I simply came in here to say... the video with the destruction then rise of the phoenix rez? Simply awesome. I'm so gonna make a character around this just so I can do this once a session.

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.

Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012

I must have this.

Sorry, I don't see it. The pieces are rather generic. Perhaps any nanosuit-like features you see are because they draw on common sources. Is it the artificial muscles?

Look up McKibben Air Muscles. That general look seems to have found its way into a lot of sci-fi/cyberpunk in the past decade. Or maybe even further.

I dunno about you guys, but those pieces make me think Jay plays too much Crysis.

I have an idea. It starts with 's' and ends with 'litting their throats.'"

That was great! This may actually give me a reason to take my Fire/Ice tank out of mothballs...

I'd be interested if anyone's seen Howling Twilight work yet. I was toying with making a Dark character and this would definitely give me insentive.

Looks like a rehash of the stealth and enforcer parts to me... Glad now I didn't pay the $10. I want an actual laserbeam eye pool.

Only a rehash in the sense of it being also tech themed, the parts look far different (I especially love the face details and the shoulder pads)

The shoulder pads and gloves are my favs. And I'd have to agree... these pieces look drastically different than the enforcer parts (but can work together nicely).

Power
The power included with the Cyborg Pack is called 'Self Destruction'. The power has a 1 hour recharge, 10 second activation time, 40 foot radius, 16 target cap, deals 535.44 damage at level 50, 50 damage at level 1, will not give you any debt, and inspirations/self rez powers will still work (not sure about other players using ally rez abilities)
Self Destruction from a distance
Higher quality, close up Self Destruction
Self Destruction failing to kill a player, but removes the body
Self Destructing Bane Spider, demonstrates rezzing after as well as the knockback
Self Destruction - Rise of the Phoenix, can you say oh so thematically appropriate?

[/ QUOTE ]

[u]Self Destruction + Stealth[u]: Since Self Destruction is an attack power, the moment you click on it, all forms of Stealth, Invisibility, Combat Invisibility, and even Hide is suppressed. Stealth will get you close to your foe, but clicking on Self Destruct is an attack, albeit one where the damage is delayed 10 seconds, and thus it suppresses all Stealth. However, if you can reduce your foe's Perception, such as with a Smoke Grenade, then you can click on Self Destruction and not worry about been seen and attacked.

[u]Self Destruction + Phasing[u]: If you fire off Self Destruction while phased, you will do no damage to your foes -- even if you come out of phase before the explosion. This is because the moment you click on Self Destruction, it does all the checks as if it were a regular self centered AoE attack, it's just that the damage application and its animation happens 10 seconds after the click. When you click the power, it checks for phased status, and if you're phased when you click on the power, you won't do any damage to foes (but you will to yourself and you'll still explode real good).

Thanks! Added notes about these, as well as re-formating the section about the power (list instead of paragraph to make it easier to read).

And some more information:

A character that has been Self Destructed is untargetable by any teammates or allies. This prevents the use of powers that target 'the dead' such as Vengeance. This also prevents teleporting Destructed characters with Recall Friend. And it prevents rezzing a Destructed character with rezzes that require you to target 'the dead.' However, powers that effect 'the dead' without having to target them first will still work. Assemble the Team, Recall Team, and Team Teleport will teleport a Destructed character since it does not target 'the dead' to move them. Howling Twilight, an Area of Effect rez will ressurect a Destructed player since it targets a foe and not the 'dead' character.

A player can rez their own character after Self Destruct by choosing to go to the Hospital or their Base if they have one. Also, self-rezzing powers work such as Rise of the Phoenix or even a 'wakie' inspiration will also work. In fact, if you level up after using Self-Destruct, you will automatically rez powered up with the level-up inspirations.

[psst. 'castor' should be 'caster']

Btw, it seems possible to receive a rez pez from a teammate. I believe you can do it by right-clicking on the inspiration and using the "give to" feature.

I could be wrong, since I was the "explodee" not the giver when this happened, but my teammate said she was going to give me a wakie, and one appeared in my tray. It's possible that it was just a drop with perfect timing, but I don't believe it to be the case. I will have to test it tonight, if possible.

You can drop insps, including wakies on their name in the team window even if their Destructed.
