Wait.... since when is Mynx Claws/Regen?

[/ QUOTE ]
Since always? What else would she be?

[/ QUOTE ]

Have you fought her in CoH?

She's not Regen. She's Inv. I've watched her pop Unstoppable

[/ QUOTE ]
No. Fought her in CoV, but I really couldn't tell exactly what powersets she was using. From my perspective she was a Claws/Get-Mauled-By-Brutes Scrapper. If there was an Unstoppable in there, I missed it (or she doesn't have it at level 30).

My Synapse hero beat Arctic_Sun's Statesman hero last night while playing the CCG with about 5 other people. Synapse is a blaster, States is a Tank. I just kept pelting him for tiny damage and forcing him to be unable to get any cards. *muahahaha*

Seriously, I played for the first time really last night. We did a two on two team game and then had a bunch of one on one matches. Teaming was cool - we had a few rules questions (we would all like a complete rule book) but when in doubt we checked AEG's forums or defaulted to "How would this work in the MMO?" and it usually answered the question.

It was interesting to see that some matches went pretty fast - while others took so long the place closed on us before they could finish.

It seems to depend on how many powers you both have out - if you only have a few powers out the game moves quickly - but if you both get more than 4 powers + sidekicks out then you better be ready for the long haul.

I had heard people say "its just like the MMO" but when I played Mynx (claws/regen) it hit home. Awry smacked me with her tricked out blaster for a ton of damage - until I was almost dead, then on my next turn I healed back nearly all of it with regen powers. I just started laughing out loud because it was so similar to the game.

Then Arctic_Sun pulled out his Statesman card and whacked Mynx on the head and "nerfed" her.

Good Times.

I really like the CCG - can't wait to play with some of you guys at the player-meet!

Are there Nerf cards and ED(Everyone DIES!) card where your powers no really work "as once intended"? :-b

Just to note, I played two games this sunday, one using Chain Reactor, and another using Lady Grey, both against the fire Tank Caldera.

Chain Reactor Destroyed Caldera in one hit, it wasn't even a match, I just waited until I got a focused, dropped a Siphon Power, got an enraged off, then did a few other things and the match was over in only a few turns.

Lady Grey Vs Caldera was a tought fight though, had my opponent attacked more, he would have gotten me, but because he was slow on the attack, Lady won out in the end with her healing (being able to heal 8 to 10 HP an attack really draws out the game). My oppenent usually fights a guy that uses Serpent Drummer, and even he had to say that Lady was just all around superior to SD.

Hmm... mayhaps there should be like... an electronic version of the card game like MTG Online. You could create your own avatar with lots of neat costume pieces, wander around a lobby room with lots of pretty stuff and chat with people before heading into private game rooms to play against others. It'd be awesome.

...

...

Nah, never work.

Just how well do those 'self-made' cards of your own heroes that you can print off stack up against the existing 'face' heroes?

[/ QUOTE ]

Fairly well.

Compared to the named heroes, the generated heroes have 2 advantages:

1. Flexibility - you can choose any combination of powersets you want and any starting powers in those sets.
2. Speed - The generated heroes have an extra starting power - this makes them both faster out of the gate and faster to get to the highest level powers in their primary powerset.

What they don't have are signature powers - and those are universally quite strong. All in all, I'd say that the generated heroes are just a *touch* behind the named heroes, but not very much.

Yeah...I was all set to post a rant on the Alderac forums asking why Fire Blast (the power, not the set) was hosed (compared to every other four-damage no-requirement ranged attack) when fire resistance didn't seem to be noticeably less common than energy, negative, or cold resistance, but I decided to wait until I could try out a generic Fire/Ice blaster deck (since they don't have energy manipulation, my main's powerset yet).

Finally managed to pull the two signature heroes who were camping on my Fire Breath and Blaze and got to play it last Friday. Fire Blast (the power) sucked as much as I thought it would, but dang....I think I had my opponent down to five or less health within six turns in every game. Fire Breath or Blaze (or both) showed up in my opening hand every game (Fire Breath and Blaze both require you to have two Fire Blast powers in play, meaning that a generic hero can play them on the first turn, but a signature hero can't)....a good draw like that can make things crazy fast.

My opponent was playing a Defender, though, so it might be different against a tanker or scrapper with defense, or a controller with opening stuns...but I'm happy with generic hero performance so far, at least.

I think that's just about every hero's Secondary in CoV. >.> <.<

My brute's got like, 30 notches on her belt from Infernal alone, by now.

I've introduced the game to 4 non-MMO players who were happy for it, as they weren't going to check out the game otherwise... and my girlfriend's 8 yr old son.

The game 'can' appeal to people unfamiliar with the game, especially if they're even remotely into the comic hero genre.:-p

Tried my first real go at the game, earlier. Me vs buddy that also hasn't played. I built a 22-card Regulus deck to go against the CoV DVD Statesman deck.

Beat him thanks to Glitterdance, but we both enjoyed it. I found it kinda fun to use the Rad Emission harassment stuff. We're gonna try again with mini-decks but without sidekicks (I'll do up a Ms Liberty deck, or something), 'cause...Glitterdance swayed the game.
