Weird costume dilemma.

Chisoku

Posted

Well, Now that Halloween ended (Like, a week ago. Man, I'm behind. Thanks a lot, school), I decided I'd get rid of my rediculous Bowser Halloween costume for Chisoku. However, I was having a somewhat difficult time finding a different costume type to fill in the new gap that was made. So, I just dove into the costume shop and made one.

Thing is, I'm really not quite sure if I want to keep it or not. The new one I made is on the left. Default costume on the right. Basically, that brings up two different questions:

1. Which of the two do you think is better?

2. If I had to replace the third costume, what should I replace it with?

And that's my question, and slight dilemma. I'd appreciate any suggestions from y'all.

1. right one
2. Well you could do a civilian or normal person look then do taht sentai transformation bit.

Nah, I already did one of those for the first one.

well you could make some modifications to the original costume and then change the colors, making a Chisoku Version 2.0 bit. However I don't think you'll ever top the original costume (was the same with me and my Turbo-Ski too).

Yeah, that's how it is with many of my characters. The other outfits are just variations on their first, often something with a "specific" use, such as hazard, space, or tactical versions.

Really, I think I just get it in my mind that the first costume is how the character looks, and its can be hard to visualize them in something drastically different.

Anyhow:

1. The right one
2. Well you have your base suit and a civilian look... how about an "improvised" costume? What would he wear if he found himself in a situation where he needed to protect his identity, but for some reason couldn't transform into his sentai version.

*shrug*

I think they both look fine, though the left costume could use better boots/gloves.

Suggestion: every good scrapper needs a "berserker mode" costume. Optionally tied to a tier9 macro.

To be honest, I like them both. But if you only want one, may I suggest combining the two of them? Keep the helmet and main body of the original, but replace the Gloves, Boots, and Scarf with that of the second.

Just my opinion on the matter.

And that is precisely why we need "Brown Paper Bag" as a helmet option.

Yeah. That's perfect for those of us with no sense of style.

Dang, the crazy costume ideas I would come up with that in mind...

Personally I like them both but a suggestion? Combine them.

Your original outfit is much nicer. The new one looks hastily thrown together in an attempt to use the piston boots. Get rid of the boots altogether and go with something that fits the theme.

I suggest a costume that represents his tier 9 Elude power. A streamlined outfit that's similar to his original, but less bulky looking. You can use one of the many smooth metal textures for it, and perhaps shift the main color to something else, like red, green or purple. Then you can change into it when you pop Elude (once you get it) and call it "Chisoku Accel" or "Chisoku Rush."

Or you could use it if you have Hasten in your build. Costume switches for sentai style characters are totally appropriate when you activate some hidden power or a rarely used attribute. I'd build on that idea.

Hmm... I like your thinking Suichiro. Of course, the only activation boost power I have so far is Focus Chi, and the only other one I plan to get is elude.

It helps that I have a Rider style char that looks damn close to Chisoku. If I ever get him high enough to get MoG, it's getting it's own outfit and Engrish title.

Actually, I didn't say it, but I already had a 'Tier 9' outfit. Well, maybe it's a battle damage outfit, but either way, he looks like this:
Drops the helmet and scarf, and electricity begins to spark on his armor. Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention that, but nonetheless, I already decided on a tier 9 outfit.

So, anybody else got any ideas? Any help is still appreciated.

EDIT: Now, this is hardly what I'd consider a Makeshift costume, but for some reason, I actually like it. It reminds me a little of Cyborg 009 (who actually has an extremely similar premise to Chisoku, now that I think of it).

You think it's good? What would you change on it?

Awesome Chisoku!

Alright. Guess that's what I'm settling on. Thanks for all advice, guys!

I'd avoid that deep of a black. Choose something slightly lighter and it won't draw away from your outfit as much.
