Discussion: Casting Call for Costumes!

GAH, I was gonna try and make it today, but I hadn't realized it would be at NINE in the MORNING?! On a saturday!? I wasn't even out of BED yet... Poop. I was gonna try fetching another character for you.

For me it started at 11am. It'll be over in about 15 minutes and I still haven't gotten a character to copy to test. So much for this rare shot when I had someone to watch the kids for me.

I wanted to give a quick shout-out to ChaseArcanum (the videographer) for staying late at the event Friday to help accomodate those folks who were stuck in the "Connecting #XYZ" fiasco. He could have easily defaulted to "well, there's another call scheduled for Saturday, try to attend then. But lucky for us, that's just not Chase's style. I very belated to the event as a result (finally got in about a half hour after the event was supposed to end) and Chase was still in Pocket D filming folks. I was able to get my little Ethereal Ember into the final "anything goes" group shot. Thanks Chase, you're awesome!

I couldn't get the patch downloaded over the weekend, even though I tried twice. It FINALLY downloaded last night, and now I find out about this. *LOL* Awesome!

Yes, I thought it was very nice that filming ran late for people like me who finally got past the Connecting #X at five minutes before the event was set to end. Thank you!

I had test up and running without much problem, but I couldn't get my character copied over. I had even worked with my husband to make certain he would have the boys during that time slot so I wouldn't have to worry about having to get up and go feed the baby.

*sigh*

Finally, after HOURS and HOURS of slogging away at it, my Issue 12 trailer is finished! And I have to admit, this is probably the best video I've done since I started making videos for COH.

And I will have all of you know - ALL of the 1930s Midnighters, ALL of the 1960s Midnighters, and ALL of the Roman armor folks that I was capturing screenshots of and demorecords of over the course of two days during the casting calls on the test server...

... YOU ARE IN HERE. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. YOU.

It may be but a brief glimpse in a crowd, but since you guys went through the effort to get into the casting call... I went through the effort to get you into the video.

Yes, that is News Flash you see at the 33second mark, and I tried to get a couple of the VEATs in there as well. Didn't concentrate on them as much because the video is only so long.

I'm curious about one thing. I saw a character that looked a lot like one of mine, but wasn't, doing an animation that I know I didn't do in Pocket D. Did you make toons wearing the costumes you recorded and then use them for the scenes you wanted?

What I did was during the open casting call in Pocket D, I divided folks up into groups based on their costumes, took screenshots so I knew who was who, and then /demorecorded what was going on in Pocket D. That way I could have them doing whatever I wanted in my actual video. There were... I think 27 people in Roman outfits in Pocket D, and ALL of them appear in that shot where they're all standing in front of Imperious and cheering.

Sorry if I'm not making any sense, I'm still god-awful sick and exhausted.
