I forgive you for taking such a long sabbatical from the boards.

Now I may need to take one with your arts...

It was Metacreations for a while... then Curious Labs, then E Frontier. Now it seems to be held by a new group; MySmithMicro

I'm planning to put a tutorial on my site that'll show all the steps.

I'd really enjoy that.

I agree about the feeling one gets when you realize what kind of portfolio DarkJedi has.

You know, that "Dude! I've got SO MUCH of his artwork in a backpack!!!" feeling.

And.... tutorial? That would be really really cool, Doug.

"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."

I tried DAZ 2 or 3 years ago, but it was really wonky on my Mac. REALLY wonky! Would this be a newer version, perchance? Maybe a little happier with OS X?

I use Poser 7 for core rendering, Wassy. But you can has arts with DazStudio as well!
I run OSX, and have started playing with the newest iteration of the free program. It's not NEARLY as unstable as it used to be... which was a huge turn-off. The primary issue now is that if you have content compiled for Poser, it does NOT automatically work in DazStudio. Unless said content has DS-specific CR2s, you'll have to build what you want in Poser, then export it as an object file, then import it into DS.

DS SHOULD import Poser files directly, but that feature - after many attempts - seems to only work-as-advertised OCCASIONALLY. Importing objects always seems easier, if not faster.

The big plus for DazStudio would be the inexpensive 3rd-party tools and content developed specifically for the program, and offered through the Daz website. Some of it is really cool, easy to use, and exclusive to DS.

As Doug stated, although it's come a long way over the past year-odd, DS is still PoserLite; but it's not a bad item to pick up if you want to test-drive a Poser-ish 3D scene set-up program without diving full-bore into the Poser microverse.

Hope that helped. :-)

Ah, thanks! I'll give it another whirl.

I actually don't need any sort of content... I just want to be able to pose basic models. Something better than the artist wooden models, ya know? With doing the comic art... its really hard to find photographic reference of the really gravity-defying poses.

I'll be rich and powerful enough to hire a full-time personal model who can levitate someday!

I would say what an amazing piece that is but i don't feel like i've seen enough of your work to even comment on it. Everyone holds you in such high regard i feel like i shouldn't even have the guts to compliment your work.
