How to get Shivan Pet temp power
is this a 1 time thing? as in after I use the temp power I can't get it again. Like the Jet Packs in Ballista Mission. Or can I get it again and use it and rinse repeat. til I am blue in the face.
I'm pretty sure you can get it as often as you want. It can be activated five times, and each time it summons a level 25 Shivan Elite Boss. pretty powerful.
And to the OP, there's six meteors, not five.
Heard a rumor that if you leave a teammate/pet on a destroyed turret it won't respawn. Can someone confirm?
It's not how many times you get knocked down that count. It's how many times you get up.

7th: You are the proud new owner of the stupidest pet in the history of this game. He will provide you will hours of enjoyment as you laugh at him and feel sorry for him all at the same time. He is basically a herding blaster that will try to go from group to group getting as much aggro as possible but he never seems to make it to the dumpster.
Either way, dont be afraid to use him, they grow back.

They can respawn, I've seen it happen. The respawn seems to be at regular intervals. There is a trick I've learned to make soloing them easier. Find the turret farthest out and destroy it. Wait till it respawns then move in and destroy it and then rest of them. I haven't tried to figure out the respawn timer, but if you start right after it happens it's not to hard to solo. At least my brute and tank had no problems with it.
Also a good idea to find an out of the way firebase at off peak hours to decrease the chance of someone causing problems.

The only debuff the Shivan has is -defense. It does *not* have -regen, no matter how often you may hear people say it does. It has several powers from the Radiation Blast set, each of which possesses a -def in addition to its damage (especially Irradiate, which has a huge -def component). In addition, its melee attacks seem to be some sort of Rad version of Energy Melee; while its not known if these powers have any secondary effects or not, -def is usually assumed.
It does not possess any of the Radiation Emission debuffs. It is useful against AVs and GMs for two reasons: it does amazing damage, and as a result produces significant aggro allowing it to tank.

I haven't had one used against me, but if it's built the same as the PVE enemy shivans, its Rad punches should have -fly to them. I think -jump too. Haven't looked in a bit.
I have to agree. They are nice to have - extra damage versus EB's, AV's, etc. Good panic button for when a bonus ambush or somesuch shows up and starts to overwhelm your group.
Heck, since depending upon your character you can get this in 5-6 minutes from hitting BB, it's a very nice power. (I have some characters that I can do this with, and some that take longer.)

Eh, I think the snow beasts are at least slightly more stupid. I use it whenever I see a group of foes and think, "I need a distraction. Something like Klinger in his dress, doing the chicken dance on a highwire... Ah, come 'ere, snowbeast!"
This is a quick guide which probebly doesn't need to be made but will be made regardless of the need for it being made. If you noticed the awkwardness of the previous statement, congratulations.
The instructions apply to both villains and heroes as the task is identical for both.
Be sure to bring along at least one teammate to help with the firebase and to provide extra protection against the other faction (safety in numbers, yo!)
First, go to Bloody Bay.
2nd: Talk to the scientist or evil scientist (depending on which faction you're on) by the helicopter. They will give you a temp power which will allow you to collect ores.
3rd: Travel to each meteor (there's a special marker for each one on the Bloody Bay map), target each meteor, and use the temp power your contact gave you to collect ore from the meteor. The temp power is interruptable. After a meteor is relieved of its ore, it cannot provide an ore for another player for a few seconds. If the blue bar is full the ore can be collected from the meteor, if not then one must wait to be able to collect the ore.
4th: After collecting all 5 ores, locate a firebase. There are several scattered about the bloody bay map.
5th: (This is where a teammate comes in handy.) After a firebase is located, defeat the 4 turrets on the outer perimeter of the base and the 4 turrets on the roof of the base. Do this quickly because the turrets respawn quickly. After all the turrets are destroyed, go inside the firebase and click on the computer called the 'ore converter'.
6th: Return to the scientist contact and collect your reward.
