I do drawings while I watch TV. In between watching sweaty muscled guys rub all over each other I can usually get at least one half finished drawing out. Then I finish it up while being entertained by the red headed giant of late night comedy himself.
And the shoes? I googled some sneakers and used them as reference. It's way easy to do that with easy access to the net.

I do that when I watch hockey sometimes, and the season just happens to be starting this week It's just that Star has been a slave driver lately, forcing me to play my scrapper Fenris while trying to watch hockey. I suppose I could learn to draw with my feet, so I could do all 3 at once!
I also haven't seen Conan in a while. I'm lucky if I can stay up for Jon Stewart, and Steven colbert when I have to get up for 5am

Well, I hope this sketch does Mel justice, especially after Suichiro's awesome rendition of Pep. I had some trouble with the perspective of the background, so it made my slow butt even slower, but I hope it came out okay. Anyway, here it is:
