Take The Homosexual Agenda done by a web comic artist who played the game, for example (name escapes me; most of you probably know who I'm thinking of).

Mac hall/3 panel soul. -
Damn, that is impessive. Good work.

Hmm.. Turnout for this week wasn't too good. Perhaps it was double XP, or perhaps there wasn't much room to expand on the theme. Regardless, if you all really want me to judge, just tell me.
EDIT: Ok, I will!
Flash Pyre
I like this design. It might be a bit basic, but that grey jacket he's wearing really helps to break the monotony. Only thing I'm not keen on is his hairdo, which looks a bit strange to me at least. Still, very solid design.
Speed Limit
This one is pretty good as well. Only thing I'm not too keen on is the constant gray scheme going on. I would've snuck a bit more blue into the design; maybe on a belt buckle or something. Still, I like this design.
Hyper Sonik
This really needs some other colors than just yellow and red to make it a bit more interesting to look at. I also noticed you made your belt buckle black and the belt itself red like the background color; probably should've switched that around. I just don't think the colors were used correctly here; nothing had real contrast from other things, but it is a good start!
Thorax thing
...That's a cool boat in the lower right.
RANKS:
1st - Flash Pyre
2nd - Speed Limit
3rd - Hyper Sonik
Round 2 - Aquatic
Your character has something to do with the water. Perhaps they've been blessed by underwater deities? Or perhaps built a robotic suit that can withstand submarine pressures and water? Maybe they're just swimmers with superpowers! Regardless, your hero is all about swimming! -

*heh* I was actually making a smart-[censored] comment about your deadline. Hint - It's not june.

...OH.
Fixing that! -
Well, conceptually, yes.
As a costume contest, we're clearly not going to be able to actually see whether or not the character can do that, but as a costume and character as a whole, speed should be the whole gist of it. -
Oh no... Not again.
Oh yes again. I'm starting Costume Contests up again... Mainly because somebody is taking too long to judge costumes in ANOTHER one!! *Glares at you know who...*
Nah, but really. This is just another costume contest thread with a completely different central idea...
What might that be?
Themes! Instead of designing a costume based on a palette of colors, you must design a costume for a hero centered around a general theme, whatever it might be.
WHA-that leaves no room for creativity!! What am I gonna do!?
Oh, there's plenty room for it; the themes are going to be, at worst, only slightly specific. Different themes will have different levels of specificity. For example, it could be simply [u]Animals[u], which means you could do a hero based on... A wolf, perhaps. Maybe a skunk. Perhaps a Panda? It's up to you. Maybe it could be [u]Senses[u], and you could choose wether to do a hero based on the sense of sight, hearing, touch, smell... Or just the whole of it. Basically, if you put your head into it, there are tons of ways you can take these general themes, and therein lies a chance to win!
Hmm... What could I potentially win?
Well, if you are an exceptional performer, you could win a spectacular... *drum roll*...
...NOPRIZE!!!... Uh, yeah... Sorry, but the main reason my first costume contest thread came to a halt was because I got too tired of spriting as a reward for the winners. Not to mention, the other costume contest seems to be doing quite well despite the lack of any big prizes.
Any specific rules in your crazy scheme?
A few:
<ul type="square"> [*]You cannot submit an existing character to compete in the contest. Your character must be made from scratch for this contest, as it's a test of using creativity! [*]Your character must have a visible semblance to the theme in question. Not much else to say here. [/list]Other than that, it's anything goes. You can use as many or as little colors as you want; use any unlocked pieces you might have gotten, and generally go at it. It's all, generally, a test of creativity.
So without further ado, here's our first theme:
SPEED - Your character is all about speed. Wether it be on ground, in water, in the air, or even in space, your character is a racing ace in however he gets around.
That's all there is to it. Get going! Deadline for this one will be on July 19 or 20. -
A kid who got a prosthesis that can shoot electricity; Goldenarm .
Note the white on the sneakers; that came with them and I couldn't recolor that. He's also shooting electricity from his wrong arm! GAAAAAHHH!!!! -
How 'bout me? (Link to images in Virtueverse Sig. If ya need one with more details, then just ask.)

there are shades of grey in between.

O RLY?
Nah, but seriously, I decided to go against it. The military theme was something that was brewing in my mind as well, and I decided to go with that instead. -

Nice job, gang.
Chisoku, what happened to the noir theme?
[/ QUOTE ]
Decided that'd be too boring. Just black and white, you know? -
Using the pallete: Sexy Naked Turtle Eating Celery in the Rainforest , I have created the Panzer Knight! Fear his camouflaged [censored]! Yarr!
-
Oh whoops... I thought that rule always applied.
It's just that it was brought up here and meant we had to. -
Because, what I was having an idea of doing was a completely black and white character, but that would require black and white skin as well. And that's not normal skin color, now is it?
-
Oh, what a challenge. I was juuuuust thinking about making a noir character, but then I read rule three. Blah!
SHEESH! This is proving to be real hard. -
Use the center mouse button/scroll wheel to rotate the camera around you. Hold it down and move the mouse.

You put it into the fonts folder in your system folder. Or right click on it and install it.

Looks like statesman's mouth is glued shut!
(Either that or he has two)
Nice work sir. -
Here's an example. Basically, it's pretty easy if you use a large number of stealth parts and the padded shoulders for Longbow. Red and white, of course.
