...or something like that.

Here's a couple of new pieces that I just did. Neither of them are directly related to CoX, but I keep trying to think of a way to create them in game. (so if anyone has any ideas...)

Anyway, here ya go.

Very nice inking style...

Thank you. I'm sure you can all appreciate that feeling of "exorcising those drawing demons". Sometimes, there's simply nothing better than getting an idea out of your head, and onto paper.

Thank you especially, LJ. I inked both of these in Illustrator CS3, and I'm, admittedly, fairly new to it. Up till now, most of my pieces were either inked by hand, and then scanned, and had their levels adjusted, or they were inked in PS. At any rate, hopefully I'll be able to refine my inking style a bit as I become more accustomed to Illustrator.

I like the pics, but sayiong "PsySpider" aloud makes me feel like I have a speech impediment.

Oooh, maybe that could be one of his powers? Yeah... he makes his opponents ashamed of their speaking abilities, so they just curl up in the corner, instead of fighting back.

I've been using Illustrator to sketch and ink since July, and loving it, check out this industry pro Brian Denham, he does some amazing stuff, and if you check his back blogs, he made some amazing free brushes ala Jack Kirby power effects... you'll frickin love em! Enjoy!

More Artz, you say?

*Rummages through collection of artz*

Ah ha! Found it!

This is a good one, and different from my usual style to boot. It's also not CoX related, but I think most people will be able to tell who it is.

Thanks, Dark! IIRC, I had probably been reading a bunch of Youngblood at the time, so that probably carried through into the pic. Nuthin' wrong with that though. Leifeld FTW!

I can totally see where you wanted to go with Superman, but man, it took me a second look not to see three legs on that piece. The calf muscle on his left leg (viewer's left) looks really awkward. I highly suggest if you can find it (try www.abebooks.com It's my dirty lil secret for getting art books cheap) Sarah Simbley's anatomy for the artist. Beautiful muscle reference that I think with your style, you'd be appreciate and it'd be helpful

Thanks, Sayterra. I'll have to see if I can find it.

I saw in another thread, that someone else had pasted a video they had made, and I thought "Hey, videos are a form of art too." So I decided to post this one that I made a few weeks ago. In retrospect, there a few things that I probably would have done differently. But hey, live and learn right?

Critiques are welcome and appreciated, as this is something I'd like to get better at.

Dandy Rocks!

Hey Dandy would you have a screen shot of "Total Focus"? I need one for a current commission and my client is away for 2 days... And if possible could you describe the build up and or use of it in battle... he wanted glowing arms and or TF, so I'm trying to oblige.

Thanks in advance...

Sure thing, LJ.

The animation is basically a brief hunching down, then leaping straight up, several feet. The arms and hands are brought up directly over the head, with the hands apart, and the elbows slightly bent.

Then, the toon brings their fists down onto the target, landing with the knees bent, feet a good distance apart, bent at the waist and upper back, and arms bent, with their fists in front of them.

They stay that way for several seconds till resuming the default animation. The glow around the hands begins as soon as the animation begins, and lasts till about 10-15 seconds after it is complete.

Here's some screenies.

Ok, so here's another piece. This one's already completed, so I doubt I'd make any changes to it, but as always, critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Nice, I'd love for you to ink one of mine... hmmm...

I'm so lame. Apparently they used one of my pics in the latest issue of the City Scoop, and I didn't even know it; cause I just now got around to reading it. Heh.

At any rate, for anyone that hasn't read it yet, you can find it here.
