You know, I remember when there were only a couple of us who actually did the whole video thing and were known for it. You couldn't throw a rock without hitting a fan artist, but videographers were few and far between.

And now look at the variety of people posting in this thread, waiting to find out what fate NCSoft has in mind for us...

Although when I had the title, I invariably got one of two responses when filming in PvP zones.

Response 1:
I'd announce that I was in the zone strictly to film... and promptly became the target of everyone in the zone, over and over and over and over and over again. (It wasn't until at one point, some (presumably) n00b saw the gold title and mistakenly took me for a dev and promptly told everyone in the zone that I was a dev that they left me alone for fear of the "I WIN" attack.)

Response 2:
I'd enter a PvP zone and announce that I was there just to film, and I had people following me around acting like bouncers keeping other PvPers away from me and offering to help and generally being very cool about it. A couple even told me where to find some really awesome locations for filming and showed me how to get there.

Then again, this was back when I was the only person with the "Videographer" title and everyone knew me as "the chick who makes videos". I am no longer a unique entity.

Now there's a thought... Videographers are automatically immune in PvP zones! Or intangible... we can't hit them, they can't hit us. We are the Switzerlands of the PvP zones.

Maybe what you need is to get a rabbit.

Someone goes into the zone and announces "I'm just here to film!" and draws all the PVPers to a part of the zone where you're not... then elsewhere, you film in peace?

hmm.. I wonder...

There was talk about something new happening to bases in the upcoming issues...

Perhaps this thing they are speaking about is a sort of precursor to that new system.

It would be posted here because maybe we can edit maps and stuff. Again a precursor to making your own storyarchs in future issues.

This would allow us to not demo edit but ingame edit and make our own maps/zones and NPC which we could then of course use for taking screen shots for comic books, videos and stuff.

I dont get the shakespear refrence though. Thats the missing piece to this puzzle...

1. Contest: Make a machinima ad to be used to promote CoX on TV/etc., for Prizes.
2. Make an ad (possibly moving, possibly stationary) to be used in-game, for Prizes.

Not sure about the reference, either. Basing it on the Multimedia Forum placement.
