I must ask this, who is the foxy lady in the blue shirt in this picture?
[/ QUOTE ]
This foxy lady rules the PVPEC roost her name is Azrhiaz and she calls Triumph home, makes you reconsider getting involved in the PvP action doesn't it?

Vince is a CoH Cryptic Developer. I didn't know he came over to NCSoft (or is he attending as a fan of the game who happens to be Cryptic employee?).

Yes, it is.

That would be Azrhiaz, head of the PVPEC. She shared a table with the City Scoop staff and was meeting with City of Heroes fan. She's incredibly knowledgeable, and I loved comparing my newbie knowledge of PvP with someone "in the know".
She confirmed it: Masterminds in Arena will always be an uphill battle.

Is data already being tracked for the vault?
If so, for how long has it been tracking?

Yeah.
As for how long, not sure, sorry.
Edit: actually, it's all data that the server already tracks, as I understand it. It's just making it available for the web servers to have and presenting it via the Vault pages.

Actually, I believe the plus one is in reference to the great and mighty pohsyb.
I could be wrong however. It's happened before and I'm sure it will happen again.
And for whoever asked before, yes, Azrhiaz is a very foxy lady. Almost enough to make me want to test out the PvP waters. Almost.

So from the NCSoft Q&A all character names, server location and costumes are displayed via the vault regardless of the in-game settings?
[ QUOTE ]
. As noted back on the 20th of November, "you will have the option of hiding your Statistics, Powers, Badges, and Friends list from inclusion on the public web page." You'll have to live with knowing your character's name, image, level, server, archetype, and origin are searchable via the Vault

[/ QUOTE ]
I felt a bit sorry for Jesse (Ghost Falcon) during the Q&A. He was showing off the City Vault by bringing up names he knew and doing some searches. He typed in Texas Justice, scrolled over to make sure he was getting the one from Justice then clicked the name. Up pops a new page with my name. I don't recall if my AT or Server were listed, and I was in a holding pattern at the time with no SG, but there was no other data available. I had set the options to not show anything on the web for this character for testing purposes, and it worked out as a nice surprise test at the event. I felt bad so went up and gave him Eyes of Texas as a name, and you can see in one of the Massively.com pictures a shot of her powers as he hovered over them showing the tooltips that come up.
I wouldn't mind having the option to hide everything from the webpage, but there is no real need for it that I can see. As others mentioned, this is a good way to do a check online to see if a name is available or if you are trying to remember the exact spelling of a person you teamed with or a friends name and what server they are on. Had this been available at launch, more than 1 SG wouldn't have had to move servers because several people they convinced to play the game couldn't remember the server name and picked what they thought was right.
I must remember to change my options next time I'm on, as I have no problems with people seeing my information, I just haven't had a chance.
Jesse, Ghost Falcon, I'm sorry man, but it did show off that feature during the Meet N Greet.

Just FYI, while it's a help, the City Vault isn't the best way to check if a name is available on a server as characters who haven't been active in over 90 days won't show.
The check name feature at character select is a much better way to check names.

I had intended to say that it is a good way to check for a name when you are not at a computer that has the game installed. Sometime inspiration hits when you are around a computer with internet access but no CoF, such as at w*rk. Luckily for me, I can get to the game from w*rk but not to the website, and the game plays fairly well on my laptop. I have however convinced them to unblock the forums for me.
Sorry LH, I goofed that one up.

True, but I had this idea.
Let's say that I really, really want a particular name. The Vault will at least let me know if that name is for sure taken on any server, so I can start checking the others, thus preventing me from trying 12 times for a name that might be taken on 12 servers already.
Infinity
Co-Leader, Paragon City Defense Fleet
Co-Leader, Scions of Arachnos
Captain Cure, Emp/Rad Def
Captain Corruption, Robot/Traps MM

Altoholics Anon.
Except, as LH pointed out, characters that have been offline for 90 days or more will not show up. That was the one piece I missed when I made my original comment. In many cases you'll be able to see if that name is in use, but not always in the case of the character that hasn't logged in for 90 days.

Very true. I just meant a cursory check. Something not showing up in the Vault doesn't mean it's not taken, but it's a good first step if you're on a computer that doesn't have the game installed.
Then again, outside of the work environment, why would anyone want to use a computer that doesn't have the game installed?

I can think of several computers I go to that don't have the game installed. I'm a computer tech, so I'm often at people's houses, and sometimes will get to discussing the game. Or at a friend or family members house and either talking about the game or trying to get them into the game. Being able to show them the City Vault and some of my characters or other players in the game can only be a good thing. How many people do you know that have gotten started playing the game just from seeing the Costume Creator screens at a friends house? I know of a few. This would just expand that even more.
You reiterated the point I was trying to get at earlier about a quick-n-dirty cursory check on a name. It doesn't substitute for the Check Name feature in the game, but it does give you a bit of an idea if a name might be available.
EDIT: As I've said earlier, I can play the game from work, but can't get to the website due to our filters, except for the forums. Once the City Vault goes live, I may have to petition at work to have those pages unblocked. It took me a while, but I finally got them to unblock the forums and leave them unblocked for me.
