You inspired me alittle bit :P, got my creative (or unoriginal but i think they are creative) juices going kinda.

I sat around and thought 'I really need to get a villain to 50, Ive got the hero, but now i need the villain.'

So I started to think what I most like AT wise. I chose Brutes. Then I needed to decide which powersets, and I have a current level 12 Elec/Elec which I liked, but hated his concept. I also wanted a character who would have wings by concept and fly.
(save the no fly on brutes argument, I want it :P)

Anywho, I was trying to think of a story and couldnt help but continuously stumble upon your name and/or Thor/Odin. Well, so born is Strome, 'son' of Loki, enemy of Thor and his assassin :P.

I'll post pictures later, he doesnt have wings yet obviously but he will. He is on Freedom right now, and I may move him but im not sure, if I move him it will most likely be to my usual server 'Champion' or to 'Virture' cause I like him in an RP respect.

Anywho, just a heads up that you totally have a rival :P. I'll post his bio when I finish. So far my story is that he was made by Loki with a Locke of Thor's hair, and part of Loki's spirit. So he has Thor's power(electricity and all) and Loki's evil nature. It is subject to change though.

This is all.

EDIT: Locke of Thor's hair, not yours :P. Anyways, after much actual looking into your characters own backstory, i've decided to unlink mine from yours, because your line is very different :P. #1 you have your rival Assassin of Thor already, and #2, I saw a picture of you and Loki together, and well my timeline doesnt make sense now does it? Still, you inspired me, do you feel good? lol

more norse ripoffs, great....

isen't it bad enaugh ya americans mock us with making Thor into a hippie superhero? *sigh*

I think its a cool idea and story. I also wanted an elec/elec brute that had wings lol, but I went the angel route (ya, real original I know). Because electricity/thunder is kind of associated with zeus, zeus is a god, so electricity is sort of a godlike power. But your idea is cool too Btw, to hemily, im a bit confused. More norse ripoffs? I rarely see any, and they usually have cool costumes and well thought out bios. And what do you mean, rip-off? Isn't nearly every character technically a "rip-off" of something or someone?

some migth have a loose theme, but this is taking a mythos and twisting it around to fit you, instead of creating your own with similarities to the original mythos, it's just a thing i get annoyed with, i meet a billion Thor's, Thor's Lover, Thor's Sons, Thor's old girlfriends's daughters' pet dog, Fenris wolves there are a whole lot of, Odin/Wodan there's a few of, made up relatives of Odin/Wodan there's alot of....

maybe i should start making new chars to follow this trend

actually, it is, the Norse Mythology is a old religion, then again, everyone slaughters religions anyway, it's just an annoyance of mine, even CoH is mockign old religions, with Statesman having gained powers from greek mythology, Tor and such is from norse mythology, catgirls, would be in the same genre if they clamed to be a decendant of Bast, Vampires with the claim of being Dracula, Alucard and the such, there's a diffrence of making something similar, and directly ripping off something

It's my opinion that every religion needs a good swift kick in the pants. If it can't survive that, it isn't a valid religion.

I'd just like to point out that the genius behind that particular idea was the Scottish hack Mark Millar, not an American.

a Scot? darn them scots! and making him into a darn Hippie? i want to beat him up, badly.

Wow, I started a riot with a simple character idea

By the way, um, angels are aplenty. lol, they are ripoffs too are they not? As well as Demons. Everything is a ripoff or knockoff of something now a days. The 'experiment gone wrong' or 'crisis brings forth powers' are just as often found and I find them to be just as bad...So I choose what I like.

an Angel in itself is okay'sih, but when they start going that this angel is son of Michael the Arch Angel or something, ripping off some set mythos, it gets a bit weird, that's the kind i find annoying, i've met so many really bad ones too, i met Thor, he had one eye, and was the god of wisdom... something sounds odd there... og wait., Odin is the one eyed, he gave his eye to gain wisdom! this "Thor" was also Immortal, he was a villain, and loved starting fights, since he was.. well.. Immortal, he ruled Aasgard and Valhalla and everything, battled Midtgaars Ormen... just too bad the norse gods were mortal

this kind of people, is the kinds that make me loathe people using a based mythos directly, claiming to be a son/daughter or direct decendant of a known God or Goddess, a decendant that does not Exist, just like Thor... never sided with Americans, he was scandinavian darn you scottish guy! darn you to hell!

Von Holstmann is a direct jab at a stereotypical muscle-bound germanic person who speaks broken english.

Im just glad nobody has yelled at me yet.

Aw, but I love the way Mark Millar kills characters off just to give 5 minutes of shock value. That was sarcasm, by the way.

Mythology is a great source of material though, because it's something people have grown up hearing in one form or another. So it leads to pretty easily identifiable archetypes. That and the fact that Norse and Greek myths just rock. ^_^

I myself have a zombie mastermind who is a dark elf servant of Hel, sent back to Midgard. I'm not quite sure about the details as to why she was sent back yet... but the imagery and theme fit so nice.

SG Mate: Cien, what the hell is this Rookery thing?
RadDidIt: (interjecting) Dude. It's the Rookery.
SG Mate: Yeah, but what IS it?
RadDidIt: Silliness Incarnate.

in the comic genre there is nothing that hasnt been played to death in regards to story line. in effect all characters are "oh great another "________". the question is whether the person who generated the character likes em and enjoys em. personally I play for personal enjoyment...if a character I make entertains another person then great....if not oh well...not everyone has the same tastes.

norse band wagon character? you bet I do...Keles the Asgarthr Gryphon and Envoy of Freyja. he's one of my 3 mains.
kitty kat band wagon character? Lynx on champion. although he's male versus female..
dark hero ala punisher/shadowhawk? I'm here too...with the newly made Nitecrow

the list goes on and on...the goal, imo, isnt trying to come up with some whacked out character....but to come up with cool story and look for a character. if these happen to force you into one of the billions of subset genre's then so be it....its tough to be critical on someones character the exception being they are a direct rip from one of the knowns out there.

blah blah blah....and rambly ta boot.

...it's a game. have fun with it....that's the bottom line~

Norse mythology kinda reads like an ancient comic book, though. I mean, apart from a couple stories... (Gold of the Rhine, I'm thinkin') Humans never do much of anything. It's all the gods, who don't die of age or disease, but certainly aren't immortal, who have big battles with giants and serpents and death up and down the world tree. I mean, if there's a mythos that I approve of being used to fuel a comic book character, then, thematically, Norse is it. I would like to see more people knock of Egyptian and Native American mythologies, though. I feel these are under-abused.

As far as the sons they never had thing, are comics not full of 'this is an alternate reality in which this did happen' stories?

I love Battlepope.

It's hard to believe it's the same guy writing " The Walking Dead"

I kinda see your side Hems, but seriously Anime does it the most with the butchering of relgions/mythos.
