Roxstar by Pep

Okay, 2 weeks ago I posted a sketch of roxstar

and I was wondering how many people actually saw it.

Please critique it if you want, but I just kinda wanted to see if anybody actually visits my thread. Juggerthas' sketchdump or individual piece thread just got me wondering. I stopped posting individual piece threads because I didn't want to crowd the boards with my posts, but I don't seem to get any critiques when I just post it in my Pep art trade thread.

I like getting critiques, so I'm justing trying to figure out if I'll get more if I post each drawing individually.

Thanks for your time

You know i never did see this in your thread even though i check it when there are replies.

Nice humour and the detail in rox's body is really well done.

Can't comment on the art, as I'm absolutely untalented in that area, but its a very funny sketch.

+100 points.

I like the pose.

My only thing is... The background.

You might want to raise the vanishing point your using. The Fridge/Counter top receding lines kinda throw off the tile lines.

Me 2 bits.

I can't comment on technical aspects. I will let the experts do that.

I thought that it was very good. I loved the thought of this big rock tank clobbering a cockroach in his kitchen. I like all the kitchen details in the background.

He is right, they are EVIL!!!!

I saw it! And I was very pleased with it! The only thing that sorta bugged me is the text. I think the computer text should go with inks and handwritten text so go with pencils. Hmm....critique......??....I dunno I love it too much! I really don't know what else to say about it. Thanx again. I hope you liked yours I didn't get the feeling that the world was ready for sexy pep.

I tend to visit the "Art dump" or mulitple piece threads, whatever you want to call them less than the individual piece threads. That said, I do remember this piece. Liked it then, like it now.

Nothing I can really offer you in the way of critique. I think your style has developed into something unique that when I see it, I know it is a piece by Pep. That's a good thing. Just my opinion, but hand drawn art is at it's best when it is less anotomically or structurally perfect so that it has some interpretation from the artist that shows through. It's one of the reasons I like to pop in on the postings of the numerous talents we have here, to see their interpretation of things.

Yeah I look at all threads just because I have an OCD obsession with keeping all the threads dark blue! Any light blue threads pop up I GOTTA read 'em!! it bothers me to no end! :P

Heyas Pep I missed this in your sketch dump thread glad you reposted as its a very cool piece .

hopefully you'll post more individual pieces in the future

As others have said Pep, you did a kickass job on the fairly tricky texture of Rox's skin, but the thing that gets me is the background. Stuff like the bananas, the newspaper clipping and to-do list, and the like just make the scene all the more funny. Grand stuff =D

I think I commented on this one from your dump, but maybe not... can't remember, but great stuff. I tried to look into the suggestion made by Crimson_Jimson but couldn't see a major prob. in the perspective... but then again, it is 6:45 in the morning so I might not be seeing things any more.

Still, great work, and the notes on the fridge are damned amusing. Keep up the good work, culture that neurotic obsession for detail you have going there and soon you'll be amazed at the stuff you'll produce... you'll be completely out of your nut, but amazed none the less... neurotic ocd is a god thing, yay!
