Oops, bad link.

I love this Achtung Baby pic anyways.
I did not put it in my reply to avoid linking too much of my characters, but this is one really, really good. (it's this one, right ?)

Ha it's cool White. Though I think you've finally given me a name for Farwielder's praetorean version.

Sadly, I don't have anything other than pics of Frosty, so those are the only ones I can put up. But, all of my other favorites have already been covered by other posters anyway. Including MiniCity by AntiHiro, which I didn't even know existed until now.

I dont have links to artwork of other peoples characters, but many that I would have listed already have been. As such, I will pick a couple of stand outs of my own characters. I have received a lot of at over this past year and couldnt possibly link to all of the wonderful artists who have contributed to my collection. I picked 2 that showcase my signature hero and villain locked in their endless battle, and 1 where circumstances force them to cooperate. Feel free to check the link in my sig to see many more pictures by many talented artists, many of whom are right here on the CoH boards.

Good lord, how do you answer this, there are sooooo many great pieces I have seen this year....... of the top of my head, anything by Brandon Mckinney, a top bloke with a style I just really like. Juggy has a produced some excellent stuff especialy recently. Gill goes with out saying the man has so much talent. Derek Fayte I like as well, he has a quirky unique style. DJ is a top man, his pieces are top class. again its not CoX but Rowr you have come on with your art skills so much, you know I have a couple of piece in my fav's on DA.

I like this one because it has one of my fav toons and its done by my fav artist. Rowr

I know I have'nt mentioned so many great artist, Graver, Spinomania, Farwieder, Guildhelpers, Crimson Jimson, Rox, Alex, Jim Tessier, sorry about that, I would probally end up writing a novel if I mentioned all the great pieces I have seen, all I can say is keep it up and roll on 2007.

My fav piece I have done is TA but it was close.

There's just too much to list This is an awesome, talented group. I'm heavily biased towards the commission I got from Alex, just for what it did for my friends but I couldn't begin to list everything that's impressed me.

Posted

Yeah that Rowr is real sexy CB but I like the pic you did you of Lazzarus . Someone also made me another piece for me. What I like about both pieces is that the artists capture the nature of my character without me telling the back story.

There's been so many great pieces of fanart this year, so I won't choose.

I think kudos should also go to all of the aspiring artists who went from strength to strength this year and continue to inspire others with their determination, dedication and hard work. May 2007 bring further inspiration and elevate your artistic talent to ever greater heights and ability.

ouch....pic my favs....thats a toughy. no particular order (minus linkies):
*Britannia...most of the pics representing her.

*Katfood's gal in the cell...forgot her name (and to lazy to look)...the lighting was simply amazin.

*pretty much every thing DarkJedi touches...nuff said

*Alex's work...like it so much have two commissions from him and workin on a 3rd. friggin great work and fast ta boot.

*Jim Tessier's whiteperegrine

*the back shot of Farstrider flying...very cool!

*quake's sketch of whiteperegrine...still kills me that people dont request line work from him more often.

*jugg's "airbrush" work in the digi realm...so cool and different

*starcasm's chibi's...cuteness unbound. heh

*scarfs quasi bust shots that are bordered...very cool

....sad thing is I could go on and on. there is so much good art flowin through this place. to narrow it down to a couple pieces is like saying you have to choose between your two favorite desserts....sure it can be done if you had ta do it...but I prefer to be the pig and take em both. as such, in the end I select em all. greedy? yes I am.~

Wow, someone mentioned me?? Thanks whiteperegrine! I really enjoyed doing the work, and all the artwork that I've done in this past year for all of you guys n gals....

Means a lot to be mentioned! I could say that I have one favorite and be done with it, but I cannot. All the artists that I've seen in the past year on these forums have been nothing short of extraordinary... or dare I say it.... heroic?

But all in all, all the artists deserve the kudos you guys are giving. Let's hope that next year brings out more of the creative spirit in them!

Going back to my drawing table now...

Hey Jim, you're good, you deserve a mention.

I, for myself can't believe I saw my name mentioned by Celtic Bolt.

Well I would agree with those that have said there are too many to list! Throughout this year all the artists here have vastly improved through trial and era and all the artists here in the fanart section get a nod by yours truly! You all rock!!

I love seeing each and every one of your unique styles come through in your art in general! If I were to list my favorites at all then I would have to go through each artist and list my favorite by them personally.

Great year in art for these boards though IMO compared to the year before when this section was a ghost town! Keep up the great work guys!!

Also in case I am unable to get back here before Christmas...

Merry Christmas to all the artists and my fellow artwhores who post on here!! Can't wait to see what the new year brings!

P.S Yeah we need a sticky Juggy!

The rest of you I can't judge easily, because you're all awesome, and all your pieces are awesome. @.@

I really can't compare to you guys.

That's digital. Most likely Photoshop (especially for the lighting). The colors could be Photoshop or a mixture of it with Illustrator.

But it's on a notebook... Or is that Photoshopped into the pic?

the original sketch he did in his arty notebook and scanned in. the coloring was done in digi land. I have the precolored version in my art folder if you want to see it. not a big difference from what you see here....other than the coloring...heh

came out looking very much like an top notch animated cell (imo)

either way...one of my best and favorite pieces... ~

looks to me like a low opacity gradiant layered over the original sketch to set tone and lighting before he started coloring the figure itself. Which is why the binder rings are colored. Or it could be layered over the whole picture. tough to tell, he did a great job with shading.

AWWW I don't hit the blue boards too often. They like Doug's Chief piece. I'm like a proud parent right now. hahaha
