Stalker...non defense
Ninjitsu is still the best option, it was the best when defense was crap and it's even better now with Elusivity (even with only 10% elusivity) and DR working on the excessive tohit buffs.
You get a decent heal and a godmode that will still make you hard to hit after i14 despite all the doom talk. You also get a Confuse in Blinding Powder which has a ridiculously long duration (something like 10-15 seconds) meaning you should never die in a 1vs1.
Stay away from elec. It's always been horrible and will continue to be bad.
A stalker can rely on 2 main things...either defense or +HP/healing. Defense is becoming useless in I14. So +HP and healing will become prevalent. That means either regen or WP. WP is most likely to become fotm. You can get max HP, combined with decent res and a great self heal. Plus perception, repel protection, etc. No other set really has that much to offer.
Keep in mind. Defense will NOT be the same as it was in I12. It will be worse. The whole community just spent an entire issue making their toons be able to compete vs high defense toons. With defense being brough back to its original form, what we'll be left with is the same defense...but MUCH higher accuracy and tohit, on average. This will especially be noticeable in RV and arena, where the players with the biggest IO investments tend to play. Defense there is likely to become a complete laughing stock....at least outside of tier 9's.
go /dark. That way you can rez after you get pwned.

Try EM/Regen...its not defense and you get lotsa healing.
I don't PvP on champion much, but if you come to freedom I'll be happy to kick your butt.
Spines/WP, Spines/Regin, Spines/Nin.

I know that it's cool to hate on i13/14 and all that, but are we forgetting what PB'ed Aim and/or BU did to defense chars? And how many IOs did you need for that? I used to PvP with a fort which had 67% ranged defense and when blasters lit up I went SPLAT 95% of the time, it was either phase or die. If i14 means a blaster will only go as high as a 90% chance to hit me no matter what then I'll consider it an improvement. And I'm just using blasters here as an example since they're pretty common, but there were plenty of other chars which had access to massive amounts of tohit.
When it comes down to it, I'd rather get wrecked by someone who spent a bil or two on purples and other accuracy sets than by someone with one or two powers that can completely negate my entire secondary.
I think you're all being too quick to forget the many shortcomings of pre-i13 PvP, especially when it came to tohit vs defense.

Then you better stay out of CoH/V PvP, where one or two powers DO negate entire secondaries... and people will invest some fortune on these one or two powers, btw.

Nin is not the best option.....they nerfed defense to [censored] test and will hit live soon..and you have no Repel Protection..so if you play zone and a bunch of storm's come..your Fed. WP is probaly the best option now....has perception and has repel resist. Regen is good still with its survivability but the lack of perc and repel resist make it a liability...most regens i know drop fitness and take tatics...but you cant play sloppy having no Stamina. With that being said...WP is it Heal, repel protection and Perception.
I was under the impression that you can cap Stalker hp with accolades and IOs. Base hp for a stalker is 1204, cap is 1606. So you would only need a 30% increase to hp. I know im not going regen just because of the pure squishiness and not being able to see people with stealth. Not going dark because a rez is not worth the mediocore res and the heal that is crappy in pvp.
Right now I'm down to elec or WP, I just dont see how elec is go gimp in PvP. Only difference is that WP has a heal and perception while elec has higher resistance and a sapping utensil.
WP is much better.
elec has no heal and that killz the set.
WP also has High Pain Tolerance which give you res to all and is like Dull Pain that is always running....if you roll elec...you yourself will get rolled...just go WP has to many good things not too.
The dull pain thing doesnt matter if I'm capped with accolades and IOs though. The only thing it has thats better is perception and a heal...is the heal really worth it when I have hibernate up everytime nophase resets?
Willpower > Everything else.
Has Mediocre Res and Def, Self heal, and +Percept.
/Elec is laughable because you will gain NOTHING from ur Tier 9 thanks to DR. Also you have no self heal and NO DEFENSE. Yes Defense is going to be weak in i14 but you will still want some, especially as a stalker.
/Elec offers just a lil more than /dark does...and that isn't saying much. If your not WP, Regen, or SR I don't think you'll be worth much. Not sure if /Energy is still decent.
But the lesson best learned is one lived. So make your /elec and i think you'll be re-considering your choice.

Went Willpower...I'm not gonna hit cap unless i slot for hp exclusively...which in turn would probably make my build worse.
Reconstruction can get up to 49 percent heal. Thats about the same as 49% res.
Electric armor has 18 percent more res than WP, but Willpower has about 40percent more than elec considering how much heal is worth.
Also: learned that in pvp Power Sink only saps 18 end, in pve it sapped 80 percent end so it was good until I saw the numbers for pvp. Also: only 30% chance for recovery debuff.
Thanks for talking me out of elec guys. I've already wasted enough time making pointless pvp toons...
(See spines/SR scrap and Widow)
spines/sr and nw are both NOT a waste of time. How ever in i14 they get big nerf.
Pretty sure that's what he meant. He just made the toons cuz they were great...and now they're gonna be bad. Hence the waste of time.
The problem is that we never know what will happen next. When a dev team is truly clueless, there's no way to predict anything at all. For all we know, WP could be nerfed tomorrow.
I knew defense was overpowered, and I really should have seen it coming. However, my blaster is more survivable then the NW and spines/SR, and tanks can do more damage than my scrapper.
When a tank does more damage than my scrapper and is more survivable, wouldnt you think I should have made a tank too? So many things are changing right now anyways... not sure what will be good or what will be bad in 3 months.

This.
Personally, I haven't been very impressed with the WP stalkers I've seen. They just seem to die quicker than their Regen or Nin counter parts. Regen stalkers, well, it's just impossible to kill those bastards (when played by a good player) and the Ninjitsus I've encountered, between the godmode, shadow meld and 15 secs confuse on blinding powder, don't seem to die either.
I'm not too concerned about survivability. I have a self heal and hibernate. Good enough. The set gives lots of room for sets, taking advantage of resistance sets, def sets, and all those heal uniques. I'm very happy with the build I have planned out and it looks like it's going to go well.

You probably haven't seen any good ones. Which is reasonable, considering how popular nin is nowadays, and how popular regen has been always. There just aren't that many WP stalkers around.
I remember Zero (pretty sure he was unanimously considered the #1 stalker in the game right before he quit...Teknix or something was the name) played a WP stalker, and he was just as unkillable as any regen or Nin.
Why was he so unkillable?
Well mainly cuz any stalker played by a top player is essentially unkillable
Yeah I forgot about TekniQ, but for every near unkillable WP you come across 10 near unkillable regens/nins, and there are reasons for that.
Going to make a stalker for pvp, but I'm not making any defense toons because they cant decide if its gonna be good or crap. Looking at Elec because it has the highest res, and willpower because of the res and heal. Also looking at Dark Melee for primary or Energy melee. Energy because of hard hitting attacks and Energy Transfer not requiring hidden for hard hitting goodness, and dark melee for Siphon life to help myself without having to hit hibernate, and Shadow Maul which can be slotted with PBAOE, enabling me to slot another purple proc and a pvp set proc.
Any suggestions as to what I should do? I'm looking at Elec armor because of good resistance levels and possible sapping with Power Sink. Any suggestions as to how good dark melee/EM is? Anyone have darkmelee/elec or EM/elec builds? Any tips? Taking Hibernate Shark Jaws n Spirit shark, btw
