I want one!!
I would rather commission someone to do it themselves. Using a machine lacks a personal touch.
I would want one, but at $100 a pop that could be ridiculous... nice marketing ploy though, this item should be back up for years.
Turbo-Ski talking about personal touches makes me nervous
^.^
There are other options.
Reaper Mini Forums
Crusoe might be able to point you in a direction, but mind that the minis he created are more in the 28mm size for miniature gaming as opposed to the 4" figures of Figureprinting.
Obviously, they'd also require painting.

I hate double-posting, but...
I can hook you up with the industry greats such as Sandra Garrity or Jason Wiebe. They do charge a lot and turnaround is dependent upon their workload. Again, 28mm in size, instead of the 4", is their typical working size and painting is not done. You'll basically end up with a green.
Otherwise, you can look into people trying to get into the industry via the reapermini forums or coolminiornot.com.

Isn't there a toy company that does nothing but this? I know I've seen the featured on TV before... It's kind of expensive but the quality is really really good. Those were kinda... meh. And It's a strange way to do it for WoW... Being as how you look is dependant on what you have equiped... For a while my human male rogue was running around in a top made of leather belts and furry underwear cause it was the best armor I could find at the time... Not really something I'd want a statue of...
I don't know. I'd really like to be able to get a costume figure that I have chosen the pose and what not. There are pros and cons to both ways. One allows a very hands on approach by you. The other is more 'special' and a bit of a surprise.
I think it would be great if City of Heroes had a simular program or offer.
=^_^=
I agree with the Otter Queen on this one, I would love a figure of Plasma Stream in the 4inch or better size. Right now all I have is a Repaint of Blackfire from the Teen Titans series.

Wow. Just wow. If I could get my ice tank (look at avatar) with icicles included, that would be awesome. Oh, and if I could get it for less, that would be super too. But you get what you pay for. $100 for a 4 inch figure, painted, ain't bad. Did you see the example photos? These look like McFarlane-like quality.

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.
Rapid prototyping is a very cool thing, the expense comes in on the CAD side of design, modeling a 3D image that detailed needs some serious horsepower. If you haven't seen a rapid prototyping machine before either, it takes a decent amount of time to build up things, sometimes a few days. For $100, that's a fricking great deal considering it comes painted too.
those models look really cool.. i didn't think they were physical objects when looking at the gallery. of course, it could just be the lighting..
but i know of another that's been doing it for a while (for Mii, Second Life and Sketch Up) called Fabjectory. they don't look as crisp, but at least the "paint" couldn't be chipped.. talk about "baked textures"! (i know.. bad joke.. hehe)
anyhoo.. yes, of course it would rock to have a little statue of several of my characters!

@CybinMonde: Nethershift - (50) - Dark/Regen/Dark scrapper (Infinity)
@Solunis: Desumater - (27) - Elec/Dark brute (Pinnacle); Syrah - (23) - DB/WP scrapper (Pinnacle) (proud member of Pinnacle on Tap)
Interestng. Seems like a promising add-on market for MMOs in general. With CoX gaining a shared database site for looking at characters (like WoW's armory) most of the same resources are available.
that is cool I am going to have to get me one of them
That's pretty neat - I have a friend who creates custom HeroClix for people to use as miniatures for their tabletop RPGs (like Champions).. I'm sure if I needed to, he could make my chars for me... even in the bigger size...

Very nice. I would love to get one as well. Hell, may need to order one of my Draenei Shaman.

Justice Company
You know... this brings up odd legality questions though. It's a service for a service (I miss the days when entertainment was a product...) not owned or run by the originating company. Well, whatever, so long as they don't get sued or shut down. WoW has a lot of really talented and dedicated fans behind it. With things like the WoW Model Viewer, and the Map Viewer, all the really cool Machinima (I've seen some for CoH, but it has a terrible acronym so it's hard to find.) Like the stuff from Myndflame and whatnot.
But then I suppose the WarCraft brand has had a good many years to gather a huge following of fans who've been modding for it all along, where as CoH just kind of popped up and gathered together a mish-mash of comic fans, and people just there for the character customization. As a brand it's not especially strong because of the way it's been marketed. That is to say, you don't really see many adds for it like you do WoW... I mean heck... Lions Gate is workin on a WoW movie...
I had a point... but I lost it... Either way. I play both. And some free Korean MMOs, like DOMO. It all ends up being the same, unless it's a graphical chatroom like Second Life.
I wish COH would offer the same deal....
