Everyone's stuff looks great....

...and nothing like the traditional Tarot-style I've been working on, which I promise to have a scan of up later tonight.

Update~ <,<

I know it doesn't look like *alot* is changed >< but it took a long time to add the background pieces <,< plus: I have a question!

Simply put - I'm having a err... middleground error >.<; Uhm... simply put, because of the way I left the background grainy - I'm finding I can't just use the 'sampler' to pick the exact same color back up again, even with it set to '5 by 5 average' - I can't get close enough - so once an area is colored, its either keep it that color - or totally re-do the general vicinity.

This is generally OK - but I realized that my middleground is uhm... blank. I had forgotten that originally I'd planned that to be a street... which would of course involve people >.> people whom drawing would be difficult at this stage <'x'>

So I decided to move the scene entirely over to Boomtown - the problem now is, how do I indicate that she's up in one of those blown out skyscrapers? My thought is to add more beams and maybe some other wreckage in the middle area where the sky meets the building >.<

Anyone have any suggestions?

I think it's neat Squirrel

[/ QUOTE ]

Demolished skyline, complete with the glow of a fire or two off on the horizon, perhaps? That would keep the detailing to a minimum, but still convey height/distance, as well as the nature of the area.

(Edit: Not being picky, but maybe saving some background drawing.... Is that a 3.75" x 5.5" ratio? It looks kinda wide for some reason...)

Its not in ratio yet no >.> I figured I'd finish and worry about the shrinkage later <'x'>; is that a bad thing? >.>

Nope, not at all! I'm just lazy, and was thinking that shaving some off the side to bring it into ratio would cut down the amount of background/horizon that had to be filled in.

<~_~>; sorry for spaming you peoples <;_;> FEEDBACK KEEPS THE SQUIRREL GOING! <T_T>

<'x'> Ok so, does this look good?

I'm shifting it to almost a Faultline/Boomtown hybrid at this point... I needed to explain why there's a dumpster next to her >.> and I would figure that wouldn't be normal up on top of a building. But if you've been pushed high in the air... aha!

My ideas, they are random >.>

Once critique about her... She has no neck? I would make the head a bit higher up, maybe..

Also, who is that? Yumii with dyed hair?

Posted

I like it!

...and apparently I'm not as lazy as I thought. The High Priestess begins... (Ignore the random lines...I did some last-minute shifting...)

Bonus points if any of the CoXisms on the original elements make sense. ...they'll make more sense in color...

Yumii ain't a robot <@.@>;

That would be Skrapt <@_@> and she does have a neck - but if you notice, she's hunched over, wearing a mask, and her body armor goes up high as well <,<

For the record, Skrapt was originally part of Paragon City's rebuilding effort -namely part of an advanced weapon's program to fight the Rikti as well as criminal elements. Unfortunately her cost went too high and the plug was pulled. Rather than see her creation destroyed - the engineer who'd 'mothered' her sent her against Doctor Vahzilok to prove how valuable she would be.

Unfortunately Vahzilok won the engagement, and the broken remains were unceremoniously dumped on the Talos scrap heap where she rusted for 2 years.

The Banished Pantheon's summoning in Dark Astoria brought thousands of dead souls back to Paragon - and through a strange twist of fate, the robot that became Skrapt had developed a faux-soul of its own through its advanced AI* - this fooled hundreds of other souls to merge into the wreckage rather than return to their bodies.

Despite being poorly treated by the City, as well as her destruction sought by numerous religious groups and the families of those trapped inside her metal frame - Skrapt serves the city faithfully from the back alleys - though she wears a mask to hide some of the decay.

* - If you've ever heard of "I think, therefore I am" this is what I mean. A robot, naturally, lacks a soul - however - if that robot becomes self aware, I theorize it would create the begginings of a true human soul. Skrapt would have been in the first stages of this - almost a stub - which confused those returning from beyond.

Of course that's just my using Renet Decartes philosphy to justify my insanity. <@_@>

The EULA scroll killed me--I mean, I'm dying in tears here ROTFLMAO!

I like the COV/COX symbols standing in for the pomegranites, but I'm not sure why the hood is standing in place of the crown or the bow/moon (of Artemis) having the shield emblem hanging on it. Why the "R" and "S" instead of "J" and "B" (for Jachin and Boaz from the Temple of Solomon)?

I mean, it looks great, I'm just curious about the symbolisim since it is such a wonderfully executed card, I wonder about the symbolism that was chosen.

Thanks.

To everyone so far-- man this is one KA idea and all of our (I'm claiming you collectively) fine artists are rising to the challenge.

I love to watch you guys work. My coming here to see the work you drawn or had commissioned from such great artists is one of my highlights right now. I just wanted you to know.

BTW:my quickie two sheckles worth of input:

Hangman: gorgeous and sets a great tone.
The Hermit: Great idea squirrel-- the broken skyline in the back is gonna be killer and the idea itself is super.
Moon: great prelim
Death: CJ with the addition of the five heroes you've got an awsome thematically cool piece that is fantatstic
Justice: Wow! Just Wow! can't wait to see that finished.

Everyone has a slightly different approach and idea of how to do this, yet they are fitting together beautifully.

You all just Rawk more than any other group on any other board I've ever been on. Truly.

Maybe I need a life, but you guys/gals are fantastisch!

Rock On!

From the wiki:
[ QUOTE ]
She is often shown wearing the crown of Isis and Hathor; the waxing, full, and waning moon.

[/ QUOTE ]

Look up. See those nine spheres? Yellow, red, and green server loads, anyone?

The hood's for mystery.

From the wiki:
[ QUOTE ]
She is often shown sitting between two columns, one black, one white. This represents all dualities, light and dark, good and evil day night, summer and winter. She knows that dualities are useful abstractions but can blind us to the underlying wholeness of reality and the need to integrate them.

In some decks, the columns are labeled “B” and “J.” These letters were inscribed on two columns of Solomon’s Temple. The original meaning is controversial, though there are some who say that on the tarot card, they represent Baal and Jehovah; two paths to wisdom. If that is true, Baal may bring back in the Moon, as he was the spouse of Astarte, the Queen of Heaven, and a moon goddess. Jehovah was a god of light; Baal a lord of the night, another duality the High Priestess stands athwart.

Recluse and Statesman, anyone?

Very nice! YOu certainly have put a lot of thought into this one! I can't wait to see it finished!

Ahahahahaha Sun you are a hidden treasure , your card depiction is coming along wonderfully

Guys your all doing aces

Stupid DevArt being stupid. Stupid scanner being small. Stupid me liking to draw big.

Well, it isn't all on there. It's still pretty rough. But I wanted to share anyway.

The Emperor

I think it's comin' along ok. Now would be an excellent stage for critiques.

Nice idea! Looks like its coming along quite nicely, and the Statesman concept is a good one.

Depending on how much humor you want to add, the flag could be replaced by a nerf bat...otherwise nothing else I can add.

I like how emperor is comming along...holding the flag may be a little akward, but maybe not...the perspectives pretty cool too. Looks like a Villains view of Statesman too
