Arc #150471. Its really sweet and really random, should be fairly easy to solo. It involves history, espionage, conspiracy, demons and other mischief. Enjoy!!
I have taken careful notes here and now have infinite ways to promote my arc.
Unfortunately,, I have not come up with a good arc idea yet to create, let alone promote.
Oh, well. At least I'm having fun playing some of yours.

Well you could use your super-promoting powers only for good by finding arcs you like by other players and promoting them...
You need a "Ways NOT to promote your arc" list.
It can start with:
Posting "Play my Arc" messages in otherwise unrelated threads.
MArch spam has come to the forums.
